Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2008;24(4):414-415
876 women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) were collected from Sep 2004 to Oct 2006. Among them 800 patients with polycystic ovary ultrasound image belonged to group A; the other 76 women without polyeystic ovary ultrasound image belonged to group B. As compared with group A, group B showed significantly higher hirsutism scores, serum testosterone, cholesterol, and lower density lipoprotein. Significantly higher prevalences of diabetes mellitus and hypertension appeared in the first degree relatives in group B than in group A.

Objective To conduct a morphologic and anatomic study on nasal cartilages (including nasal alar cartilage, nasal septal cartilage and upper lateral cartilage) in Chinese, and to compare measured parameters with the other races. Methods 20 adult embalmed cadavers were dissected, 40 nasal alar cartilages, 20 nasal septal cartilages and 40 upper lateral cartilages were collected and scanned by CT, and three-dimensional images were reconstructed. As Zelnik' and Ofodile's work, the data of the images were collected. Results The distances from the nostril rim to the caudal boarder of the lateral crus in the series were (4. 54 ±0. 59) mm anteriorly, (5. 54±0. 69) mm in the middle, and (10. 45± 1. 15) mm posteriorly. The length of the lateral crus was (18. 51 ±1. 63) mm, the width was (7. 99±1. 66) mm, and the thickness was (0. 49±1. 28) mm. Conclusion The Caucasian nasal cartilages are the biggest in all races, and the other's were approximately same.

Objective To investigate the clinicopathological factors related with the lymph node ratio (LNR) in colorectal cancer patients. Methods The clinical and pathological data of 177 colorectal cancer patients who were treated by surgery in Shanghai Jiao Tong University Affiliated Sixth People's Hospital from January 2011 to December 2013 were collected. The association between LNR and clinicopathological factors were evaluated by single factor analysis nsingx x2 test. Results Gender, age, tumor location, tumor size, gross type, depth of infiltration, infiltration extent around bowel wall and preoperative serum CA199 concentration were not related with LNR (P >0.05),but tumor histological type, tumor differentiation, preoperative serum CEA,CA125 concentration were related with LNR (P =0.001,0.004,0.004,0.025).Conclusions Tumor histological type, tumor differentiation, preoperative serum CEA,CA125 may be the important factors related with LNR in colorectal cancer.

A system analysis about the microbial flora of normal and abnormal soybean sauce liquor from the high-salt-level watery state fermentation was made and the dominant bacteria and yeasts were identified. On the other hand,a discussion of effect of temperature on microbial flora was made. The results indicated that there were no obvious differences about the count of aerobe,spore-producing bacteria, enterobacteriaceae, lactic acid bacteria and anaerobe between the normal and abnormal soybean sauce liquor and there were marked differences about the count of yeasts and salt-tolerant bacteria. The predominant yeasts in normal soybean sauce were Torulopsis and Saccharomyces, accounting for 55.9% and 35.3% of the total yeasts separately, and in abnormal soybean sauce were Pichia, candida and Saccharomyces, accounting for 62.8%,17.9% and 9.0% respectively.

Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
These years with industrial antiseptics and disinfectants widely used, especially unscientifically used, the resistance of microorganisms is more and more serious, which brought much more difficulties to industrial producing. The developments on the resistance of microorganisms to industrial antiseptics and disinfectants, their resistant mechanisms and the control strategies are reviewed, which aids us to reasonably use industrial organic antiseptics and disinfectants in existence and provides academic and scientific basis.

OBJECTIVETo determine the mutation responsible for the congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscles type I(CFEOM1) in a Chinese family.
METHODSDirect sequencing of exons 20 and 21 in the KIF21A gene was performed for the proband. The mutation c.2860C to T in exon 21 was examined by allele specific-PCR (AS-PCR) analysis in other family members. Haplotype analysis was performed using four STR markers (D12S1668, D12S2194, D12S331 and D12S1048).
RESULTSA heterozygous mutation c.2860C to T in the KIF21A gene was identified in all three affected members with CFEOM1. Haplotype analysis suggested that the mutation might derive from maternal germline mosaicism.
CONCLUSIONThis Chinese family with CFEOM1 may be caused by a c.2860C to T mutation in the KIF21A gene.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2006;22(5):370-377
The genital organ is innervated by autonomic and somatic nerve. The former is both sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve and the later is comprised by sensory and motor fibers. The symptoms of male sexual dysfunction are sexopathy, erectile dysfunction, disorder of ejaculation and orgasm, and pianism. Not only different symptom but the same symptom can be induced by different injured nerve. The relationship between peripheral nerve injury and male sexual dysfunction should be understood correctly.
