Twenty-three bacteriologically positive leprosy patients were randomly selected from a leprosarium, randomly divided into four treatment groups, and given vaying dosages of Isoprodian, the tablet contained INAH 175mg, Prothionamide 175mg and DDS 50 mg, for five months. A 22-year-old-male patient has numerous brownish-black, soft follicular papules which compatible with acne are scattered on the chest, scapular regions, back and buttocks for 4 5 years duration. Biopsy specimen revealed cystic structures in the mid-dermis lined by squamous cell epithelium w4ich contained laminated keratinous material and varying number of vellus hairs, histopathologically, compatible with diagnosis of eruptive vellus hair cysts. Twenty one units of platelet-rich plasma(PRP) were prepared from healthy volunteer blood donors, and each unit of the PRP was divided into two aliquots by using transfer bags. Using SEPACELLTM leukocyte-removal filters, each one aliquot of the PRP was filtered immediately after preparation, and the other aliquot was filtered after a 48-hour storage at a room temperature with continuous agitation. Belbre and after filtration, platelet numbers and two platelet activation markers, CD62 and CD63, were measured using hematologic autoanalyzer and'flow cytometry, respectively. The results were as follows: 1. The platelet numbers in the PRP were reduced after filtration. 2. On the point of the preparation of PRP, the mean percentage of CD63-posititve platelets(s32.86+/- 11.3.5%) was highehr than that of CD62-positive platelets(14.63+/-11.22%). 3. When filtered immediately after preparation of PRP, the CD62-positive platelets were significantly reduced(13.23+/-10.43%), however, CD63-positive platelets were not significantly reduced(29.83+/-11.05%). 4. After 48-hour storage, both two activation markers were increased, and the markers were significantly higher in the PRPs stored after filtration than in those stored without filtration. In conclusion CD63 would be a more sensitive platelet activation marker than CD62, and the platelets expressing CD62 seemed to be removed more than those expressing CD63 during filtration.

A 59-year-old male farmer, an alcohol addict, has experienced repeated bullous skin lesions on the erythematous base over the exposed areas of tbe skin, especially on the face and hands, after sun-light exposure. The face showed hyperpigmenation, hypertrichosis and sclerodermoid changes. And also there were hypopigmented scars on the dorsum of the hands and cIaw-1ike fingers. Characteristic laboratory findings were as follows: Urine appeared portwine color and fluoresced under the Woods Iight. A 24-hour urine collection contamed 4l32ug of uroporphyrin and 3815ug of corproporphyrin. BSP retention(7% in 45 Min.) was increased, and A/G ratio(0. 8:1) was inverted. Gamma globulin(44, 9%) was markedly increased on serum electrophoresis. Roentgenograms revealed minimal tuberculosis on the chest P-A and superficial gastritis on the upper G-I series. Electrocardiogram showed left ventricular hypertrophy. Pathological findings of the specimen obtained from sclerodermoid lesion of the forehead revealed hypermelanosis in the basal cell layer and amorphous, basophilic collagen degeneration in the upper dermis, on the other hand loss of sinusoids due to swelling of hepatocytes and chomic inflammatory cell infiltrate in the interlobular septa were noticed on the specimen taken from the liver. For treatment, phlebotomy and metabolic alkalinization were trjed.

Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a relatively rare, but is a well known tumor that occurs almost in male, most frequently during the adolescent stage. Its character is histologically benign but clinically malignant because of locally invasive character to the adjascent structures, massive bleeding tendency during surgical procedure and high recurrence rate after treatment. Recently many advancements diagnostic method and surgical technique has reached satisfactory result in treating this difficult tumor. The authors present a case of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma in 16 years old male patient, who was received surgical removal of the tumor through the transpalatal approach after full diagnostic evaluation and preoperative hormonal therapy.
