Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2010;29(3):341-344
Objective To set up an antibody-capture ELISA method to detect the Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV)antibody. Methods ELISA plate was coated with the monoclonal antibody which was specific to the envelope protein epitope E39 of JEV,JEV SA14-14-2 strain as the source of antigen was used to absorb the monoclonal antibody, the absorbed virus used to capture the JEV'S antibody. The antibody that captured ELISA was established. The indirect ELISA method using the virus particles from cell culture was compared with coating ELISA plate,105 clinical serum were checked. Results The background in indirect ELISA assay could not be abscised, positive and negative serum diluted in a ratio of 1:10,1:100,1:1000,the relative value of A posative/A negative were 1.02,0.99,1.13,all<2.1.But the antibody-captured ELISA method when the serum dilution was 1:10,1:100,the A posative/A negative were 3.57,2.94,all>2.1;when the dilution was 1:1000,the A posative/A negative was 1.42,<2.1,it meant the method could distinguish the positive and negative serum efficiently when the dilution Was 1:100,the background problem in indirect ELISA assay could be solved.Antibody-capture method was used to check 105 serum samples, the A posative/A negative over a range of 0.257~0.321(0.262±0.050),all<2.1,no positive sample found. Conclusion The antibody-capture ELISA method has been preliminary set up with a high specificity, capable of quickly identifying JEV from other virus.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(2):199-202
Under the influence of Chinese medicine scientization, Chengjiang Acupuncture School, which was originated in the Republic of China (1912 - 1949), has also undergone a series of scientific practice. The Chengjiang School established scientific research, education and medical organizations such as the Research Society of China Acupuncture-Moxibustion, China Acupuncture-Moxibustion School, Training School of China Acupuncture-Moxibustion and Sanatorium of Acupuncture-Moxibustion. Zhenjiu Zazhi (Journal of Acupuncture-Moxibustion) was established, and monographs and textbooks such as Zhongguo Zhenjiu Zhiliaoxue (Therapeutics of Chinese Acupuncture-Moxibustion) and Zhongguo Zhenjiuxue Jiangyi (Lectures on Chinese Acupuncture-Moxibustion) were published. Meanwhile, based on clinical practice, large members of acupuncture personnel with scientific literacy emerged. Therefore, it is held that the scientization of Chengjiang School has performed a profound influence on the development of modern acupuncture-moxibustion.

5.Advances in the study of tumor pH-responsive polymeric micelles for cancer drug targeting delivery.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2009;44(12):1328-1335
This review presents the state of the art of pH-responsive polymeric micelles for cancer drug delivery. Solid tumors have a weakly acidic extracellular pH (pH < 7), and cancer cells have even more acidic pH in endosomes and lysosomes (pH 4-6). The pH-gradients in tumor can be explored for tumor targeting and drug release in cancer drug delivery by applying pH-responsive polymeric micelles. The pH-responsive polymeric micelles consist of a corona and a core, and are made of amphiphilic copolymers, in which there are pH-responsive polymeric blocks. Two types of pH-responsive polymers-protonizable polymers and acid-labile polymers have been mainly used to make pH-responsive micelles for drug delivery. The protonizable polymers are polybases or polyacids, and their water-soluble/insoluble or charge states undergo changes with the protonation or deprotonation stimulated by external acidity, while the acid-labile polymers change their physical properties by chemical reaction stimulated by the acidity. Polymeric micelles whose core or coronas respond to the tumor extracellular acidity can be explored for triggering the fast release of the carried drug, activating the targeting group and accelerating the endocytosis of drug-loaded polymeric micelles, and those whose core or coronas respond to the tumor lysosomal acidity can be used for facilitating their escape from the lysosomes and targeting the nucleus. Various in vivo and in vitro experiments demonstrated that pH-responsive polymeric micelles are effective for cellular targeting, internalization, fast drug release and nuclear localization, and hence enhancing the therapeutic efficacy and reducing the side effect of cancer chemical therapy.

6.Analysis on meridian view of professor CHENG Dan-an.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2012;32(2):167-170
To collect and arrange the explanations of meridian theory of professor CHENG Dan-an at different stages, and analyze the point, value and connotation of views of meridian theory of professor CHENG Dan-an. Affected by western medicine, professor CHENG Dan-an once expounded the views of meridian theory from blood vessel and nerves, and eventually returned the study to tradition. Moreover, he held on that meridian theory was the key point of acupuncture foundation and clinic was the important perspective for meridian theory understanding and researching.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2012;32(3):273-278
The times background and the forming process of Chengjiang Acupuncture School which composed mainly of Mr. CHENG Dan-an and his followers are studied in this paper. It is concluded that the forming of Chengjiang Acupuncture School is based on the kindness of its founder and his followers to the poor and patients, as well as their devotion to acupuncture-moxibustion which are characterized by cheap, convenient and effective features. The development and growth of the school profited from new China's health policy which attached equal importance to both Chinese and western medicines. The school's formation and development process highlighte its features of firm convictions, courage when facing difficulties and keeping pace with the times.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2012;32(1):83-86
The first hand documents, the process and achievements of Mr. CHENG' s study in Japan in the 1930s were investigated in order to provide basic information to explore the original academic thoughts of Mr. CHENG and the Chengjiang Acupuncture School. It was concluded that the experiences of Mr. CHENG's study in Japan had significant influence on enriching and developing his academic thoughts. It has not only enhanced his confidence in therapeutic effect of moxibustion and revival of Chinese acupuncture, but also established the foundation for the reform of needles and expansion of the domain of Chinese acupuncture and its development after returning home.

Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae 2012;34(6):545-549
OBJECTIVETo investigate the infection rate and subtypes of human papilloma virus(HPV) in patients with oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and analyze the clinicopathologic features of patients with or without HPV infection.
METHODSA total of 66 biopsy or surgical specimens of OSCC archived in the Pathology Department of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and the generic amplification products were detected by DNA enzyme immunoassay (DEIA) and typed by reverse hybridization line probe assay.
RESULTSHPV-DNA was detected in 11 (16.7%) of all specimens. Among them, 7 were infected with HPV-16,and the remaining 4 patients were infected with HPV-16/11, HPV-35, HPV-58/52, and HPV-33/52/54, respectively. HPV-16 was detected in 72.7% of all positive specimens. There were more females in HPV-positive group than HPV-negative group (36.4% vs. 1.8%,P=0.002). Patients with HPV-positive tumors were more likely to be non-smokers (36.4% vs. 0,p=0.001) and non-drinkers (45.5% vs. 1.8%,p=0.001) than those with HPV-negative tumors. The proportion of moderately or poorly differentiated tumors was higher in HPV-positive patients than HPV-negative patients (81.8% vs. 63.7%), although without statistical significance (p=0.409). No difference was observed in T classification, N classification, and overall tumor stage.
CONCLUSIONSHPV infection rate was 16.7% in this cohort. HPV-positive OSCC has its unique etiologic and clinicopathological characteristics.
