Objective:To analyze morphological character of lateral tibial plateau fracture fragment, and its correlation to the presence of a meniscus injury in tibial plateau fractures. Methods:A total of 79 consecutive patients of the simple lateral tibial plateau fractures from July 201 1 to July 2015 were inclu-ded in this study, with 65 males and 14 females with an average age of (34.3 ±7.2)years and 22-61 years.According to Schatzker classification,21 cases were of Type Ⅰ,41 cases Type Ⅱ,and 17 cases Type Ⅲ.The characteristics of lateral tibial plateau fractures were evaluated by plain X-ray and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI ).The type and severity of meniscus injury were diagnosed by MRI scan. Three-dimensional measurements of the lateral fragment width (LFW),the lateral plateau depression (LPD),the coronal angulation of lateral fragment (CALF),and tibial plateau widening (TPW)were measured with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems(PACS)software. The patients with and without meniscus injuries were divided into different groups and analyzed respectively.Comparison of the above measurements between the two groups was analyzed by independent t test. Results:In all the 79 lateral tibial plateau fracture patients,26 cases (32.9%)of meniscus injuries were detected by MRI. Among all the meniscus injury cases,3 were of SchatzkerⅠ,16 SchatzkerⅡ,and 7 SchatzkerⅢ.In meniscus intact group, the average LFW was (22.0 ±2.8)mm while in meniscus injury group it was (21.3 ±3.3)mm (t =-1.008,P =0.317).The average LPD of non meniscus injury group was (5.4 ±2.8)mm,while in meniscus injury group was (8.7 ±2.8)mm (t=4.98,P=0.001).The average CALF of the two groups were 9.1°±6.1°and 10.6°±7.1°,and there was no significant dif-ference between the two groups (t=0.38,P=0.831).The average TPW was (3.0 ±1.1)mm,and (4.8 ±1 .7 )mm of the two groups. There were significant differences between the two groups (t =5.216,P=0.001).Conclusion:There was no obvious correlation between the LFD and meniscus inju-ry.The CALF of lateral tibial plateau fracture had no significant correlation with meniscus injury either. The degree of LPD and TPW may indicate injury of the meniscus in tibial plateau fractures.

Objective To investigate the effects of aggressive dosing of atorvastatin on the expression of SOCS1 in CD4 + Tlymphocytes from patients with unstable angina pectoris during peri-operative period of PCI.Methods A cohort of 50 patients with unstable angina pectoris were randomized (random number) to give pretreatment with either an aggressive dose (80 mg/d,n =25) or a routine dose (20 mg/d,n =25)of atorvastatin.Circulating CD4 +T cells were subsequently obtained prior to PCI,and also 18 h to 24 hours after PCI,using a magnetic cell sorting system (MACS).Fluorescence-based quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to measure expressions of SOCSI mRNA in the isolated CD4 + Tlymphocytes, and western blot analysis was used to detect levels of SOCS1 protein.Serum levels of IFN-γwere quantified using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs).Results Compared with routine dose group, the expressions of SOCS1 mRNA and protein levels were dramatically increased and those were higher in aggressive dose group following PCI (P < 0.05).In contrast, serum levels of IFN-γsignificantly increased following PCI in both groups, but it was higher in routine dose group than in aggressive dose group (P < 0.05).Conclusions Treatment with aggressive dosing of atorvastatin reduced the post-PCI myocardial inflammatory response in patients with unstable angina pectoris, possibly modulating by up-regulating SOCS1 expression in CD4 + Tlymphocytes.

[Objective]To investigate the value of"pericardium crescent sign"in the diagnosis of non-calcified con-strictive pericarditis in CT.[Methods]Twenty-seven patients with non-calcified constrictive pericarditis and forty-six cardiac tumors confirmed by surgical pathology were analyzed retrospectively. All patients underwent non-enhanced and enhanced CT scan preoperatively.Pericardial morphology, density, enhancement features, appearance of atrium,ventri-cle and inferior vena cava of non-calcified constrictive pericarditis were analyzed. Pericardial morphology of cardiac tumors was also analyzed.[Results]Of the 27 patients with non-calcified constrictive pericarditis,18 patients developed"pericardium crescent sign",accounting for 66.7%,ventricular varying degrees of deformation in 13 cases, accounting for 48%;venous dilatation in 26 cases, accounting for 93%;atrial enlargement in 7 cases, accounting for 26%. In 46 patients with cardiac tumors, only 1 patient had a similar"pericardial crescent"sign. For the diagnosis of constrictive pericarditis using pericardial crescent sign, the sensitivity was 66.7%,the specificity was 97.8%,Youden index was 0.64. The area under the ROC curve was 0.82([0.71-0.94],P<0.001).[Conclusion]"Pericardium crescent sign"is important CT features of non-calcified constrictive pericarditis. It has high specificity for differentiating non-calcified constrictive pericarditis from pericardial tumor imaging.

The objective of this study was to explore the effect of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) on HL-60 proliferation and its molecular mechanism. HL-60 cells co-cultivated with MSC were used as experiment group, and the cells cultivated solely were taken as control group. HL-60 cells in the two groups were counted at different time. The time-quantity curve was drawn. The cell cycle and apoptosis ratio of HL-60 cells were compared between the two groups and expressions of Survivin and Bcl-2 protein were detected by flow cytometry. The results showed that HL-60 cells cultivated with MSC were obviously inhibited, especially on day 5 and 7 (P < 0.01). HL-60 cells were distributed on the phase of G(0)/G(1) [control group (47.0 ± 9.0)% vs experiment group (70.0 ± 16.0)%, P = 0.003], and apoptotic peak appeared. Both of Survivin and Bcl-2 protein expressions in HL-60 cells decreased [Bcl-2 protein in control group (63.0 ± 9.1)% vs experiment group (50.0 ± 14.1)%, P = 0.045; Survivin in control group (94.0 ± 9.3)% vs experiment group (77.0 ± 11.8)%, P = 0.006]. It is concluded that the MSC can inhibit HL-60 cell proliferation, and promote HL-60 cell apoptosis.

Objective To observe the influence of long-term treatment with inhaled corticosteroid on biochemical bone indexes and bone mineral density (BMD) in children with asthma. Methods The design was a randomized, paralleled group study with 3 low dose regiments of 100, 200,300 micrograms of budesonide per day in 45 children with asthma aged 5-8 years old for 12 months. Before inhaled corticosteroid therapy and 6th,12th month, clinical effects were observed and lung function(FEV1) was measured; concentration of serum osteocalcin(OST),insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1),bony alkaline phosphatase (BALP) and urinary deoxypyridinolin: creatinine (DPD/Cr) were measured; BMD was examined by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. Results Clinical evaluation was improved and there was significant increase in FEV1 of asthmatic children. The amount of serum OST was slightly higher, yet no significant compared with that of normal control group. There was significant increase of serum BALP in asthmatic children after treatment; there was significant increase in serum IGF-1 of patients group after treatment compared with in normal children at the same age group; there was significant decrease in urinary DPD/Cr after treatment. There was no significant decrease in BMD before and after treatment at the hip (neck of femur , trochanter of femur ,Ward′s triangle),the lumber area of the spine (L2-4) and forearm (ultradis, distal). Conclusion Long-term treatment with low does corticosteroid dose not restrictedly affect bone metabolism and BMD in children with asthma.
