OBJECTIVETo evaluate the clinical efficacy of Yiqi Jianpi Recipe (YJR) in treating cancer-related fatigue (CRF) after chemotherapy in lung cancer patients. Methods Totally 124 lung cancer patients were assigned to the treatment group (63 cases) and the control group (61 cases) according to random digit table. All patients received pre-set chemotherapy regimens according their conditions. Patients in the treatment group took YJR Decoction from the 1st day of chemotherapy, one dose per day for 2 successive weeks, while those in the control group took no Chinese medical decoction. Changes of each dimensional scoring and the total scoring were observed by cancer fatigue scale (CFS) in the two groups one day before chemotherapy, on the 3rd day and the 14th day after chemotherapy. The degree of bone marrow depression and recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (rhG-CFS) doses were also observed after chemotherapy.

RESULTSCompared with one day before chemotherapy in the same group, scorings for emotional, perceptional, and somatologic dimensions, and the total scoring significantly increased on the 3rd day in the treatment group, as well as on the 3rd and the 14th day in the control group (P <0. 01). Scorings for emotional, perceptional, and somatologic dimensions, and the total scoring significantly decreased more at the fourteenth day after chemotherapy than at the 3rd day after chemotherapy (P <0. 01). There was statistical difference in the scoring for perceptional dimension at day 3 between the treatment group and the control group (P <0.01). However, scorings for emotional, perceptional, and somatologic dimensions, and the total scoring significantly decreased more at the fourteenth day after chemotherapy in the treatment group, with statistical difference when compared with those in the control group (P <0. 01). The occurrence rate of bone marrow depression was 70. 97% (44/62) in the treatment group and 68. 85% (42/61) in the control group. There was no significant difference in the occurrence rate between the two groups (χ2=0. 540, P >0.05). There was no statistical difference in rhG-CFS doses between the two groups (χ2=0. 696, P >0. 05).

CONCLUSIONYJD could significantly relieve CRF after chemotherapy in lung cancer patients, and obviously attenuate the effect of CRF on their daily life.

Objective To study the disinfection effect of ozone on the natural bacteria in indoor air and the central air condition ductwork. Methods Ozonizer was installed on the outlet of central air condition main pipeline and when it began to send breeze, ozone was taken to each branch piping and each room. Then, at the vents of pipeline and in the rooms, the quantity of the natural germs was examined before and after disinfection respectively. The death rate was calculated. Results After 60 minutes of ozone disinfection, the death rate of the natural germs at the vents of central air condition was 60%-90%, that of indoor air was -40.00%-71.43%. Conclusion Ozone can effectively kill the natural germs in ductwork of central air condition, but when the concentration of ozone is lower and there are people in the room, the efficiency will decrease.

Objective To study the counteraction of l- tetrahydropalmatine (l- THP) against bromocriptine (Bro)- induced hypoprolactin in lactational rats and to prove that l- THP is an antagonist of dopamine D2 receptors. Methods The lactational rat model with hypoprolactin was established by subcutaneous injection of Bro (0.5 mg/kg).The counteraction of l- THP (6 and 18 mg/kg, ip)was evaluated by observing serum prolactin (PRL) level, weight growing in newly born rats, and histology changes of mammary gland. Results Bro (0.5 mg/kg, sc) reduced the PRL level and induced the dysplasia of mammary gland in lactational rats. Bro also caused the retardation of the weight growing in newly- born rats. l- tetrahydropalmatine 6 and 18 mg/kg ip remarkably increased the prolactin level and promoted the development of mammary gland in lactational rats models and promoted the weight growing in newly- born rats. Conclusion l- tetrahydropalmatine(l- THP) has an antagonism against dopamine D2 receptors.

Objective To evaluate the efifcacy and safety of endoscopic submucosal dissection in treatment of prolapse of gastric mucosa.Methods to meet the typical gastric mucosal prolapse of gastric mucosa under endoscopy, the ultrasonic gastroscopy confirmed that the lesion was in the mucosal layer, and the disease was excluded. After PPI continuous treatment for 3 months, no signiifcant improvement in symptoms, in patients with informed consent under the premise of endoscopic mucosal stripping. After 3 months of the operation return visit section for outpatients re-examination of gastroscopy.Results 10 cases of complications of endoscopic submucosal dissection of gastric mucosa prolapse patients had no hemorrhage, perforation after operation, postoperative patients were followed up for 3 months, the symptoms were improved obviously, no antral mucosal prolapse was observed under endoscope.Conclusion Endoscopic submucosal dissection is effective and safe in treatment of gastric mucosal prolapse.

Objective To study the expression of CD44v6 and CD44s in bladder transitional cell carcinomas. Methods: The immunohistochemical staining of monoclonsl antibodies CD44v6 and CD44s were operated in 79 bladder transitional cell carinomas. Results (1) A strong expression of CD44v6 and CD44s were observed in atypical proliferation cells of bladder caricnoma in situ. (2) CD44v6 and CD44s expressed in recurrent I or Ⅱ grade transitional cell carcinomas were 90%(18/20) and 40%(8/20). (3) The positive expression rates of CD44v6 and CD44s were 43. 1%(31/72) and 13. 9%(10/72)in invasive transitional cell carcinomas; moreover, the expression of CD44v6 reduced with the poor differentiation and the deeply invasive growth of transitional eell carcinomas. Conclusion The investigation results suggested that CD44v6 played a role in the formation and recurrence of the bladder transitional cell carcinomas, but the reduced expression of CD44v6 probably related with the poor differentiation and invasive growth of the bladder transitional cell carcinomas.

Objective To investigate the expression of bcl-2 and PCNA in mixed tumor of skin. Methods Bcl-2 and PCNA expression in 12 cases of mixed tumor of skin were studied using immunohistochemical S-P method and double-staining. Results Positive reactions of bcl-2 and PCNA were observed in all cases. PCNA staining was positive in tumor cells lining cystic and duct-like structures in tumor nests, but bcl-2 staining was positive in epitheloid tumor cells. Most tumor cells with bcl-2 were PCNA negative and vice versa. Conclusion Aberrant expression of bcl-2 and PCNA in mixed tumor of skin may play a role in tumorigenesis.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect on female stress urinary incontinence (SUI) treated with the pudendal nerve stimulation of electroacupuncture therapy at different frequencies.

METHODSSixty patients were divided into a group treated three times every week (group A) and a group treated twice every week (group B), 30 cases in each one. The pudendal nerve stimulation of electroacupuncture therapy was adopted at Disixue (four acupoints on sacral region), 60 min in each time in the two groups, treated three times a week or twice a week respectively. SUI severity and the score of life quality were observed before and after 12 treatments separately. The efficacy was evaluated in the two groups.

RESULTSAt the end of treatment, SUI severity was relieved and the score of life quality was improved in the two groups (all P<0.01). The results in group A were superior to group B [0 (0-4.3) vs 4 (0-5), P<0.01]. At the end of treatment, the total effective rate in group A was 90.0% (27/30) and was 76.7% (23/30) in group B; the efficacy in group A was better than that in group B (P<0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe pudendal nerve stimulation of electroacupuncture therapy achieves the definite efficacy on female SUI and the results in the treatment of three times a week are superior to those in the treatment of twice a week.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of retrobulbar injection with triamcinolone acetonide (TA) for macular edema caused by retinal vein occlusion (RVO). Design Retrospective case series. Participants 21 eyes of 21 patients with macular edema caused by RVO. Methods Retrobulbar injection with TA 40 mg was performed on 21 eyes. The visual acuity, intraocular pres-sure, fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) and macular central thickness under the optical coherence tomography (OCT) were recorded and analyzed before and after treatment. The follow-up duration was 6-11 months. Main Outcome Measures The visual acuity and the macular central thickness of OCT. Result Visual acuity was improved at the end of follow-up in 16 eyes (76.2%) and unchanged in 5 eyes (23.8%). Macular central thickness was (287.55±121.70) μm at the end of follow-up and (617.23±185.58) μm before treatment. The difference was statistically significant(P=0.000). After treatment, the comparison of visual acuity and macular central thickness be-tween CRVO patients and BRVO patients, as well as between ischemic RVO patients and non-ischemic RVO patients had no significant difference (P>0.05). In patients of course less than 6 months, the visual prognosis after treatment is better than that of before treatment (P=0.011, 0.01), while in patients of course more than 6 months, no difference of vision could be detected before and after treatment (P= 0.583). The result of FFA showed decrease of fluorescein leakage. During follow-up, intraocular pressure of all patients was in the nor-real range. Recurrence of macular edema was found in 8 eyes 2 to 6 months after treatment. Conclusions Retrobulbar injection with TA is a safe, effective, and easy method to treat macular edema caused by RVO. Objective To compare the effect of the different operation for mammary duct fistula (MDF). Method The clinical data of 85 cases of MDF were analysed retrospectively. Continuous section examinations between the multiple fistula was performed in 3 cases undergoing breastectomy.Results Among the 85 cases with 146 MDF, the opening located within 5cm around areola in 129 cases. MDF incision was performed on 38 cases, 34 cases cured, 4 cases recurred;MDF resection was performed in 44 cases, all the 44 cases were cured;simple mastectomy was performed on 3 cases of extensive breast inflammation,all the 3 cases cured. Conclusions Most of MDF occurs in main mammary duct. Most of the opening of MDF are around the areola. MDF incision or resection is the first choice of operation.
