1.Deficit of social cognition with patients following the temporal lobes infarction

Objective To investigate the ability of social cognition in patients with right temporal lobe infarction.Methods Fifteen patients with temporal lobe infarction (TLI) and 20 healthy controls (HC) were examined with the recognition of faux pas and reading the mind in the eyes tasks for assessing the ability of social cognition.Results The TLI group performed significantly worse when compared with the HC group (28.6 ± 6.1,36.4 ± 4.3 respectively) as revealed in the total faux pas-related scores (U =41.00,P <0.01).For the control question,there was no significant difference between the TLI group and the HC group (9.86 ±0.35,10.00 ± 0.00 ; U =130.00,P =0.097).In the reading the mind in the eyes task,patients with TLI performed worse than the HC group(17.13 ±6.41,29.75 ±2.07 respectively),and the difference had statistical significance (U =0.00,P < 0.01).But there was no significant difference in gender recognition judgment (30.37 ± 1.16,31.35 ± 1.08 respectively; U =106.00,P =0.129).Conclusions The right temporal lobe involves in social cognition.Moreover,the right temporal lobe not only involves in the verbal related social cognitive processing,but also involves in the no-verbal related social cognitive processing.

3.Risk Factors for Mortality among Lung Cancer Patients with Nosocomial Pneumonia

OBJECTIVE To evaluate risk factors of the death among lung cancer patients with nosocomial pneumonia.METHODS A total of 312 lung cancer patients with nosocomial pneumonia in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed.RESULTS Eighty-seven patients died and remaining 225 patients were cured finally.Risk factors by multivariate analysis were more than 62 years old(OR 1.75,95%CI 1.06-2.98),metastatic disease(OR 9.24,95%CI 5.21-16.17),bacteria/fungi infection(OR 2.31,95%CI 1.15-4.67),and lower serum albumin concentration(OR 1.87,95%CI 1.08-3.13).CONCLUSIONS Older,metastatic diseases,double infections and lower serum albumin concentration are the risk factors correlated with the mortality among lung cancer patients with nosocomial pneumonia.
4.Effects of astragaloside on TRPC6 expression on mouse podocyte induced by TGF-β1

Objective:To explore the possible mechanism of astragaloside involved in the mouse podocytes injury induced by TGF-β1 in vitro.Methods:Mouse podocytes were cultured in vitro and then all cell were divided into 5 groups:normal control group , TGF-β1 treatment group ,TGF-β1 treatment +astragaloside low dose group ,TGF-β1 treatment +astragaloside middle dose group and TGF-β1 treatment +astragaloside high dose group.The proliferation rate of each group was investigated by MTT assay ,the expression of TRPC6 protein and mRNA were measured by Western blot and RT-PCR respectively after 48 hours.Results:TGF-β1 can significantly inhibit the proliferation of podocytes ( P<0.05) ,fusions of foot processes or even effaced of podocytes were observed .TGF-β1 could also increase the expression of TRPC6.Astragaloside could reduce the inhibition of TGF-β1 to the proliferain of podocytes significantly ,make the cell shape tend to be normal,and reduce the expression of TRPC6 mRNA and protein with dose-effect relation.Conclusion:TRPC6 play an impor-tant role in the TGF-β1 induecd podocytes injury .Astragaloside can alleviate podocytes injury by reduce the expression of TRPC 6.
5.Characteristics of emotional memory impairment in patients with primary insomnia

Objective To investigate the emotional memory impairment in patients with primary insomnia (PI) and explore the neurobiological mechanisms underlying primary insomnia through emotional memory tasks involving different valance of emotional pictures.Methods Thirty patients with primary insomnia(PI group) and twenty healthy controls(HC group) were given emotional memory tasks using positive,neutral and negative valence images.The emotional memory was evaluated by the recognition of emotional pictures.Results Compared with healthy controls (positive (11.60±4.00) , neutral (11.05± 3.73) and negative (12.60± 2.06) , respectively), patients with PI (positive (11.30±3.75),neutral (11.47±3.21) and negative (11.43±4.12) ,respectively) showed no significant difference in appraisal of the emotional pictures (P>0.05).Compared with healthy controls (43.40± 4.88) for the emotional images memorizing task,patients with PI (39.40±6.43) exhibited evident deficit of all emotional images (P<0.05).Furthermore, the accuracy in recognizing both positive (12.60± 2.42) and neutral (12.87±3.18) valence pictures were significantly lower in patients with P1 than those in healthy controls(positive (14.05±2.19) and neutral (14.75± 1.80)) (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in negative stimulus between PI group(13.93±1.76) and HC group(14.70±1.59) (P>0.05).Conclusion The results suggest thant emotional memory is impaired in patients with PI.Moreover,the emotional memory for positive and neutral vanlence pictures is impaired but the emotional memory for negative is relatively spared in patients with primary insomnia.The results also indicate that impaired emotional memory with different valences may relate with distinct neuromechanisms.
6.Role of transient receptor potential cation channel 6 (TRPC6) channel in mouse podocyte injury induced by TGF-β1

Objective To investigate the effects of transient receptor potential cation channel 6 (TRPC6) on the expression of nephrin, desmin and caspase 9 and on the apoptosis of podocytes in a mouse model of podocyte injury induced by TGF-β1.Methods Conditionally immortalized mouse podocytes were cultured in vitro and divided into four groups: control, TGF-β1 treatment, TGF-β1+PGPU6/GFP/Neo-TRPC6-mus-581 (TRPC6 knockdown) and TGF-β1+PGPU6/GFP/Neo-NC (negative control).Real-time RT-PCR and Western blot analysis were performed to detect the expression of nephrin, desmin and caspase 9 at mRNA and protein levels, respectively.Flow cytometry was used to analyze the apoptotic rate of podocytes.DAPI fluorescent staining was used to observe the morphological changes of apoptotic podocytes.Results Green fluorescent protein (GFP)-expressing podocytes at 48 hours after transfection were significantly more than those at 24 hours after transfection.The level of TRPC6 in mouse podocytes transfected with PGPU6/GFP/Neo-TRPC6-mus-581 was significantly decreased as compared with that of the control group (P<0.05).No significant difference in the expression of TRPC6 was observed between the negative control group and the control group.Compared with the control group, the TGF-β1 treatment group showed increased expression of desmin and caspase 9 at both mRNA and protein levels (P<0.01), but decreased expression of nephrin at mRNA and protein levels at 48 hours after TGF-β1 intervention (P<0.05).The up-regulated desmin and caspase 9 and the down-regulated nephrin induced by TGF-β1 could be inhibited by the means of TRPC6 knockdown.The apoptosis rate of podocytes in TGF-β1 treatment group was (14.0±2.1)%, while that in TRPC6 knockdown was (10.90±0.56)% (P<0.05).The apoptosis rate of podocytes in negative control group was higher than that in TGF-β1 treatment group (P>0.05).More apoptotic cells with typical morphological features of apoptosis were observed after exposure to TGF-β1 for 48 hours.Conclusion TGF-β1 could induce the apoptosis of podocytes, inhibit the expression of nephrin and enhance the expression of caspase 9 and desmin, the possible mechanisms of which may be related to TRPC6 signal pathway.These changes in TGF-β1-treated podocytes could be alleviated by inhibiting the expression of TRPC6, which might have a protective effect on podocyte injury.
7. Clinical effects of Joint Active System on the treatment of joint dysfunction after deep burn

Objective:
To observe the clinical effects of the Joint Active System on the treatment of joint dysfunction after deep burn.
Methods:
Twenty-two patients with joint dysfunction after deep burn were hospitalized in Institute of Burns of Tongren Hospital of Wuhan University & Wuhan Third Hospital from January 2015 to October 2016, involving 18 elbow joints with flexion disorder, 10 wrist joints with dorsal extension disorder, and 12 ankle joints with dorsal extension disorder. They were treated with the elbow joint activity training device, the wrist joint activity training device, and the ankle joint activity training device of the Joint Active System, respectively. The treatment was carried out 3 times each day with interval of 6 h, 30 minutes each time, and it lasted for four to seven months, with one month as a course of treatment. Before treatment and 1, 2, 3, 4 month (s) after, active motion range of each joint was measured by joint goniometer. Function improvement of each joint was evaluated, and the total effective ratio was calculated 4 months after treatment. Satisfaction degree of patients was assessed by the modified Likert Scale 1, 2, 3, 4 month (s) after treatment. Data were processed with one-way analysis of variance for repeated measurement and LSD test.
Results:
Before treatment and 1, 2, 3, 4 month (s) after, flexion active motion range of elbow joints were (61±23), (78±22), (89±20), (96±20), and (103±19)°; dorsal extension active motion range of wrist joints were (23±7), (31±6), (38±9), (44±5), and (49±8)°; dorsal extension active motion range of ankle joints were (-31±12), (-23±10), (-16±7), (-12±6), and (-8±4)°, respectively. In May 2015, a child with absence of most of the five fingers with scar formation after healing of a left hand burn wound hospitalized in our burn ward. According to the free online design program for making artificial limbs using three-dimensional printing technology on the internet, a utility artificial hand, most of which made of plastic parts, was designed for the child and printed by a three-dimensional printer. The child was instructed to wear and use the utility artificial hand, including driving the finger part of the utility artificial hand to make a grasping action by flexing the wrist joint. On the first day of using the utility artificial hand, the time the right hand and the utility artificial hand took to finish the Nine-Hole Peg Test (NHPT) was 24 and 325 s, respectively. After training, the child could grab some light and rough objects. After 3 months of follow-up, the child could use the utility artificial hand to cooperate with the upper limb of the healthy side to make the movements of picking up the basketball and keeping the balance of body on the bicycle. The time the right hand and the utility artificial hand took to finish NHPT was 21 and 193 s, respectively. The time the utility artificial hand took increased by 40.6% compared with the initial period. By assembling the three-dimensionally printed utility artificial hand, the partial appearance image of the child was restored, and some of the hand functions were compensated, which improved the self-care ability of the child in daily life and was beneficial to his physical and mental development.
9.Characteristics of emotional memory in patients with thalamic infarction

Objective To investigate the emotional memory changes in patients with thalamic infarction on different laterals and explore the impact of different emotional valence pictures on the thalamic infarction(TI) patients' memory.Methods 28 patients with thalamic infarction (TI group)and 28 patients who were hospitalized without TI during the same period (control group) were given emotional memory test,a test where they use their emotional memory to evaluate and recognize pictures with different emotional valence,including positive,neutral,and negative valence.Results (1) At the stage of evaluating emotional images,there were no significant difference between patients with TI and control group in positive evaluation (P>0.05).Compared with control group (neutral(12.96±1.62),negative(13.57±1.37),respectively),neutral and negative recognition scores for emotional pictures of patients with TI (neutral (10.79±2.07),negative (10.96±2.05),respectively) were decreased significantly (positive t =-4.5 and negative t=-5.6,both P<0.05).(2)At the stage of emotional images memorizing tests,TI group's total scores on re-accessing total emotional pictures were significantly lower than those in control group ((36.14 ± 3.24) vs(41.89 ± 3.43) respectively)) (t=-6.44,P<0.05).Compared with control group (positive (14.04± 1.29),neutral (13.68±1.56)),patients with TI (positive (10.93± 1.96),neutral(11.25± 1.67)) were decreased significantly in the emotional pictures memorizing tests (t=-7.00,5.61,P<0.05).But there were no difference in negative stimulus between the two groups (P>0.05).(3)The score of emotional pictures recognition in patients with LTI (34.43 ± 3.48) were decreased significantly than that in patients with RTI (37.86± 1.83) (t =3.26,P< 0.05).The score in recognizing neutral valence images in patients with LTI(10.43± 1.55) were significantly decreased than those in RTI (12.07± 1.38) (t=2.95,P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with TI may rely on different neural mechanisms to affect the different valence of the emotional memory loop process.The emotional memory impairment in patients with TI at different sides is different.The left thalamus has a greater influence on memory.
10.Application of self-made stretch pants in patients with burn in special sites

The change and fixation of dressing are difficult in patients with burn in special sites nf perineum,buttocks,and bilateral thighs.Therefore,we designed and made stretch pants by ourselves for dressing fixation after dressing change in patients with burns in abdomen,buttocks,and bilateral thighs.The stretch pants are made by cutting and splicing elastic fabric according to perimeters of abdomen and legs.The stretch pants are used after wound dressing change,which can fix the dressing stably,accelerate wound healing,and reduce the medical workers' labor intensity of dressing change and economic burden of patients.And patients can walk out of bed early.It's especially suitable for dressing fixation of infants and other patients who are unwilling to cooperate.Besides,it's easy to make with low cost and suitable for clinical promotion.
