Objective To investigate the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in critically ill children with pediatric critical score (PCIS) and pediatric death risk score (PRISM),comparing its value. Methods A total of 100 cases of matching children with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) to stay in our hospital during 2007.07 ~2012.07 was retrospectively analyzed.Check PICU most serious disease in this group of children, living PICU most severely ill when diagnosed with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS),when it was suffering from ARDS most serious line PCIS with PRISM score, and then using the Logistic multiple regression to analyze the scores of the two scoring ability as predicting the ARDS death in children with risk factors, and using two-factor analysis of variance of the two scoring methods by judging linear correlation existence. Results (1)PCIS with PRISM score showed a negative correlation (r=-0.6031,P <0.01),the linear regression equation y =-0.2389x +74.816 (P<0.01).(2) There was no statistical difference between the ARDS death group and survival group (P > 0.05) ; By PCIS PRISM score LOGISTIC regression analysis of the risk of death in children, there was no statistical difference (P > 0.05).Conclusions PCIS and PRISM score cannot be the standards to forecast the death of the ARDS patients, but can provide an objective referring standard of ARDS's treatment.

Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
A predominant chrysene-degrading strain was isolated and screened from biological sludge sampled from a coking plant, which can use chrysene as sole carbon source for growth in the selective culture me-dium.The phylogenetic tree of the strain was produced on the basis of morphology observation by SEM,experimental results of physiology and biochemistry and analysis of 16S rDNA sequence. The strain was identified as Achromobacter xylosoxidans. The effect of initial concentration of chrysene solution,inoculat-ing dose and pH on degradation efficiencies was investigated. The results indicate that the degrading charac-teristics of the strain is fine. The optimal degrading conditions are:initial concentration of chrysene solution 40 mg/L,inoculating dose(V/V)10%,pH 7.0~7.5,respectively.Under the optimal conditions, the degrading efficiency can reach more than 80% after 5 days at 30?C.

Objective To analyze the effect of eukaryotic plasmids containing wild (sense) or anti- sense methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene on cell viability and transcription level of tumor related genes in human gastric cancer cell line. Methods Human gastric cancer cell line MKN-45 was cultured.Recombinant plasmids containing wild MTHFR (W) or antisense MTHFR (A) gene, pCMV-W and pCMV-A,were constructed. Then pCMV-W,pCMV-A and pCMV blank plasmid were transfected into MKN45 cells respectively by using lipofect.Cell viability was analyzed by 3-(4,5-bime- thylthiazolyl-2)-2,5-diphenyhetrazolium dromide(MTT).The transcription levels of Dnmt 1,c-myc, p21~(WAF1) and hMLH1 genes were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR).Results Cell vi- ability remarkably increased in those transfected with wild MTHFR (P<0.01),which was contrary to those transfected with antisense MTHFR(P<0.01).The expression of those tumor related genes mRNAs were all remarkably decreased in the MKN45-W cells in comparison with those in the MKN45-pCMV cells. No significant difference in the expressions of those tumor related genes mRNAs were found between the MKN45 cells transfected with pCMV-A and blank pCMV.Conclusion MTHFR influences cell viability and the expres- sion level of tumor related genes in human gastric cancer cell line MKN45.

A teaching method called cross-disciplinary joint teaching, which integrated the neural system-based physiology, anatomy and histology from gross morphology to micmstructure, then to physiological function, was carried out on 2010 clinical eight-year program medical students.Jointteaching method was carried out throughout the whole courses. That means in three subjects related to the discipline, teachers compile the textbook, discuss teaching scheme, compile cases, collectively prepare lessons, and attend lectures and discussion together.Flexible teaching forms such as casebased teaching,problem-based teaching and bilingual teaching were also run through the whole processes of the teaching.Compared with the traditional teaching model,cross-disciplinary joint teaching not only achieves the integration of morphology, microstructure and functions of nervous system, but also has a priority of helping the students to develop a more efficient learning ability such as initiative study and thinking extension.

Objective To explore the relationships of post- traumatic growth with self- care efficacy and psychological resilience in patients with breast cancer. Methods Totally 303 patients with breast cancer were investigated with Post- traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI), Chinese version of Strategies Used by People to Promote Health (C- SUPPH) and Connor- Davidson Resilience Scale (CD- RISC). Results The total score of PTGI was 63.74±13.00 and the status of post- traumatic growth in breast cancer patients was in middle level, with a highest interpersonal score of 24.49±5.05, a lowest mental change score of 3.84± 1.91. Correlation analysis showed that post- traumatic growth was positively correlated with the level of self- care efficacy and psychological resilience (P<0.01 or 0.05). Regression analysis showed that self- care efficacy and psychological resilience in breast cancer patients could effectively predict the post- traumatic growth with an explanation rate of 36.1%. Conclusions Self- care efficacy and psychological resilience in patients with breast cancer are closely correlated with post- traumatic growth. It is suggested to take appropriate measures to promote post-traumatic growth of the breast cancer patients.
