2.Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium for methyldichlorosilane-dimethyldichlorosilane-benzene system.

The elucidation of vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) of the halogenated silane was necessary for the production of silicon derivatives, especially for methylvinyldichlorosilane, due to the lack of the relevant reports. Isobaric VLE for the system methyldichlorosilane-dimethyldichlorosilane-benzene and isobaric VLE of the three binary systems were measured with a new pump-ebulliometer at the pressure of 101.325 kPa. These binary compositions of the equilibrium vapor were calculated according to the Q function of molar excess Gibbs energy by the indirect method and the resulted VLE data agreed well with the thermodynamic consistency. Moreover, the experimental data were correlated with the Wilson, NRTL, Margules and van Laar equations by means of the least-squares fit, the acquired optimal interaction parameters were fitted to experimental vapor-liquid equilibrium data for binary systems. The binary parameters of Wilson equation were also used to calculate the bubble point temperature and the vapor phase composition for the ternary mixtures without any additional adjustment. The predicted vapor-liquid equilibrium for the ternary system was in a good agreement with the experimental results. The VLE of binary and multilateral systems provided essential theory for the production of the halogenated silane.
3.Study on effects of sulfur fumigation on chemical constituents of Chrysanthemum morifolium cv. Boju.

A comprehensively comparison of the chemical profiles between sun-drying BJ (NBJ) and sulfur-fumigated BJ (SBJ) was conducted by HPLC analysis and the discrepant peaks were identified or tentatively assigned by HPLC-ESI-MSn. A total of 32 chemical components were used for qualitative comparison. Meanwhile, a quantitative comparison of BJwere conducted by HPLC analysis and determining seven compounds from 3 NBJ and 3 SBJ samples dramatic chemical changes were found. After sulfur fumigation, the contents of flavonoids glycosides and phenolic acids were remarkably reduced, but the contents of flavonoids aglycones were significantly increased. Multivariate statistics, including principle component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares discriminate analysis (PLS-DA) were used to investigate the potential damaging effect of sulfur-fumigating process. The PCA score plots showed six samples were clearly classified into the sun-drying and sulfur-fumigating groups. And according to VIP >1, the most important chemical markers were apigenin, luteolin and 3,5-dicaffeoylquninic acid which could be used to distinguish NBJ and SBJ samples. Combining the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis, it showed that the sulfur fumigation has a significant effect on BJ.

4.Molecular genetics and its clinical application in the diagnosis of spinocerebellar ataxias.

OBJECTIVETo study the strategy of applying molecular genetic methods and techniques in the diagnosis of spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA).
METHODSThis study included 43 patients with SCA from 36 families, 38 sporadic SCA patients, 60 healthy individuals from the SCA families and 44 normal controls. The trinucleotide repeats were detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and silver staining technique. The repeat numbers were calculated by software.
RESULTSSCA3 was the most common type in the Hans of south China, accounting for 42.0%, followed by SCA2 (7.4%), SCA1 (4.9%), SCA7 (3.7%), SCA6 (2.5%) and SCA12 (1.2%). No patient was found to have SCA8, SCA10, SCA17, and dentatorubro-pallidoluysian atrophy(DRPLA).
CONCLUSIONMolecular genetic detection is an effective way to confirmation of SCA subtype diagnosis and presymptomatic genetic diagnosis.

5.Relation between mutant p53 and multidrug resistance in gastric cancer.

OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between mutant p53 and multidrug resistance in gastric cancer.
METHODSMutant p53 (mp53) and mp53+sv40Tag were transferred to gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901. The MDR-1 mRNA was examined using RT-PCR, and the difference in chemotherapeutic sensitivity of SGC-7901 cells with mutant p53 was compared with those with mp53+sv40Tag and controls by MTT method.
RESULTSSGC-7901 cells with mutant p53 showed higher MDR-1 mRNA than that of other two groups. SGC-7901 cells with mutant p53 showed higher chemotherapeutic sensitivity to 5-Fu than that with mp53+sv40Tag and control (P<0.05), but no difference between those with mp53+sv40Tag and control (P>0.05). SGC-7901 cells with mutant p53 and those with mp53+sv40Tag showed higher chemotherapeutic sensitivity to ADM than control (P<0.05), but no difference between those with mp53 and with mp53+sv40Tag (P>0.05). There was no difference in chemotherapeutic sensitivity of SGC-7901 cells with mutant p53 compared with those with mp53+sv40Tag and control to CDDP (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONMutante p53 genes relates to multidrug resistance of gastric cancer.

6.Study on the dynamics of IgG antibody in 311 patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome.

OBJECTIVETo detect the level and dynamic change of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-coronavirus-specific IgG antibody in conavalescent SARS patients, and to provide information for prevention and vaccine development.
METHODSIgG antibody against coronavirus was detected by ELISA in the blood of 311 convalescent SARS patients for every 2 - 4 weeks. Stata 7.0 statistics software was used to analyse the results.
RESULTSIgG antibody was detected positive on each testing of all the convalescent patients and its peak appeared 35 days after recovery. IgG antibody level showed a 35.8% decrease within one year.
CONCLUSIONData showed that all the SARS convalescent patients had generated high level of specific IgG antibody against coronavirus in the early stage of recovery, but the antibody level declined along with the progress of convalescence, suggesting that the detection of the IgG antibody should go on until it disappeared.

7.Effect compound decoction on notoginsenosides in Panax notoginseng.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of compound decoction on notoginsenosides in Panax notoginseng.
METHODNotoginsenoside R1, Rg1, Re, Rb1 and pH were used as the parameters to investigate the changes on the content of notoginsenosides in different compound extractions by heating for two hours and their correlation with pH.
RESULTWhen the pH values of solution of P. notoginseng with Fructus ligustri, P. notoginseng with Eupolyphaga seu steleophaga, P. notoginseng with Pheretima asiatica, and Zhitangjiang Fang (free of Hirudo) were rept higher than 5.7, the reserved rate (RR) of notoginsenside were higher than 90%; When the pH values of decoetion of P. notoginseng with Salvia miltiorrhiza, P. notoginseng with Paeonia lactiflora, P. notoginseng with Platycodon grandiflorum, P. notoginseng with Arctium lappa were kept 4.5-5.5, their RR of notoginsenside were 60% - 85%; When the pH values of the decotction of P. notoginseng with Hirudo nipponica was decreased to 3.4, its RR of of notoginsenside was 38.4%; When the pH values of Zhitangjiang Fang extraction was regulated by 0.1% NaOH solution to pH 6. 3, and the RR of notoginsenside increased to 97%.
CONCLUSIONThe pH of other Chinese herbal medicines extraction with P. notoginseng compound is a critical effect on the stability and yields of notoginsensides.

8.Efficacy of microsurgical management and gamma knife radiosurgery on brain stem cavernous malformations

Objective To explore the efficacy ofmicrosurgery and gamma knife treatment on brainstem cavernous malformations.Methods Retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 15 patients with brainstem cavernous malformations treated by microsurgery and 22 patients by gamma knife in our hospital from January 2002 to December 2011.The clinical symptom improvement,scores of Glasgow Outcome Scale,scores of Karnofsky Performance Scale and scores of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale before and after treatment were observed and compared between the two groups.Results Patients in the micro-surgery group enjoyed the following results:one patient with pontine lesion had residual postoperation; no re-bleeding or death was noted; two had irreversible neurological dysfunction; clinical symptoms improved in 11 patients (73.3%); the postoperative scores of Glasgow Outcome Scale and Karnofsky Performance Scale increased 0.20 and 6.6 as compared with the preoperative ones; The postoperative scores of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale decreased 1.20 as compared with the preoperative ones.Patients in Gamma Knife group enjoyed the following results:the lesions of two patients increased due to re-bleeding; three had perifocal brain edema; no death was noted;the clinical symptoms improved in 9 patients (40.9%); the postoperative scores of Glasgow Outcome Scale and Karnofsky Performance Scale increased 0.05 and 1.82 as compared with the preoperative ones; the postoperative scores of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale decreased 0.82 as compared with the preoperative ones.Conclusion Micro-surgery may be more effective than Gamma Knife in treating brainstem cavernous malformations; however,patients with non-surgical conditions or refusing surgery could choose Gamma Knife treatment; gamma knife treatment should be cautiously chosen.
9.The predictive value of ALT, HBeAg and HBV DNA levels at baseline and the degree of HBV suppression at week 12 adefovir dipivoxil treatment to the efficacy of it at week 52 in patients with HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B.

OBJECTIVETo study the predictive value of ALT, HBeAg and HBV DNA levels at baseline and HBV DNA levels at week 12 adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) treatment to the efficacy of it at week 52 in patients with HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B (CHB).
METHODSNinety-eight HBeAg-positive CHB patients with serum HBV DNA>or=1x10(6) copies/ml and ALT levels between 1.5 to 10 times of upper limits of normal (ULN) were enrolled in the study. Ten mg/d of ADV was administered for 52 weeks. Line serum samples were collected for measuring HBV DNA and HBV markers. The efficacy of the treatment at week 52 was evaluated in patients with different ALT, HBeAg and HBV DNA levels at baseline and HBV DNA levels at week 12 after treatment.
RESULTSAt week 52 of ADV treatment, the rates of HBV DNA<10(3) were 72.7%, 66.7% and 53.0% respectively in patients with ALT>5xULN, HBeAg
CONCLUSIONSIn HBeAg-positive CHB patients treated with adefovir dipivoxil, HBV DNA levels at week 12 can be used to predict the efficacy at week 52. HBV DNA<10(3) copies/ml at week 12 predict a better treatment result at week 52.

10.Changes and clinical significance of serum soluble Apo-1/Fas in pancreatic cancer.

OBJECTIVETo detect changes of serum soluble Apo-1/Fas (sApo-1/Fas) in pancreatic cancer patients and to investigate its clinical value in assessing the effect of chemotherapy.
METHODSThe serum level of sApo-1/Fas in 30 normal control subjects and 58 pancreatic cancer patients were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the sApo-1/Fas level of 48 pancreatic cancer patients, before and after chemotherapy was compared.
RESULTSCompared with the level of the control group, the level of serum soluble Apo-1/Fas was significantly correlated with clinical stage but not with age, sex or pathologic type of pancreatic cancer. It was elevated gradually from stage II to IV (P < 0.01). However, it would obviously decrease in pancreatic cancer patients after chemotherapy (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe serum soluble Apo-1/Fas may be involved in the development of pancreatic cancer, and it may be used as one parameter to assess the disease status and prognosis of pancreatic cancer patient.
