This study was undertaken to observe the effects of organic or inorganic calcium antagonists and to investigate the involvement of cyclic nucleotides in regulating the vascular tone in the chorionic artery from normal or preeclamptic placenta. KCI and prostaglandin (PG) F2 alpha produced marked and constant contractions in chorionic arterial preparations of both normal and preeclamptic placentas. Nifedipine (NIF), verapamil (VER) and diltiazem (DIL) reduced the tension that had been produced by KCI and PGF2 alpha in a concentration-dependent fashion in both preparations, and the potency order of the three agents was NIF> VER > DIL. In preeclamptic arteries, however, the magnitudes of vasodilatation induced by NIF and DIL were much smaller than those in normal chorionic arteries. Mg2+ and Cd2+ also relaxed the tension induced by KCI and PGF2 alpha. In preeclamptic chorionic artery, the vasodilatation induced by Mg2+ was significantly potentiated, while that by Cd2+ was not. Removing endothelium did not alter cyclic GMP content in both preparations. In both preparations contracted by PGF2 alpha, nitroprusside markedly increased cyclic GMP content, but neither cyclic GMP nor cyclic AMP content was affected by acetylcholine, NIF, isopro-terenol, or Mg2+. The above results suggest that neither cyclic AMP nor cyclic GMP is involved in regulating the vascular tone of chorionic artery and that sensitivity of the artery in preeclampsia to the inhibitory action of calcium antagonist might be different from that in normal placenta.

7.Long-term Outcome of Combined Laser-assisted Subepithelial Keratomileusis and Accelerated Corneal Crosslinking for Myopia
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 2021;62(4):439-446
Purpose:
We compared clinical outcomes between combined laser-assisted subepithelial keratomileusis and accelerated collagen cross-linking (Avedro-LASEK), and LASEK alone.
Methods:
This retrospective study analyzed 38 eyes of 19 patients who had undergone Avedro-LASEK, and 34 eyes of 17 patients who received LASEK alone. Uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), spherical equivalent (SE), keratometry, and corneal inflammation were evaluated preoperatively, and at 1 week, 1, 3, and 6 months, and 1 and 2 years after surgery.
Results:
The Avedro-LASEK group had a higher preoperative SE (p < 0.05) and thinner central cornea compared with the control group (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference in UDVA, SE stability or keratometry between the two groups during the 2-year follow-up period. At the 2-year follow-up, the SE was ± 0.25 diopter (D) in 92% of the Avedro-LASEK patients and ± 0.5 D in 90.2% of the LASEK patients. Both groups showed high levels of refractive predictability. There was no significant difference between the flat K (p = 0.38) and steep K (p = 0.56) rates over time between the two groups. Corneal haze was observed in 21% of eyes in the Avedro-LASEK group, but neither decreased vision nor ectasia was observed during the follow-up period.
Conclusions
During the 2-year follow-up period, there were no significant differences in any parameters between the Avedro-LASEK and LASEK patients, and both procedures are considered effective for myopia correction because of their stability and effectiveness.

This is a case report of double primary malignant cancer occurred aynchronously in the stomach and lymphoid tissue, We report this case with review of literatures about the criteria, age distribution, predisposing factor, inidence, immunity and susceptibility of the primary malignant neoplasms. This case was a 59-year-old man who had Hodgkins disease and tubular adenocarcinoma, of the stomach. The diagnoais was verified histologically, Although multiple primary neoplaas are rare, the possibility of that must be conaidered seriously, And its hereditary predisposition and other predisposing factor muat be researched with enthuaiasm.
