Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1995;33(3):351-356
PURPOSE: To describe the characteristic CT findings of ameloblastomas in the mandibleand maxilla. MATERIALS AND METHODS: CT findings of 11 patients with ameloblastoma (9 cases in the mandible and 2 cases in the maxilla) proved by excisional biopsy were evaluated retrospectively with regard to the location, size, multilocularity, solid and cystic component, cortical destruction, soft tissue invasion, and contrast enhancement RESULTS: These were 8 multilculer expansile and I unicystic (developed in a dentigerous cyst) mandibler ameloblasftomas, and 2 unilocular maxillary ameloblasftomas. All cases showed inhomogenously enhancing solid component, nine of which were larger than cystic component. Nine cases, larger than 5 cm in diameter, revealed either a focal or extensive cortical destruction with various degree of invasion into the adjacent structures. One maxillary ameloblastoma contained a thick calcification along the margin of the lesion. CONCLUSION: Maxillomandibular ameloblastomas appeared as expansile lesion containing enhancing solid component relatively larger than cystic portion and having cortical destruction in large lesions(5cm>). Maxillary ameloblastomas were unilocular in appearance in spite of multilocularity in mandibular counterparts.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1993;27(3):290-292
Microcystic adenxal carcinoma is an unusual, locally aggressive neoplasm that has recently been recongized as a clincopathologic entity. Its histologic appearance includes both pilar and eccrine differentiation. Microscopically, the tumor consisted of small cysts and gland-like structures in superficial portion. In other area, basaloid cell nests and abortive hair follicles in the sclerotic stroma were seen. The cysts were filled with secretory eosinophilic material, which was positively stained with Periodic acid-Schiff and carcinoembryonic antigen. Immuno-peroxidase staining for carcinoembryonic antigen supported the dual differnetiation of this neoplasm. Despite the benign histologic appearance, there was deep and extensive infiltration of the subcutaneous tissue.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1988;22(1):92-96
Malignant mixed mullerian tumor of the fallopian tube is an extremely rare neoplasm. To date, only 26 cases of primary malignant mixed mullerian tumor of the fallopian tube have been reported, and no report has been published in Korea. This is not surprising, since as a group these meoplasms are least likely to occur in the fallopian tube; the most common sites being the endometrium, vagina, cervix and ovary. We report a case of malignant mixed mullerian tumor of the fallopian tube ina 63-year-old woman with brief review of the literatures.

4.Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and Burnout of Healthcare Providers who cared for Patients with Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) in a Tertiary General Hospital
Journal of Korean Critical Care Nursing 2022;15(3):101-114
Purpose:
: This study aimed to identify post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and burnout experienced by healthcare providers who cared for patients with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and their influencing factors.
Methods:
: Data were collected from 135 healthcare providers who cared for patients with COVID-19 in a tertiary general hospital from June 8 to September 2, 2021, using a questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe’s test, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and multiple regression were used for analysis using SPSS/WIN 27.0.
Results:
: Participants’ average PTSD score was 9.31 ± 11.80, and 8.9% were in the high-risk group. Participants’ average burnout score was 51.77±21.28, and 62.2% were at high risk. PTSD scores differed significantly according to participants’ age, education, job, position, and current workplace. Burnout scores differed significantly according to their age, gender, marital status, parental status, and education. There was positive correlation between participants’ PTSD and burnout. The factors influencing participants’ PTSD were term of self-isolation and age (R2=.09). There were no significant influencing factors on participants’ burnout.
Conclusion
: This study reconfirmed that healthcare providers who cared for patients with COVID-19 experienced both PTSD and burnout, suggesting that interventions are needed such as regular pre-training or simulation training and establishing a support system.

Specific bone signal abnormalities of MRI of patient with knee injury, although plain radiographs are normal, suggest that ACL injury may be present. Twenty eight MRI examinations in which ACL injury were present, were retrospectively reviewed and were correlated with bone signal changes. The results obtained were as follows; 1. Of twenty eight ACL injuries seen with MR imaging, bone signal abnormality was present at the lateral femoral condyle (LFC) in 8 patients (29%), at the posterolateral tibial plateau in 10patients (36%) and at both sites in 5 patients (18%). 2. In acute knee injury, all seven patients with complete ACL tear had bone signal abnormalities at MRI and of all seven patients, six patients showed bone signal abnormalities at lateral femoral condylar or posterolateral tibial plateau. 3. In conclusion, bone signal abnormalities at posterolateral tibia or lateral femoral condyle are present in almost cases of acute complete ACL tear. Therefore the bone signal abnormalities suggest that there may be ACL injury.

For seven years from 1962 to 1968, fecal specimens of the patients were examined not only for the discovery of intestinal protozoa and helminths, but also to provie data on the incidence of intestinal parasites among the residents of Kyungpook Province, Korea. The Formalin-ether sedimentation, Lugol solution, and Heidenhain's iron-hematoxylin stained films were prepared for the recovery of intestinal parasites. Of 2,414 samples of feces examined, 35.7 percent were found to be infected with one or more species of protozoa. Among six species of protozoa detected, Entamoeba coli was observed most frequently(15.3%) followed by Entamoeba histolytica (11.9%), and then the Enteromonas hominis least often(1 case). For the survey of helminth, of a total of 5,288 fecal specimens examined, 86.7 percent were positive for one or more species of helminths. Trichocephalus trichiurus revealed the highest infection rate (83.6%), while Trichostrongylus orientalis was next (61.6%), and Ascaris lumbricoides was unexpectedly low(40.9%). The incidence for hookworm and Clonorchis sinensis was 22.4 percent and 29.8 percent respectively. Triple infections were found more frequently than double infections, and mixed infections of six or more species of helminths were observed in 3.8 percent of specimens.

Journal of Korean Neuropsychiatric Association 2011;50(5):362-367
OBJECTIVES: In this study, we examined the relationship between attachment style, alexithymia, marital satisfaction, and depressive symptoms in married couples. METHODS: We administered the Korean version of Experiences in Close Relationships questionnaire-Revised (K-ECR-R), Korean version of the 20-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20K), Revised-Dyadic Adjustment Scale (R-DAS), Korean version of the Beck Depression Inventory (K-BDI), and to 105 men and 115 women in the community. The data was analyzed with correlation analysis between related variables, and the regression analysis method of Baron and Kenny (1986) was used. RESULTS: The current study assumes that alexithymia mediates between attachment style and marital satisfaction, and these factors influence depressive symptoms. The results were as follows : 1) alexithymia mediated perfectly between attachment anxiety style and marital satisfaction and 2) alexithymia, and marital satisfaction had significant influences on depressive symptoms. Attachment avoidance style was excluded for dissatisfaction with the assumption of the regression analysis method of Baron and Kenny (1986). CONCLUSION: These results suggest that attachment style, alexithymia, and marital satisfaction seem to be important factors in depressive symptoms among married people. These results suggest that different interventions according to attachment style may helpful for the enhancement of marital satisfaction and the reduction of the depressive symptoms of married couples.
