Objective To explore the occurrence of anemia, anaemia type, iron metabolism situation, variation of serum Prealbumin (PA), and the relationship among them in cancer patients. Methods Three hundred and seventy cancer patients, admitted from July 2007 to April 2010 to our hospital, were enrolled into the study. The clinical data of all subjects were analyzed retrospectively. Results The incidence of anemia in 370 patients was 55.67% (206/370). Among all 206 anemia cases,129 cases had mild anaemia and 77 cases had middle to severe anaemia. In the last group ( n = 77 ), we found significant decrease in serum iron level ( [ 8. 37 ± 6. 09 ] μmol/L) and increase in serum ferritin level ( [ 474. 57 ± 327. 58 ] μg/L); and the correlation between serum iron and the anemia degree( Ps < 0. 05 ). However, we found no significant differences of serum ferritin level between the groups with different degree of anemia(P >0. 05). Among all 206 anemia cases ,187(90. 77% ) patients had a low level of serum PA, but no relationship between the degree of anemia and the drop of serum PA ( P > 0. 05 ). Conclusion The anemia was very popular in cancer patients, which had correlation with iron metabolism situation but not PA.

Objective To compare clinical effect and safety of left-double-lumen tube and bron-chial blocker in vedio-assisted atrial fibrillation ablation. Methods Forty-eight patients,26 males and 22 females, aged 45-65 years,ASA physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ,who underwent vedio-assisted atrial fi-brillation ablation were randomly divided into double-lumen tube (group A)and bronchial blocker (group B),with 24 patients in each group. The tube type of group A was left-double-lumen tube. Bronchofiberscope was used for location in every patient. The mean artery pressure (MAP)and heart rate (HR)before intubation, intubation positioning time, peak airway pressure (Ppeak)after 5 min of one-lung ventilation, lung collapse, incidences of hoarseness, pharyngalgia and choke were ob-served.Results Intubation positioning time between two groups was not statistically significant. MAP and HR were significantly increased at intubation positioning time in both groups,to be specif-ic,they were significantly in group A than in group B (P <0.05 ).When left lungs blocked,Ppeak and qualities of lung collapse were not statistically different between the two groups. When right lungs blocked, group A was higher than that in group B (P < 0.05 ).Cough, hoarseness and sore throat were more frequently seen in group A than in group B.Conclusion Both double-lumen tube and bron-chial blocker can be used in video-assisted atrial fibrillation ablation with satisfying effects. As for the quality of lung isolation,double-lumen tube was better than bronchial blocker. However, compared with bronchial blocker,double-lumen tube results in more unstable hemodynamics and higher occur-rence of hoarseness, pharyngalgia and choke.

Objective:To investigate the etiology, clinical characteristics, and treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome/acute my-eloid leukemia (t-MDS/AML) secondary to malignant tumors. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 11 patients with t-MDS/AML and investigated the treatment of primary tumors, clinical manifestations, treatment, and survival of t-MDS/AML patients. Results:A total of 11 patients were exposed to cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents or radiation therapy for their primary tumors. The median laten-cy was 36 months. Common symptoms were fatigue, dyspnea, bleeding, and infection, all of which were related to deficits in hemato-poiesis. Therapeutic regimen included support therapy, immunomodulatory therapy, and chemotherapy. The median overall survival and disease-free survival periods were 28 months and 19 months, respectively, and the overall survival rate for 3 years was 44.4%. Conclu-sion:t-MDS/AML is a serious complication of chemotherapy or radiotherapy for a malignant or nonmalignant condition. The curative effect is limited, and prognosis is poor. Therefore, we should take t-MDS/AML into consideration when making treatment plans for can-cer patients to evaluate treatment benefits and to avoid treatment-related complications.

Deciphering the metabolites of multiple components in herbal medicine has far-reaching significance for revealing pharmacodynamic ingredients. However, most chemical components of herbal medicine are secondary metabolites with low content whose in vivo metabolites are close to trace amounts, making it difficult to achieve comprehensive detection and identification. In this paper,an efficient strategy was proposed:herb-derived metabolites were predicted according to the structural characteristics and metabolic reactions of chemical constituents in Corydalis Rhizoma and chemical structure screening tables for metabolites were conducted. The fragmentation patterns were summarized from represen-tative standards combining with specific cleavage behaviors to deduce structures of metabolites.Ion abundance plays an important role in compound identification, and high ion abundance can improve identification accuracy. The types of metabolites in different biological samples were very similar, but their ion abundance might be different. Therefore, for trace metabolites in biological samples,we used the following two methods to process:metabolites of high dose herbal extract were analyzed to char-acterize those of clinical dose herbal extracts in the same biological samples;cross-mapping of different biological samples was applied to identify trace metabolites based on the fact that a metabolite has different ion abundance in different biological samples.Compared with not using this strategy,44 more metabolites of clinical dose herbal extract were detected. This study improved the depth, breadth, and accuracy of current methods for herb-derived metabolites characterization.
