Mesenchymal Chondrcsarcoma is a rare malignant tumor originally described by Lichtenstein and Bernstein in 1959. Since the original description, several other reports of this tumor have been published, bringing the total numbers of cases in the literature to about Sixty-five. We report a case of Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma in an 11-year-old boy who complained of a palpable mass in the region of the left iliac crest.

The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics 2009;1(3):124-128
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: How the ISQ values measured by Osstell(TM) and Osstell(TM) Mentor are related, and whether the ISQ values acquired from the two machines changes in accordance with changes in implant stability are not yet fully understood. PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to find out correlation between the ISQ values acquired from Osstell(TM) and Osstell(TM) Mentor, and to evaluate the clinical effectiveness and accuracy of two devices. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Sixty two implants were inserted into 47 patients, and their ISQ values were measured using Osstell(TM) and Osstell(TM) Mentor. In the first stage surgery, the ISQ values of forty four implants inserted into thirty five patients were measured. In the second stage surgery, the values of fifty implants inserted into thirty seven patients were measured. The values were analyzed to determine the difference between the mean ISQ values of Osstell(TM) and Osstell(TM) Mentor. In addition, the correlation between implants used in the first and second stage of surgery with regard to their types and areas of insertion were analyzed. The difference between the ISQ values of 32 implants in each patient during the first and second stage was analyzed. The statistical assessment was carried out using SPSS V. 12.0 for Win. (SPSS Inc., Chicago, USA). The Pearson correlation coefficient was used to examine the correlation between Osstell(TM) and Osstell(TM) Mentor in the first and second stages of surgery, whereas the difference between their ISQ values was evaluated using a paired t-test. RESULTS: In the first stage, the mean ISQ value for Osstell(TM) and Osstell(TM) Mentor was 70.84 and 75.09, respectively, showing a significant difference (P < .01). In the second stage, the mean ISQ value of Osstell(TM) and Osstell(TM) Mentor was 71.76 and 75.94, respectively, also showing a significant difference (P < .01). The difference between the ISQ values in patients in the first and the second stages was significant with both instruments. CONCLUSION: The significant difference in the values obtained using the Osstell(TM) and Osstell(TM) Mentor between the first and second stages of implant surgery indicates that these values can be a convenient and precise way for evaluating the implant stability in clinical practice.

We studied the degenerative changes of acetabulum, examining the acetabular articular cartilage at weight bearing dome area from the hips of 25 avascular necrosis of femoral head cases. Histological- histochemical studies demonstrated 4 mild, 19 moderate and 2 severe grade of degenerative arthritic change. This has confirm that even in early stage of avascular necrosis of femoral head, there are degenerative arthritis in acetabular cartilage. This may influence the prognosis of bipolar hemiarthro- plasty in avascular necrosis of femoral head patient.

With increasing tendency of incidence and interest for the late onset schzophrenia, concerns about whether this disorder is etiologically or phenomenogically distinctive entity or not have increased also. To clarify the disease entity of the late onset schzophrenia and the role of structural brain changes in its etiology, authors tried to prove following hypothesis : Are there any evidences of structural brain changes in the late-onset schizophrenia? ; If present, are they not different from those of the early-onset schizophrenia or progressive schizophrenia? ; And are they not different from those of senile dementia? Subjects were 6 patients with the late-onset schizophrenia, 6 patients with the early-onset schizophrenia, 6 patients with progressive schizophrenia, 6 patients with Alzheimer's dementia, and 6 controls. We measured regions of interest of the magnetic resonance images by computer assisted planimetry using the AutoCad and digitizer. Our study results may suggest that the third ventricular enlargement and a reversal of normal difference between left and right temporal lobe and left-right difference in posterior lateral ventricle are common brain pathology for all type of schizophrenia including the late onset schzophrenia. And also suggest that brain structural changes of the late onset schizophrenia are related with neurodevelopmental abnormality rather than degenerative change.

Accurate reproduction of intraoral tissue is essential in the fabrication of fixed prosthesis. This selection of impression material and method is very important. In this study, vinyl polysiloxane type impression material Panasil was used. Three impression methods ; one-step technique, individual tray technique, and individual tooth tray technique using the vinyl polysiloxane type bite registration material Futar Occlusion, were used to take horizontal and vertical impression. Improved stone models were fabricated. The amount of occlusal surface discrepaneies, interabutment distance discrepancies, amount of marginal defect were evaluated with the X-PLAN360d and photoscanning. The results were as follows. 1. There was no significant difference in occlusal surface according to the directions and techniques of impression taking. 2. There was no significant difference in interabutment distance discrepancies according to the directions and techniques of impression taking 3. There was no significant difference in marginal discrepancies according to the direction of impression taking but there was significant difference between one-step technique and individual tray technique, individual tooth tray technique (P<0.05). Taken together, these results suggest that individual tray technique and individual tooth tray technique are more accurate for impression taking than one-step technique.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1992;30(4):539-542
Porokeratosis is an uncommon autosomally dominant inher ted disorder. Clinically, it is characterized by nonhealing plaques that develop most comnorly on the limbs. We report a case of disseminated superficial porokeratosis in immunosuppre sed kidney transplant recipient. An abrupt and extensive eruption of porokeratosis was observed in a 46-year-old man 7 months after renal transplantation, while being treated with cyclosporin A and prednisone. The histological features were essentially the same as the typical cornoid lamella. Immunosuppression may exacerbate or initiate the developm nt of porokeratosis in patients predisposed to alterations of cutaneous growth dynamics.
