Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2006;26(5):580-2
In order to evaluate the applied value of soluble intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) in acute rejection (AR) following liver transplantation, the expression of sICAM-1 protein was sequentially detected by using ELISA in serum and bile of 43 patients receiving liver transplantation. In AR group, the expression levels of sICAM-1 protein were increased 3 days before and immediately on the establishment of AR diagnosis, and there was significant difference in the expression of bile between AR group and control group (P<0.01). After reversion of AR with hormone intensive therapy, there was significant difference in the sICAM-1 protein expression of serum and bile between AR group and control group. It was concluded that the sequential detection of sICAM-1 protein level in serum and bile was a reliable and noninvasive method for the early diagnosis of AR after liver transplantation and was valuable to observe the curative effects of anti-AR therapy.

Clinical Medicine of China 2011;27(6):612-614
Objective To discuss the meaning of continuous intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring in patients with severe traumatic craniocerebral injury. Methods One hundred and twenty four patients with severe craniocerebral injury treated from August 2004 to February 2011 in our hospital, were enrolled and divided randomly into ICP monitoring group (n = 62) and routine treatment group (n = 62). The patients of ICP monitoring group had adjusted treatment plan according to the changes of ICP at any time, whereas the patients in routine treatment group underwent routine neurosurgical treatment according to the doctors' experience. Results There were 7 cases of acute kidney function failure, and 11 cases of electrolyte disturbances in the ICP group. There were 15 cases of acute kidney function failure, and 25 cases of electrolyte disturbances in the routine group. The complication rate in the ICP group was lower than that in the routine group (x2 =3. 54 and 7.67 for acute kidney function failure and electrolyte disturbances respectively, Ps <0. 01). The days of mannite using were (6±2)dand (15 ±3)d, respectively; the dosage of mannite using were (749 ± 125) g and (1545 ±250) g,respectively. The good recovery and slight disability were 28 and 16 cases in the ICP group, and 13 and 9 cases in the routine group, respectively. The severe disability, vegetative state and death were 9,4 and 8 cases in the ICP group, and 17,7 and 13 cases in the routine group. The days and dosage of mannite using in the ICP group were much less than those in the routine group (t = 8. 32 and 7.41, Ps < 0. 01). The proportion of good recovery and slight disability in the ICP group were higher than those in the routine group(x2 =5. 07 and 3. 55,Ps <0.01). However, the proportion of severe disability, vegetative state and death in the ICP group were lower than those in the routine group (x2 =0.84,0.89 and 1.43, Ps < 0. 01) . Conclusion Continuous ICP monitoring in severe craniocerebral injury shows benefits in directing treatment plan adjustment, reducing complications and improving the prognosis.

Chinese Journal of Nervous and Mental Diseases 2016;42(7):395-399
Objective To explore the incidence of olfactory dysfunction in patients with Parkinson disease and the characteristic as well as its possible influencing factors. Methods The SS-12 was used to evaluate the olfactory function of 106 patients with Parkinson's disease and 110 healthy volunteers. The data was then compared between the two groups to investigate the correlation of olfactory function with age, gender, education, smoking, disease duration, Hohn-Yahr stage, UPDRSⅢscores, the dosage of levodopao and olfactory scores. Results Mean identification scores were significantly lower in patients(5.97 ± 2.27)than in controls(8.04 ± 2.00)(t=7.108, P=7.108). Parkinson's disease group did worse than the control group in identifying some odors including peppermint, bananas, liquorice, coffee, pineap?ple, rose and fish (P<0.05). Receiver Operating Characteristic curves revealed that 7.5 was the best olfactory dysfunc?tion diagnostic boundary value with 67.3%sensitivity and 73.6%specificity. Thus, the incidence of olfactory dysfunc?tion in Parkinson's disease was 73.6%. Correlation analysis showed that gender(rs=0.243, P=0.012), education(rs=0.208, P=0.032) and smoking(rs=0.279, P=0.279) were associated with odor identification ability, while age, disease du?ration, Hohn-Yahr stage, UPDRSⅢscores and the dosage of levodopa were not related with odor identification abilityin Parkinson disease (P>0.05). Conclusion Olfactory dysfunction occurs in Parkinson disease with an hign incidence rate. Olfactory function has nothing to do with disease duration, Hohn-Yahr stage, UPDRSⅢscores and the dosage of levodopa in Parkinson disease.

Objective To investigate the effectiveness and safety of dexmedetomidine combining with sufentanyl in controlling PCIA after laryngeal carcinoma surgery. Methods One hundred laryngeal carcinoma patients (ASAⅠorⅡ) were randomly assigned into 2 groups (n = 50, in each group). Group SF: sufentanil 0.04 mg/(kg·h)+dolasetron 12.5 mg; Group DE: dexmedetomidine 0.1 mg/(kg·h) +sufentani 0.02 mg/(kg· h) +dolasetron 12.5 mg, in which all drugs were dissolved in 100 mL 0.9% normal saline. Parameters: Infusion speed 2 mL/h; PCIA dosage 0.5 mL each time; monitor time: 15 min. PCIA were administrated after anesthesia recovery; BP, HR, SpO2, RR, RPP, pain and sedation score, side effect formation rate at 4、12、24、48 h after surgery were also recorded. Results MAP, RPP and HR in group DE were significant decreased compared with group SF at each time point,(P < 0.05); VAS scores had no significant difference between the two groups(P >0.05); Ramsay calm scores in group DE were significant better than that in group SF at each time point after surgery (P < 0.05); Frequency of nausea, vomiting and chills in group DE were significant lower than those in group SF (P < 0.05). Conclusion Small dose dexmedetomidine combination with sufentanil administration in PCIA after laryngeal carcinoma surgery could acquire satisfied analgesic effect , also could eliminate the patient anxious mood , enhance the security in the perioperative period and improve the patients' satisfaction degree , whichis very suitable for multi mode analgesia acquirement.

Journal of Geriatric Cardiology 2004;1(2):125-128
Objective To evaluate the sensitivity of arterial ketone body ratio as an indicator for multiple organ failure.Materials and methods The experimental model of multiple organ failure was made in adult and old rats by hypoperfusion-induced hemorrhagic shock. After blood sampling, the arterial acetoacetate, β-hydroxybutyrate, total ketone body, ALT, AST, BUN, creatinine at 2, 4, 8 hr in hypoperfusion were examined to compare the differences of ketone body ratio and organ failure between adult and old rats. Hepatic and mitochondrial metabolism were assessed by comparing ketone body ratios (AcAc/β-OHB) and free NAD+/NADH ratios. Results Ketone body ratio in old rats at 2, 4, 8 hr after the induction of hemorrhagic shock decreased from 0.68 to 0.31, 0.27 and 0.22, respectively. In adult rats, it decreased from 1.12 to 0.17, 0.12 and 0.09, respectively. Changes of ketone body ratio in the adult group were larger than in the elderly group ( P < 0.001). The development of multiple organ failure is associated with the time of hemorrhagic shock development. Conclusions There was a different ketone body ratio between multiple organ failure in the elderly (MOFE) and multiple organ failure (MOF) in general adults. Ketone body ratio is a better indicator than ALT and AST in reflecting hepatic function in the early status of MOF. (J Geriatr Cardiol 2004;1(2) :125-128. )

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2016;48(1):121-125
Objective:To evaluate the bone alteration subject to remodeling and analyze the esthetic result following immediate implant placement of incisors. Methods:In this study,20 patients (1 3 women,7 men)were involved, who needed implants for incisors of maxilla. The patients received 23 im-mediate implants totally. On the day of surgery and 6 months after the implants were placed,Cone beam CT (CBCT)was taken. The thickness of the alveolar ridge and the vertical change of marginal bone levels onthe mesial and distal aspects of theimplants were measured using the computer software (Planme-caRomexis Viewer 3.6.0.R).The evaluation of esthetic result by labial convexity score (LCS)and pa-pilla index score (PIS)were analyzed pre-operation and one year after the final crown was delivered. The statistics with paired-t test for the measurement data and Willcoxon test for rating data were done by SPSS 20.0.Results:The survival rate in the two-year follow-up was 1 00%.The measuring point 1 (MP1 ), MP2,MP3 and MP4 (0,2,4,6 mm apical to the implant platform, respectively)got significant altera-tions after 6 months of the follow-up.These differences were statistically significant (P<0.05 ).The major alteration happened at MP1 and MP4,which got (-0.89 ±2.06)mm and (-0.75 ±1 .28)mm reduction of the alveolar, respectively. The marginal alveolar ridge resorption was (-0.42 ±1 .24)mm and(-0.91 ±1 .96)mm for Ankylos System and Replace System, respectively, and the difference was not statistical significant .The esthetic results were quite acceptable. Before treatment,1 8 incisors rated 3 for LCS,and 2 incisors rated 4 for LCS;after final restoration, only 5 incisors rated 3 for LCS,and 1 4 incisors rated 2 for LCS.Before treatment,1 5 incisors rated 3 for PIS;after final restoration,1 3 incisors rated 3 for PIS.There was no statistically significant difference for the PIS pre-operation and 1 year after final restoration, while there was statistically significant negative change for LCS.Conclusion:Even fol-lowing the proper surgical technique, the alveolar ridge wall still can’t be maintained after immediate im-plant placed in fresh socket of incisors. The inter-dental papilla could be well maintained, while due to the remodeling of labial bone, labial convexity will inevitably collapse. Therefore immediate implant still has esthetic risk.
