The surface electromyography (sEMG) is the noninvasive method which can record and measure the changes of local muscle activities. The sEMG's amplitude and frequence signal will change with muscular movement. sEMG application in present study on muscle fatigue is a reliable predictor of muscle functional level. The researches on the sEMG signals changes of limb muscles of hemiplegic patients will take a important role in providing scientific evidence for the neural rehabilitation training after stroke.

ObjectiveTo examine the effects of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation(PNF) techniques on lower limb motor function of strokes and its mechanism.MethodsWe used simple random sampling and cross-section survey design. PNF Contract Relax Agonist Contract(PNF-CRAC) techniques were applied to 44 stroke patients. Surface electromyography values(sEMG) was recorded from rectus femoris and hamstring of stroke patients with both low limbs. ResultsPNF-CRAC techniques not only caused the irradiation of muscles activities in the contralateral extremity during unilateral exercise, but also increased agonist EMG activities and the motor control of knee joint in strokes.ConclusionPNF-CRAC techniques can improve the knee stability and enhance the recovery of motor function in paretic lower limb.

With the increase of adult patients seeking for orthodontic treatment, the influence of periodontal tissue on orthodontic treatment has gradually become the focus. For patients with periodontitis, it is essential to controlling the severity of periodontitis prior to orthodontic treatment. Periodontal disease can cause additional bone loss and make the orthodontic treatment complicated. Reducing the risk of orthodontic treatment in this situation is our major concern. In addition to periodontitis, orthodontic treatment may also cause gingival recession. On the other hand, the alveolar bone defects such as bone fenestration and bone dehiscence are common in some patients without periodontitis. For these patients, we should take more care of the interrelationship between bone defects and orthodontic treatment. This article briefly demonstrates the risk considerations of periodontal supporting tissue in orthodontic therapy focusing on the influence of periodontitis, gingival recession and alveolar bone fenestration and dehiscence.

Objective:To explore the economic applicability and safetyof the novel uterovaginal pubic comb suspension(UPCS)surgery with Mersilene tape in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse(POP).Methods:A ret-rospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of patients who underwent UPCS surgery due to POP from January 1st,2021 to February 28,2023.They were divided to the UPCS surgery with Mersilene tape group(group A)and suspension surgery with Y-shaped mesh group(group B)respectively.The POP-Q indication points,sus-pension surgery duration,intraoperative bleeding volume,material expense,postoperative catheter retention time,anal exhaust time and hospitalization duration were recorded for both groupbefore and after surgery.Evaluate the severity of POP related symptoms in patients before and after surgery using the pelvic Floor Distress Invento-ry-short Form 20(PFDI-20)and Pelvic Organ Prolapsed/Urinary Incontinence Sexual Questionnaire-12(PISQ-12),and follow up and observe the patients and analyze the complications.Results:A total of 17 POP patients were included in the study.There were 12 patients in group A while 5 patients in group B.The suspension material expense of group A was considerably lower than that of group B(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in preoperative PFDI-20 score,preoperative PISQ-12 score,UPCS surgery duration,intr-aoperative bleeding volume,postoperative urinary catheter retention time,postoperative anal exhaust time and hospitalization duration.All patients showed stable vital signs during the surgery and no severe complications were reported.Compared with the preoperative status,the positions of the Aa,Ba,and C indicatorpoint in group A and group B were all increased significantly(P＜0.05).The PFDl-20 and PISQ-12 scores of the two groups at the last follow-up after surgery showed significant improvement compared to those before surgery(P＜0.05).No signifi-cant difference was found in the PFDI-20 and PISQ-12 scores between the two groups after surgery(P＞0.05).There were no significant differences in the postoperative complications between the two groups(P＞0.05).Con-clusions:Compared with suspension surgery with Y-shaped mesh,UPCS surgery with Mersilene tape is safe and effective in the treatment of POP.The UPCS surgery with Mersilene tape showed better cost-effectiveness in the treatment of POP,and the surgical steps are relatively simple.Therefore,UPCS surgery with Mersilene tape was worthy of promotion in clinical practice.

Objective:To investigate the interaction of platelet factor 4(PF4)with tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in the pathoge-nesis of chronic periodontitis(Ⅲ-C).Methods:22 patients with chronic periodontitis(Ⅲ-C)and 22 subjects with periodontal health were recruited.Before and after periodontal treatment,the concentration of PF4 and TNF-α in gingival crevicular fluid(GCF)and ser-um,the amount of PF4 released by platelets after lipopolysaccharide(LPS)stimulated peripheral blood platelets were measured by ELISA.Flow cytometry was used to calculate the number of platelets in GCF before and after treatment.Results:The concentrations of PF4 and TNF-α in the GCF and serum of the patients were higher than those in the periodontal healthy group(P＜0.05).After treat-ment,the concentrations of PF4 and TNF-α in the GCF were significantly lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05),and the con-centrations of PF4 and TNF-α in the serum were unchanged(P＞0.05).After LPS stimulation of the platelets in blood before and after treatment,the concentration of PF4 released by the platelets was much higher in the patients than that in the healthy controls(P＜0.01),and the concentration was significantly lower after periodontal treatment than before treatment(P＜0.01).The number of CD41/CD61 double positive platelets and CD45 negative cells in GCF before periodontal treatment were 85 times and 87 times higher than those in periodontal healthy subjects,respectively(P＜0.01).Conclusion:PF4 and TNF-α have synergistic effect in the patho-genesis of chronic periodontitis.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the strategy of pregnancy-preserving and maternal- fetal management in patients with primary gynecologic neuroendocrine tumors (gNETs) during pregnancy. METHODS: We performed whole genome sequencing (WGS) for analyzing maternal and fetal somatic and germline single nucleotide variations (SNVs) and small insertions and deletions (InDels) for a 29-year-old pregnant woman diagnosed with stage IB2 large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) and adenocarcinoma in the cervix. A systematic literature review was performed to explore the strategies for treatment of such rare histological type while maintaining pregnancy. RESULTS: Global case analysis of cervical NETs during pregnancy suggested that negative lymph node metastasis and an early FIGO stage were potentially associated with a good prognosis of the patients. In the case presented herein, a pregnancy-preserving strategy was adopted and favorable maternal-fetal outcomes were achieved after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, radical surgery and postoperative systemic chemotherapy. At 35 CONCLUSIONS Although gNETs in pregnancy are rare and highly risky, pregnancy-preserving managements of gNETs can still be considered and favorable maternalfetal outcomes are possible with proper assessment of the clinical indications and implementation of multimodal treatments. Precise treatment and follow-up strategies based on the results of WGS for risk-reducing intervention of cancer recurrence or occurrence can potentially benefit the patient and the neonate.
