Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(01):-
AIM: To study a method for the determination of Zedoary turmeric oil microsphere (ZTO-MS). METHODS: ZTO-MS was extracted supersonically by solvent and then colored by sulfuric acid-vanillin reagent. The absorbance was measured by visible-spectrophotometry at 508nm. At the same time, ZTO-MS also could be determined by HPLC. RESULTS: The content of Zedoary turmeric oil was above 60% and the contents of Curdione、Curcuma、Germacrone were 6.88%,0.95%,5.0%, respectively, in ZTO-MS. CONCLUSION: Two methods for the determination of ZTO-MS are accurate, reliable; the method of visible-spectrophotometry is convenient and appropriate for determination for content of oil in ZTO-MS, while the method of HPLC gains the advantage for qualitative and quantitative analysis of components in ZTO-MS.

Chinese Journal of Radiological Medicine and Protection 2011;31(1):95-97
Objective To evaluate the radiation dose and image quality of MinDose techniques in dual-source CT coronary artery angiography. Methods 120 consecutive patients undergoing cardiac CT scans were randomly assigned into 2 groups: Group A1 with the tube current reduced to 20% of the normal tube current outside the pulsing window, and Group A2 with the tube current reduced to 4% of the normal tube current outside the pulsing window (MinDose). The image quality, noise, volume CT dose index (CTDIvol),and effective dose (E) of these two groups were evaluated. Results The mean score of imaging quality of Group A1 was (4.3 ± 0.3 ),not significantly different from that of Group A2 [(4.5 ±0.4),t=0.16,P>0.05].The value of CTDIvol of Group A1 was (40.2 ±9.6) mGy,significantly higher than that of Group A2 [( 36.4 ± 9.1 ) mGy,t = 3.2,P < 0.05].The E value of Group A1 was (9.1± 2.2) mSv ,significantly higher than that of A2 [( 8.1 ± 1.9) mSv,t = 2.7,P < 0.05].Conclusion Application of the MinDose technique not only reduces the radiation dose to the patient, but also meets the requirement of diagnosis.

BACKGROUND:There is little attention focused on the effect of isokinetic testing about the variation of angular velocity on pain and muscle strength in the evaluation of curative effect of McConnel taping. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the changes of quadriceps muscle strength and perceived pain levels in patients with patelofemoral pain syndrome before and after corrective McConnel taping in isokinetic testing. METHODS:A total of 34 patients with patelofemoral pain syndrome were evaluated in isokinetic testing for concentric contraction muscular strength, including the maximum torque, the total work, and the average work in 60 (°)/s and 180 (°)/s angular velocity, before and after the interventions of McConnel taping. The visual analogue scale scores were recorded. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The visual analogue scale scores were slightly decreased in angular velocity of 60 (°)/s after obturation when compared to before obturation (P > 0.05), while the scores were significantly decreased in angular velocity of 180 (°)/s (P < 0.05). The maximum torque, the total work, and the average work were slightly increased after obturation, but showed no significant difference in angular velocity of 60 (°)/s (P > 0.05), while significantly increased in 180 (°)/s angular velocity (P < 0.05). McConnel taping significantly improves the curative effect in patients with patelofemoral pain syndrome under low load joint movement.

Objective: To construct the recombinant vaccinia virus of mutant N-ras/61 gene and enhance the immunogenecity of mutant N-ras/61 protein produced by the recombinant vaccinia virus. Methods: N-ras/61 gene was inserted into P1108 and transfected into CV-1 cell infected with vaccinia virus by Cell FECTIN. PCR and Western blot were used to identify the recombinants. Results: We get recombinant vaccinia virus rV-N-ras/61 by PCR and tk- selecting. The expression of N-ras gene was detected by Western blot. Conclusion: This study is a test for studing effective vaccine of mutant N-ras/61 gene. The efficacy in vivo of the N-ras/61 vaccine in immunotherapy is under investgation.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(10):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical application of the auto trigger technique with dual-source CT in cerebral and cervical vessel. Methods 35 patients were randomly divided into three groups, taking triggered threshold as 20HU,50HU and 70HU respectively, CT-values in segments of left middle cerebral artery, superior sagittal sinus, left common carotid artery adjacent to the fourth cervical vertebrate and internal jugular vein by injection at antecubital vein were all measured. Results The discrepancy of peak in artery among groups was not statistically different. It was statistically different in the same segments of vein. Conclusion CTA of cerebral and carotid arteries with the dual-source CT triggered technique can be clearly showed with 20HU as triggered threshold.

To observe the effect of Astragali Radix polysaccharides (APS) on the learning and memory functions of aged rats, in order to explore its mechanism for improving the learning and memory functions. Natural aging female SD rats were selected in the animal model and randomly divided into the control group, the APS low-dose group (50 mg x kg(-1)), the APS high-dose group (150 mg x kg(-1)) and the piracetam-treated group (560 mg x kg(-1)). They were orally administered with the corresponding drugs for consecutively 60 days. Besides, a young control group was set. The learning and memory functions of the rats were tested by the open-field test and the Morris water maze task. The Western-blot method was used to observe the levels of relevant neural plasticity protein N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDA receptor) in hippocampus, calcium/calmodulin dependent protein kinase II (CaMK II), protein kinase (PKA), the phosphorylation level of CAMP response element binding protein (CREB) and the protein expression of brain derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF). In this study, the authors found that the learning and memory functions and the hippocampus neural plasticity protein expression of the aged rat group were much lower than that of the young control group (P < 0.01). Compared with the aged rat group, the APS group showed the significant improvement in the impaired learning and memory functions of aged rats and the up-regulation in the hippocampus neural plasticity protein expression. The results showed that APS may improve the learning and memory functions of aged rats by increasing the expressions of relevant neural plasticity proteins.
