Journal of Korean Neuropsychiatric Association 2001;40(5):867-875
OBJECTIVES: School bullying is known to be related to behavioral, emotional and social problems both in victims and perpetrators. The aims of this study are to develop a Korean-Peer Nomination Inventory(K-PNI), which can identify victims and perpetrators of school bullying in an objective and effective way, and to examine its reliability and validity. METHODS: Fourth to 6 th graders of two elementary schools in An Yang city completed K-PNI, Peer Acceptance Scale and Self-Perception Scale. Varimax Rotation Factor Analysis, Cronbach's Alpha Reliability Analysis and Pearson's Correlational Analysis were performed for statistical analyses. RESULTS: Total of 532 students(male:female=1:1;4 th:5 th:6 th grader=1:1:1.2) participate in this study. Factor analysis showed that K-PNI identified victims and perpetrators of school bullying effectively with excellent reliability(Chrobach's alpha;0.90-0.94). Victims were further divided into two categories;passive bullying including exclusion and verbal abuse, and active bullying including physical abuse and being forced. K-PNI, Peer acceptance scale and Self-perception scale were significantly correlated, reflecting its validity identifying victims and perpetrators of school bullying. CONCLUSION: K-PNI is an effective tool with excellent reliability and validity to identify victims and perpetrators of school bullying. K-PNI is expected to be a useful tool in future studies of school bullying and school violence.

Asian Oncology Nursing 2012;12(1):92-99
PURPOSE: The study was to examine the relationships between stress, ways of coping and burnout among family caregivers of cancer patients. METHODS: Data were collected by self-reported questionnaires from 207 family caregivers of cancer patients at one university hospital and one general hospital in Busan, Korea. The instruments included a Stress Scale, a Ways of Coping Scale and a Burnout Scale. The collected data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and Pearson's correlation coefficients with the SPSS WIN 19.0 program. RESULTS: Stress was found to have significant relationships with age, relation to the patient, education, monthly income, degree of care-giving, financial burden and activities of daily living of patient. In active coping, there were significant differences according to education and religion. Passive coping was significantly related to gender. In burnout, there were significant differences according to age, relation to the patient, education, occupational status, monthly income, degree of care-giving, financial burden and activities of daily living of patient. Stress and burnout showed a positive correlation, while there was a negative correlation between burnout and active coping. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that promoting active coping would better support family caregivers of cancer patients in managing burnout effectively.

Journal of Korean Neuropsychiatric Association 2003;42(3):352-359
OBJECTIVES: Identifying children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and providing early therapeutic interventions for them are important to prevent secondary problems in academic achievement and emotional disturbances. The aims of the study is to examine the characteristics of K-ARS for parents and teachers, a screening questionnaire to identify children with ADHD, by age and sex of the children, to examine its clinical validity, and to provide norm data of K-ARS for school-aged children which will facilitate the use of K-ARS in clinical practice and research. METHODS: Randomly selected 1st to 6th graders of the two elementary schools (N=1044) in Anyang City participated in this study. Twenty three children diagnosed with ADHD at the child and adolescent clinic at the Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital were included in this study for the analysis of validity. Parents and teachers completed K-ARS. Descriptive statistics, t-test and analysis of variance were performed. RESULTS: K-ARS scores showed significant difference according to the gender, with boys having higher scores than girls. There was no significant difference of the scores by ages. Validity analysis showed that K-ARS distinguishes children with ADHD from children without ADHD well. The normative data were presented by age and sex. CONCLUSION: K-ARS for parents and teachers has an excellent clinical validity to discriminate children with ADHD from children without ADHD. Different normative data of K-ARS need to be used due to the gender difference. K-ARS is a useful tool for screening and identifying children with ADHD. Future studies are required to include larger samples with adolescents in various geographic areas.

4.Factors Associated with Mental Health-related Quality of Life in Workers
Korean Journal of Occupational Health Nursing 2020;29(3):173-183
Purpose:
The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with the mental health-related quality of life (MHQoL) of Korean workers.
Methods:
This was a cross-sectional study of 192 Korean pay workers who worked in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province, Korea. Data were collected from May 15 to July 2, 2019, through selfreported questionnaires. The survey had a total of 87 questions including individual, organizational, and psychosocial factors. MHQoL was measured using short form-36 version 1. Data were divided into four domains of MHQoL and analyzed using a hierarchical linear regression model.
Results:
From the hierarchical linear regression analysis, when the psychosocial factors were included in the regression model, the R 2 change in the four domains of MHQoL increased significantly by 19~47%. A common predicting factor associated with the four domains of MHQoL was identified as perceived stress symptoms. Other factors affecting MHQoL showed slight differences in each domain.
Conclusion
Based on the study results, it is necessary to monitor the psychosocial symptoms to improve MHQoL of Korean workers. Considering each factor affecting the four areas of MHQoL, workplace-based interventions to improve MHQoL should be provided to workers.
5.A Delphi Study on Plans to Revitalize Occupational Health Nursing at Industrial Worksites
Korean Journal of Occupational Health Nursing 2021;30(3):90-100
Purpose:
The study aimed to identify plans to revitalize occupational health nursing at industrial worksites.
Methods:
First, a literature review was conducted to derive the questions. Next, we used the Delphi method with two rounds to obtain experts’ opinions. The 15 expert participants were seven occupational health nurses and eight professors from nursing colleges.
Results:
The analysis of opinions indicated that occupational health nurses should be competent in clinical nursing care to perform health management and health promotion activities of workers. It is necessary to develop high-quality occupational nursing services that can prevent and manage occupational diseases and work-related illnesses. Moreover, an improved system for stable employment of these nurses should be implemented.
Conclusion
This study confirmed that occupational health nursing is an independent and important area for improving workers' disease prevention and health promotion. It will provide basic data for initiating occupational health nursing and expanding the role of the occupational health nurses.

Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 1999;17(4):597-601
Regardless of an appropriate radiation therapy administered to a patient with a brain tumor, clinical and radiological evidence of progression may still develop because of a recurrence of the tumor and/or radiation necrosis, or even rarely, a radiation induced neoplasm. The evaluation of tumor recurrence and radiation-induced necrosis presents a diagnostic challenge. A thirty eight year old woman was treated for a focal motor seizure on the right side of her face.with a fractionated external beam radiotherapy under the impression of cystic astrocytoma in the left frontoparietal region. After 6 months, she developed a headache, nausea and vomiting, dysphagia, and secondary generalized seizure. A follow-up brain MRI showed a high signal mass lesion in a T2 weighted image and a fluorodeoxyglucose PET revealed hypometabolism in the left frontoparietal lobe, suggesting radionecrosis. It was confirmed as radionecrosis with an expanding edema by open biopsy. We report a cerebral radiation necrosis mimicking recurrent brain tumor.

Journal of the Korean Pediatric Cardiology Society 2001;5(1):42-48
PURPOSE: Isolated noncompaction of the ventricular myocardium(INVM) can present as heart failure or arrhythmias in a child. It is a rare disorder, characterized by prominent trabecular meshwork and deep intertrabecular recesses. We still know little about the diagnosis, symptoms, and clinical outcomes of INVM. METHODS: We included in our study 6 patients who showed ventricular noncompaction on echocardiography. Patients were diagnosed as INVM were excessively prominent trabeculations with deep intertrabecular recesses were found on echocardiography. Patients who had other complex heart lesions such as pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum in addition to ventricular noncompaction, were excluded. RESULTS: Age at presentation ranged from 1 day 7 years, with follow up being as long as 6 years. Symptoms at initial presentation were heart murmur, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, cyanosis, feeding intolerance, ventricular tachycardia, and cardiomegaly at fetal screening. Prominent trabeculations and intertrabecular recesses were observed at left ventricular apex in all six patients. All patients were alive at last follow-up. One patient showed WPW syndrome on electrocardiography. Echocardiography revealed decreased systolic function in 4 patients, and decreased systolic and diastolic function in 1 patient. One patient is currently asymptomatic. CONCLUSION: Six patients were diagnosed with INVM with various symptoms at initial presentation. Echocardiography is the most important tool in the diagnosis of INVM due to its morphological characteristics. INVM can rarely be the cause of long term systolic dysfunction, and early detection by echocardiographic screening may be beneficial.

Korean Journal of Preventive Medicine 1998;31(4):592-603
This study was conducted to estimate incidence rate of female breast cancer in a defined area of Chungchongbuk-do in Korea. The presumptive breast cancer cases were selected from two different sources, i.e., medical utilization database of the National Health Insurance Corporation and the database from the National Cancer Registry. Medical students visited each hospital where the presumptive cases had been treated as a breast cancer patient, and made a dictation of medical record of each patient based on the claims stored in the Insurance Corporation from January to December 1995. The diagnoses in the claims included one of the following diagnostic codes; ICD-9 174-175(malignant neoplasms of the breast), 233(carcinoma in situ of the breast and genito-urinary system)or ICD-10 C50(malignant neoplasms of the breast), D05(carcinoma in situ of the breast and genito-urinary system). Each case has been confirmed as having a breast cancer by a breast surgeon through a medical record review. Age-standardized incidence rate of female breast cancer to the Korean population was estimated to be 10.5(95%confidence interval : 8.1-12.9)per 100,000 persons in 1995. Age-standardized rate to the world population was 9.8 per 100,000 persons, and the truncated rate for ages 35-64 was 27.2 per 100,000 persons. Validity of these estimates is discussing in comparison with previous methods of incidence estimation in Korea.

The Journal of the Korean Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology 2004;22(3):177-183
PURPOSE: Authors would report the results of sequential CHOP chemotherapy (cyclophosphamide, adriamycin, vincristine, and prednisone) and involved field radiotherapy (IFRT) for early stage nasal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (NKTCL). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Fourteen among 17 patients, who were registered at the Samsung Medical Center tumor registry with stage I and II nasal NKTCL from March 1995 to December 1999 received this treatment protocol. Three to four cycles of CHOP chemotherapy were given at 3 weeks' interval, which was followed by local IFRT including the known tumor extent and the adjacent draining lymphatics. RESULTS: Favorable responses after chemotherapy (before IFRT) were achievable only in seven patients (5 CR's+2 PR's: 50%), while seven patients showed disease progression. There were six patients with local failures, two with distant relapses, and none with regional lymphatic failure. The actuarial overall survival and progression-free survival at 3 years were 50.0% and 42.9%. All the failures and deaths occurred within 13 months of the treatment start. The factors that correlated with the improved survival were the absence of 'B' symptoms, the favorable response to chemotherapy and overall treatment, and the low risk by international prognostic index on univariate analyses. CONCLUSION: Compared with the historic treatment results by IFRT either alone or followed by chemotherapy, the current trial failed to demonstrate advantages with respect to the failure pattern and survival. Development of new treatment strategy in combining IFRT and chemotherapy is required for improving outcomes.
