Korean Journal of Urology 1985;26(6):622-626
To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of excretory urography, results were reviewed in 60 patients with chronic epididymitis. In 37 patients(of total 60 cases) who have neither scrotal fistula nor hematuria (microscopic or gross) nor positive urine AFB staining, there was no tuberculous finding in excretory urography. And findings consistent with renal tuberculosis were found in 11 cases (73% ) of 15 patients with scrotal fistula, in 9 cases (75%) of 12 patients with hematuria and in 4 cases (80%) of 5 patients with positive urine AFB staining. Therefore, routine use excretory urography in chronic epididymitis is revealing neither scrotal fistula nor hematuria nor positive AFB in urine is not always necessary for detection of renal tuberculosis in terms of cost effectiveness.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1982;17(2):283-292
The congenital dislocation of the hip is one of the most common congenital disease in the field of the orthopedic surgery. For the normal development of the acetabulum and femoral head, the displaced femoral head shouid be replaced in the acetabular socket as early as possible. In most cases treated in proper time, closed reduction is successful. If not, operative correction will almost always be necessary due to abnormal changes of the acetabulum and femoral head. We experienced 33 cases in 32 patients of the congenital dislocation of the hip at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery of Hanyang University Hospital from May, 1972 to December, 1980. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The most common aged group at the first visit was ranged from 12 months to 24 months and the preponderance of girl to boy was 3.6:1. 2. The ratio of left to right side was 1.6:1. 3. In delivery history, there were 3 cases of breech presentation, 1 case of Cesarean section and 1 case of prematurity. The associated congenital anomaly was observed in a case of which combined internal tibial torsion and talipes metatarsus varus deformity. 4. In 33 cases in 32 patients, 22 cases were treated conservatively and 11 cases were treated surgically. The results of treatment were excellent in 21 cases, good in 11 cases and fair in 11 case. We experienced 4 cases of neglected congenital dislocation of the hip in the period of late childhood, 3 cases were treated with Chiari osteotomy and the other 1 case was treated with Colonna capsular arthroplasty. The overall results were excellent.

3.A Case Report of Klippel-Trenaunay-Parkes Weber Syndrome.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1971;9(2):15-22
The patient was a 24-year-old Korean man with an extensive nevus flammeus over the rigbt buttock, penis, leg, ankle and dorsal aspect of foot. Varicose veins on the flexor aspect of mid-portion of lower extremity of right side are noted remarkable hypertrophy of the soft tissue and bones are also found on the area where hemangioma is associated with them. Radiological examination of spine, pelvic, femur, tibia and fibula bones showed longer and thicker in affected side (right) than unaffected (left), and vertebral bones showed compensatory scoliosis-convexity to the left (normal side)and damage of vertebral bodies at the level of L-3, 4, 5. These are well established and described as Klippel-Trenaunay-Parkes Weber Syndrome by Klippel, Trenaunay and Parkes-Weber. Authors are made extensive review of literatures of the syndrome and discussions on the type, varient, heredity, sex, onset of age, affected location, racial distribution, right name of syndrorne and differential diagnosis of the syndrome.

4.The influence of stabilization splint on condylar position and craniofacial morphology.
Young Jooh YOON ; Kwang Won KIM
Korean Journal of Orthodontics 1995;25(6):675-688
The purposes of this study were: 1) to determine the normal range of CR-CO discrepancy in normal occlusion group: 2) to evaluate the changes of condylar position and craniofacial morphology between centric relation and centric occlusion before and after stabilization splint therapy in malocclusion group outside the normal range of CR-CO discrepancy. The normal occlusion group consisted of 80 subjects who had well-balanced faces and good occlusions with acceptable Class I molar relationship. They had not been treated orthodontic ally and had no signs or symptoms of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. 71 malocclusion patients enrolled for orthodontic treatment at the Department of Orthodontics, College of Dentistry, Chosun University comprised the malocclusion group, little variation of growth factor by the second molar eruption. They had CR-CO discrepancy beyond normal range and were subdivided into anterior-posteriorly -[25 Class I (0

5.Prognostic Indicators in Tibial Shaft Fractures ; Serum Creatine Kinase Acticity

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1995;30(4):1016-1020
Serum creatine phosphokinase(CPK) levels were measured serially in 20 adults with closed tibial shaft fractures, CPK activity increased significantly after fracture(p < 0.01). High energy and delayed healing fractures had significantly higher levels of CPK than low energy and normally healing fractures, respectively. Thus, CPK determinations could be used to assess the severity of trauma and possible prognosis of the healing in tibial shaft fractures.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1998;32(2):150-152
Lymphoepithelial carcinoma is a rare subtype of undifferentiated carcinoma in the salivary gland. The incidence of lymphoepithelial carcinoma is about 0.4% among the patients with major salivary gland tumors. It has a racial preference; about 75% of the patients are of Mongolian ancestry. We report a case of lymphoepithelial carcinoma arising in the left parotid gland of a 52-year-old man. Grossly, the tumor was relatively well demarcated, gray-white, and solid. Microscopically, the irregular shaped syncytial tumor cell islands were evident within lymphoplasma cell-rich and desmoplastic stroma. The carcinoma cells had large vesicular nuclei and prominent nucleoli. The tumor invaded the surrounding salivary gland tissue. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) was demonstrated by in situ hybridization for EBV-encoded RNA-1 (EBER-1) and polymerase chain reaction for EBV nuclear antigen-1 (EBNA-1).

Annals of Dermatology 2001;13(1):52-54
We report a case of eosinophilic pustular folliculitis in a 6-month-old male infant who had pruritic, tiny, erythematous papulopustules on his scalp and eosinophilia in the peripheral blood. Histopathologic examination revealed an acute follicu1ar and perifollicular inflammatory infiltrate with abundant eosinophils. The patient responded to systemic and topical corticosteroid and dapsone.
