1.A COMPARATIVE STUDYON BACTERIAL GROUPS IN SICHUAN AROMATIC AND MELLOW LEAVENS
Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
Manufacture of aromatic liquor differs from that of mellow liquor not only in the technology of fermenting and producing liquor but also in the technology of preparing leaven. The difference in the technology of preparing leaven results in the difference in the formation of bacterial groups in these two kinds of leaven. In this paper, bacteria in leaven are classified into three main groups: (1) acid-producing bacteria, (2) substratedecompocing bacteria and (3) Actinomyces. For each kind of leaven the numbers of each group of bacteria is counted and the quantitative composition and structural feature is studied. The relationship between these bacteria and the respective flavors of the two kinds of liquor is discussed.

Malaria vaccines are being developed against different stages in the parasite's life cycle. Although not directly protective ,the sexual stage vaccines would induce antibodies that would prevent infection of mosquitoes when ingestedin a bloodmeal containing sexual stage parasites. pfs25 has been tested to be an important candidate antigen for malarial transmission blocking vaccine . In this report we analyzed the complete code of pfs25 gene of Plasmodium falciparum PFD-3/YN isolate. The result shows that the gene encoding pfs25 of PED-3/YN isolate has a mutant which generates a PstI endonuclease restriction site and shares 99.2% nucleotide homology with that of NF4 isolate.

Objective To study the relationship between stress rise of blood glucose and the PEEL prognostic index of the patients with acute myocardial infarction, and provide the basis for a quick judgement and evaluation of prognosis to nurses. Methods Taking the 6.8,7.8 and 8.8 mmol/L as demarcation point to study the PEEL prognostic index in 59 patients with acute myocardial infarction, and compare the PEEL score value on two sides of each demarcation point. Results No significant difference in PEEL evaluation score when taking 6.8 mmol/L as the demarcation point, there was significant difference when taking 7.8 mmol/L as the demarcation point, PEEL score in blood glucose > 7.8 mmol/L group was higher than that of ≤7.8mmol/L group, so was when taking 8.8 mmol/L as the demarcation point. Conclusions There was instructive signifi-cance for nurses to observe a stress rise of blood glucose timely in evaluating the prognosis of patients with a-cute myocardial infarction. Nurses should strengthen disease observation and preventive nursing of admission patients whose fasting blood glucose are above 7.8 mmol/L as well their blood glucose monitoring.

Background Serum cystatin C levels can be used to predict morbidity and mortality in patients with cardiovascular disease. However, the clinical relevance of serum cystatin C levels in patients with hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) has rarely been investigated. We designed the present study to investigate whether serum cystatin C levels are associated with cardiac structural and functional alterations in hypertensive patients. Methods We enrolled 823 hypertensive patients and classified them into two groups:those with LVH (n=287) and those without LVH (n=536). All patients underwent echocardiography and serum cystatin C testing. We analyzed the relationship be-tween serum cystatin C levels and LVH. Results Serum cystatin C levels were higher in hypertensive patients with LVH than in those without LVH (P<0.05). Using linear correlation analysis, we found a positive correlation between serum cystatin C levels and interven-tricular septal thickness (r=0.247, P<0.01), posterior wall thickness (r=0.216, P<0.01), and left ventricular weight index (r=0.347, P<0.01). When analyzed by multiple linear regression, the positive correlations remained between serum cystatin C and interventricular septal thickness (β=0.167, P<0.05), posterior wall thickness (β=0.187, P<0.05), and left ventricular weight index (β=0.245, P<0.01). Con-clusion Serum cystatin C concentration is an independent marker for hypertensive LVH.

Object To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of L-asparaginase based regimen for extranodal nasal type NK/T cell lymphoma (ENKTL).Methods 36 patients were treated with L-asparaginase based regimen from February 2008 to November 2011. 20 stage Ⅰ /Ⅱ patients were administered with VLD regimen based chemo-radiotherapy. 4 of 16 stage Ⅲ/Ⅳ patients received modified SMILE regimen chemotherapy, followed by involved field radiation therapy (IFRT), while others received modified SMILE regimen chemotherapy alone. Results Among 36 patients,35 were eligible for treatment response evaluation. The overall response rate (RR) was 68.6% (24/35) with complete response (CR) rate of 54.3% (19/35).After the median follow-up of 13.5 (range 3-31) months, for all patients, the 1-year overall survival (OS) rate was 82 %,and the rate of progression-free survival (PFS) at 1 year was 65 %.The patients who attained response with treatment showed better 1-year OS (93 %) and PFS (80 %) as compared with patients without response (35 %; 33 %),and the differences were statistically significant (x2=13.909,P =0.000; x2=8.216,P =0.004).The major adverse event was myelosuppression. No chemotherapy-related mortality occurred. Conclusion L-asparaginase based regimen is obviously effective and well tolerant for ENKTL. The large prospective clinical trials of L-asparaginase based regimen in the first-line treatment for ENKTL are worth for further investigation.
