Biotrickling filter often offers a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional air pollutant control technologies, but major problems with clogging of the filters due to a high biomass accumulation will provent it from the industried uses.In this paper, the effect of the high biomass accumulation in an air pollution treatment with a biotrickling filter is discussed. Two parameters with specific surface area with biofilm growth(?_ f ) and the bed porosity with biofilm(?_ f )are used to analyse its principle of accumulation. Finally, some control measures including chemical methods, physical machine-made methods and other control methods are overviewed.
2. Mechanism of lentivirus mediated flot1 gene expression on invasion and apoptosis of gastric cancer cells
Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2019;54(16):1299-1304
OBJECTIVE: To investigate inhibitory effect of FLOT1 gene expression on invasion and apoptosis of gastric cancer cells. METHODS: The designed FLOT1 siRNA lentiviral vector (si-FLOT1 group) was transfected into human gastric cancer MKN-45 cells, at the same time, the negative control lentivirus vector (negative group) was transfected, and the blank group was set up. Western blotting was used to detect the expression of FLOT1, E-cadherin, α-SMA, cleaved caspase 3, Bcl-2 and Bax proteins. After cells were transfected for 24, 48, 72 and 96 h, cell viability was detected by CCK-8 assay. After cells were transfected for 48 h, transwell chamber, flow cytometry and DCFH-DA assay were used to detect the invasiveness, apoptosis rate and ROS content, respectively. RESULTS: FLOT1 siRNA lentiviral vector inhibited significantly the expression of FLOT1 in MKN-45 cells, which was significantly different from the blank group (P<0.05). Compared with si-FLOT1 group and the blank group, the cell vitality decreased, the invasion ability decreased, the apoptosis rate increased, the expression of E-cadherin, cleaved caspase 3 and Bax protein increased, the expression of α-SMA and Bcl-2 protein decreased, and the content of ROS increased, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Down regulation of FLOT1 gene expression can reduce the invasiveness of gastric cancer cells by inhibiting EMT, and promote apoptosis by regulating the expression of apoptosis related proteins and increasing the ROS content of cells.

OBJECTIVETo detect the level and dynamic change of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-coronavirus-specific IgG antibody in conavalescent SARS patients, and to provide information for prevention and vaccine development.
METHODSIgG antibody against coronavirus was detected by ELISA in the blood of 311 convalescent SARS patients for every 2 - 4 weeks. Stata 7.0 statistics software was used to analyse the results.
RESULTSIgG antibody was detected positive on each testing of all the convalescent patients and its peak appeared 35 days after recovery. IgG antibody level showed a 35.8% decrease within one year.
CONCLUSIONData showed that all the SARS convalescent patients had generated high level of specific IgG antibody against coronavirus in the early stage of recovery, but the antibody level declined along with the progress of convalescence, suggesting that the detection of the IgG antibody should go on until it disappeared.

OBJECTIVETo study the diagnostic value of the signal intensity on T1-weighted images of MRI and proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H MRS) for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).
METHODSThirty full-term neonates with HIE admitted into the Department of Neonatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Medical College, Xi'an Jiaotong University between January, 2007 and December 2009 were enrolled. Ten normal neonates born at the same period served as control group. Cerebral MRI and 1H MRS examinations were performed within 15 days after birth.
RESULTSIn the HIE group, the signal intensity of the posterolateral lentiform nucleus was higher than or equal to that of the posterior limb of internal capsule, but in the control group, the results were opposite, namely, the signal intensity of the postero-lateral lentiform nucleus was lower than that of the posterior limb of internal capsule. The ratios of lactic acid/creatinine and glutamate/creatinine in the basal ganglia and the frontal lobe shown by 1H MRS increased significantly in the HIE group compared with controls (P<0.05 or 0.01). The differences of the signal intensity between the posterolateral lentiform nucleus and the posterior limb of internal capsule were positively correlated with the ratios of lactic acid/creatinine and glutamate/creatinine shown by 1H MRS (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONSThe comparison of the signal intensity between the posterolateral lentiform nucleus and the posterior limb of internal capsule on T1-weighted images of the cerebral MRI is valuable for the diagnosis of neonatal HIE and the accuracy of diagnosis can be improved when combined with 1H MRS.

Curcumin has a wide spectrum of pharmaceutical properties such as antitumor, antioxidant, antiamyloid, and anti-inflammatory activity. However, poor aqueous solubility and low bioavailability of curcumin are major challenge in its development as a useful drug. To overcome many of these problems, curcumin-loaded long-circulating liposomes (Cur-LCL) were prepared by the ethanol injection method. Morphology of Cur-LCL was observed by transmission electron microscope, mean particle size and Zeta potential were detected by laser particle size analyzer, entrapment efficiency and drug loading were evaluated by ultracentrifugation. The drug release behavior in vitro and pharmacokinetic behavior in rats of Cur-LCL were investigated with curcumin (Cur) and curcumin liposomes (Cur-Lips) as control. The results showed that the mean diameter of Cur-LCL was 110 nm, the Zeta potential was -5.8 mV. The entrapment efficiency and drug loading of Cur-LCL was 80.25%, 2.06%, respectively. The release behavior in vitro studied by dialysis in PBS buffer showed significant sustained release profile that 48.95% Cur were released from Cur-LCL in 7 h, 88.92% in 24 h. The pharmacokinetic parameters showed that compared with Cur and Cur-Lips, the t(1/2beta) of Cur-LCL was extended to 13 and 1.8-fold, respectively. Besides, the AUC values was significantly increased (P < 0.01), and the clearance was evidently decreased (P < 0.01). These results from in vitro and in vivo indicated that Cur-LCL were able to realize controlled drug release and increase circulation time.

A girl aged 5 months was admitted due to developmental delay. Physical examination showed delayed physical development, unusual facies (microcephalus, hypertelorism, low-set ears, wide nasal bridge, and short philtrum), and an absence of the labium minus at one side. The peripheral blood karyotype was 46,XX,r(13)(p11q33)[82]/45,XX,-13[10]/46,XX,r(13;13)(p11q33;p11q33)[8], and array-based comparative genomic hybridization showed an 87.5 Mb duplication in 13q11q33.2 region and an 8.2 Mb deletion in 13q33.2q34 region. Fluorescence in situ hybridization showed terminal depletion of the long arm of the ring chromosome 13. The girl was diagnosed with ring 13 syndrome. This syndrome has various clinical phenotypes and is closely associated with the amount and site of the loss of genetic material in chromosomal band and different rates of chimerism.

OBJECTIVETo study the incidence and spatiotemporal dynamic variation of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in Shandong province.
METHODSAccording to surveillance data on HFRS epidemics and host animals, a 'contour area multifractal model' was estimated on the HFRS' incidence and multi-analysis model was applied to study spatiotemporal dynamic variation.
RESULTSThe process could be classified into 5 periods: 1st period (1974-1981) when HFRS was in completely natural focal state in Shandong, and the nature of focus was typical Apodemus type. 2nd period (1982-1986) indicated the process of expanding and merging of the Apodemus type focus in the southeastern part of Linyi district and the Rattus type focus was in the southern part of Jining city. 3rd period (1987-1990) indicated that through the expanding and merging of the two epidemic focuses, one mixed focus dominated by the Apodemus type had been formed in the hilly area of the southern and middle part of Shandong while another one dominated by the Rattus type in the Yellow River valley of the northwestern part of Shandong. 4th period (1991-1993) showed that the process of the spatial pattern of the mixed focus dominated by the Rattus type in Shandong. 5th period (1994-2004) referred to the spatial pattern of the mixed focus dominated by the Rattus became stabilized.
CONCLUSIONEvolution of the characteristics of HFRS focus in Shandong province experienced the following three processes: the simple Apodemus type and the simple Rattus type were seen separately to the mixed foci with the Apodemus type dominant and the Rattus dominant type coexisted and merged to the stable state of the mixed focus with Rattus as the dominant one.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate breast reconstruction with a combined skin flap of the deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) and the transverse rectus abdominis musculocutaneous (TRAM).
METHODSThe DIEP and TRAM united flap was elevated with the vessel pedicle of the deep inferior epigastric perforator on the affected side and the rectus abdominis muscle pedicle on the intact side. The reconstructive breast was shaped after the deep inferior epigastric vessels were anastomosed to the internal mammary vessels or the thoracodorsal vessels ipsilaterally.
RESULTSWe have used the DIEP and TRAM united flaps for breast reconstruction in 17 cases. All of the flaps survived, and the reconstructed breasts were well-shaped with the follow-up of 6-18 months.
CONCLUSIONSThe DIEP and TRAM united flap possesses of advantages such as rich blood supply, abundant tissue volume and easy shaping. It is especially applicable to the cases who have large chest defect and need large volume tissue.
