BACKGROUND:Sufentanil exerts protective effects on tissues, but its roles in the repair of nervous system injury and the underlying mechanism are stil unknown.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the protective effect of sufentanil preconditioning in the repair of spinal cord injuries and the underlying mechanism.
METHODS:Mouse models of spinal cord injuries were prepared through clipping spinal cord fol owed by intraperitoneal injection of 3 and 6μg/kg sufentanil, respectively.
RESULTS AND CONCLUISON:(1) Western blotting, ELISA and TUNEL assays showed that 6μg/kg sufentanil significantly down-regulated the protein expression levels of TLR4, nuclear factor-κBp65, cleaved-caspase 3, tumor necrosis factor-αand interlenkin-1βin the spinal cord of mice (P<0.05);at the same time, the number of apoptotic neurons was significantly decreased (P<0.05). (2) Furthermore, high-dose sufentanil preconditioning significantly ameliorated the recovery of limb function at 14 days after injury (P<0.05). (3) These results administrate that the neuroprotection provided by 6μg/kg sufentanil preconditioning for spinal cord injuries in mice maybe related to the TLR4/nuclear factor-κB signaling pathway inactivation.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons ( PAHs) are ubiquitous environmental pollutants, whose carcinogenicity is determinated. The mechanism of their carcinogenicity: PAHs are able to combine with aryl hydrocarbon hydrocarbon receptor ( AhR ) , resulting in some toxicity and carcinogenicity.AhR is a ligand-dependent activation transcription factor, which is activated by a large variety of ligands, regulating the expression of a series of gene involved in metabolism, and participating in important biological processes, such as singal transduction, cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis, and so on.Besides, it's closely related with the tumor development. Thus, it will provide a new approach for cancer prevention and treatment to study the role of PAHs and AhR in the development of tumor.

ObjectiveTo explore the action of the psychointervension for older hypertensives in community.Methods50 older hypertensives were divided into the experimental group and the control group (with 25 cases in each group),the former received psychointervension combined body therapy and the later only received body therapy. A half of a year experiment period was made. Differences between two groups in blood pressure and SCL-90 before and after the experiment were compared and evaluated.ResultsThe mentation of older hypertensives is worse than the normal. There are distinct differences between two groups in the improvement of mentation and the stability of blood pressure (P<0.01). Conclusions It is an active effect to strengthen psychointervension for therapy of older hypertensives in community.

Proteomic analysis is an effective way to identify protein constituent in Lewy bedy-like inclusions (or aggresome) in vitro. Exposure to synthetic proteasome inhibitor (PSI, 10 μmol/L) for 48 hours was used to induce the formation of cytoplasmic proteineous inclusions (termed as PSi-induced inclusions) in PC12 cells. The proteomic approaches of biochemical fractionation, two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-D) and identification via peptide mass fingerprints (PMF) were deployed, and 20 protein components of LBs were identified,i ncluding 2 proteins involved in the production of synaptic neurotransmitter, 6 subunits of the 26 S proteasome,2 cytoskeleton proteins, 2 subunits of mitochondrial complexes, 1 anti-oxidant protein, and 7 chaperone proteins and (or) chaperone-like proteins. The results suggested that these LB protein components might had been recruited in PSI-induced inclusions formed in PC12 cells under the condition of proteasome inhibition.

Objective To explore the ideal choice of feeding artery which is used for regional arterial infusion (RAI) in severe acute pancreatitis. Methods Forty-five patients with SAP were treated with RAI. The ideal feeding artery was that can supply entire pancreas according to arteriography and can maximize concentration of drug at pancreatic tissue. The pancreatic arteriography was considered as the final objective evidence for choice. Results (1)Gastroduodenal artery was chosen as feeding artery in forty-four cases, and superior mesenterlc artery was chosen in only one case because of vascular abnormity. (2)According to splenic arteriography, blood of splenic artery was supplied to spleen chiefly, and only partial tail of pancreas was applied by splenic artery. (3)According to celiac trunk arteriography, blood of celiac trunk could be supplied to entire pancreas, but a considerable proportion of the total blood was supplied to spleen through splenic artery and liver through hepatic artery proper. Therefore, the drug utilization index was lower. (4)According to gastroduodenal arteriography, blood of gastroduodenal artery could be supplied to entire pancrea, and almost all of the blood that contains drug flowed into pancreas. Therefore, the drug utilization index was higher. Conclusions Gastroduodenal artery is the ideal choice of artery which is used for regional intra-arterial infusion in sever acute pancreatitis. Pancreatic arteriography should be applied routinely when yever acute pancreatitis was treated with RAI.

Quite recently, among new emerging contaminants, pharmaceutical and personal care products(PPCPs)and their active metabolites are an emerging environmental issue, due to their presence in the aquatic environment and potential for impacts on wildlife and humans.Carbamazepine is one of the most frequently and at the relatively high concentration levels detected pharmaceuticals in surface water and even in drinking water. Moreover, this drug has displayed high chronic ecotoxicity.A strain of carbamazepine-degrading bacterium was isolated from activated sludge treating pharmaceutical wastewater in Suzhou,China. It was identified as Acinetobacter sp.HY-7,based on biochemical test,16S rRNA and gyrB gene se-quence analysis.Strain HY-7 could grow in liquid mineral salt medium with carbamazepine as sole source of carbon, nitrogen and energy.HPLC analysis revealed the carbamazepine degradation percentage by HY-7 after 10 days was 48% at pH 6.0 and 25?C.Among carbamazepine and the similar structure compounds,in-dole,catechol,naphthalene,anthracene could also be utilized by strain HY-7 for growth, which exhibited a very broad substrate profile.
