Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of serum soluble transferrin receptor(sTfR) in children with iron deficiency anemia(IDA).Methods Sixty-three children with microcytic hypochromic anemia were divided into IDA and non-IDA(n-IDA)groups,on which sTfR and other iron metabolism related indexes such as serum ferritin(SF) and serum iron(SI) were measured,and(t-test) between groups and analysis of ROC curve were carried out. Results The mean concentration of sTfR in the group of IDA was above normal value and t-test difference was extremely significant compared with n-IDA group(P

Objective To systematically assess the incidence of needlestick injury in Chinese nursing interns. Methods Research articles published on China Academic Journal Electronic Retrieval Database (CNKI),Chinese Scientific Journals Full-text Database (VIP),Wanfang DATA,ISI Web of Knowledge,PUBMED,OVID,Springer and other databases before 2013 were searched, which were relevant to needlestick injury in Chinese nursing interns.Using STATA 12.0 software, pooled estimates were summarized by Meta-analysis.Results 61 articles were included in this study, which covered a total of 15 451 nursing interns.Meta-analysis showed that the pooled incidence of needlestick injury in nursing interns was 65%,95%CI=60%~71%.Although the incidence declined year by year in recent decade,it was still higher than 55%.However,the injury reporting rate was 22%,95% CI=16%~29%.Conclusions Needlestick injury showed a high incidence in Chinese nursing interns, but declined slightly year by year. However, the injury reporting rate was still very low.

Liver tissues around hydatid from 8 patients with cystic echinococcosis were observed by transmission electron microscopy, normal hepatic tissues of 6 cases were used as control. The results demonstrated predominant atrophy and necrosis of hepatocytes. These changes seem to be the major hepatic lesion in cystic echinococcosis.

7.Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.
Journal of the Korean Medical Association 2009;52(10):1020-1029
Abdominal aortic aneurysm is a common disease that may be lethal when ruptured. A need for the repair is indicated when the aneurysm becomes greater than 5.5 cm in diameter or grows more than 0.6 cm per year. While open surgical repair has been performed safely, an endovascular approach is used in select patients if the aortic and iliac anatomy are amenable. The present review summarizes the knowledge of the pathophysiological incidence and risk, as well as current treatment strategies of AAA on the basis of current literatures.

Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2015;31(4):378-382
UNLABELLEDObjective: In order to assess the integrative cardiopulmonary function after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD), we used symptom limited maximum cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET).
METHODSAll 59 patients diagnosed stable CAD by coronary angiography and echocardiography from August to December of 2014 in our hospital, were divided two groups. PCI group, 31 patients received PCI and drugs. Control group, 28 patients received drugs therapy only. All patients performed CPET before and after the treatment.
RESULTSAll patients safely completed CPET without any complications. The control group, all functional parameters were unchanged (P > 0.05). PCI group, the anaerobic threshold, peak oxygen uptake and peak oxygen pulse increased significantly (P < 0.05) from baseline, but not for others (P > 0.05). For individual analysis, PCI group had higher rates of increase (≥ 10% of baseline) in both peak oxygen uptake and peak oxygen pulse than those of control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONCPET is an objective, quantitative, safe and effective method to evaluate the clinical therapeutic efficiency. PCI can improve the integrative cardiopulmonary function in CAD patients.

Objective To investigate characteristics of glucose metabolism of non-obese and obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Methods From May 2006 to April 2009, 1928 PCOS patients treated in Reproductive Medicine Center of Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University were enrolled in this study, which were divided into 901 cases [body mass index (BMI) ≥25 kg/m2] in obese group and 1027 cases in non-obese (BMI < 25 kg/m2) group. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), oral glucose tolerance test, impaired fasting glucose (IFG), impaired glucose tolerance(IGT) were compared between the two groups. Results (1) Blood glucose levels: at the time of fasting, 30, 60, 120 and 180 minutes, the levels of glucose were (5. 3±1.1), (9. 0±2. 4), (9. 3±4. 4),(7.5±2.8) ,(5.3±1.8)mmol/L in obese group and (5.0±0. 8) ,(8.4±3.5),(8.0±4.2),(6.5±3.2) ,(4. 9±1.6) mmol/L in non-obese group, which all showed statistical difference at every time point (P < 0. 01). (2)The level of insulin: at the time of fasting, 30, 60, 120 min, the level of insulin were (13±7), (81±51), (102±65), (83±63) mU/L in obese group and (8±5) ,(57±35) ,(62±44),(46±39) mU/L in non-obese group, which all showed statistical differenceatevery time point (P <0. 01). However, at time point of 180 minutes, the level of insulin did not exhibit significantly difference between obese and non-obese group (P > 0. 05). (3) The prevalence of abnormal glucose metabolism: the rate of IFG was 4. 98% (96/1928). The rate of abnormal glucose tolerance was 23. 08% (445/1928). The rate of IGT were 13.05% (134/1027) in non-obese group and 24. 20% (218/901) in obese group, which also showed remarkable difference (P < 0. 01). The rate of T2DM were 2. 53% (26/1027) in nonobese group and 7.44% (67/901) in obese group, which reached significant difference (P < 0. 01).Conclusion Abnormal glucose metabolism was observed more frequently in overweight or obese PCOS women.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the genotypes of plasmid-mediated AmpC beta-lactamases carried in Klebsiella pneumoniae,to provide reasonable use of antibacterial agents and to reduce the spread of these drug resistant genes.METHODS Two hundred and eighteen strains of K.pneumoniae were performed in Tongji Hospital in Wuhan.Plasmid-mediated AmpC beta-lactamases-producing strains were screened by improved three-dimensional method and identified by multiplex PCR.DNA sequencing method was used to confirm these drug resistant strains. The MIC of 15 kinds of antibacterial agents against the clinical isolates was detected by double agar dilution method.RESULTS Thirteen strains of K.pneumoniae were detected by improved three-dimensional method. The detection rates were 5.96%.There were seven of thirteen positive strains of K.pneumoniae through improved three-dimensional method harboring DHA-1 type plasmid-mediated AmpC beta-lactamase by multiplex PCR and confirmed by DNA sequencing.Plasmid-mediated AmpC beta-lactamase producers revealed a highly drug resistance to cephalosporins,monobactams,beta-lactam/beta-lactamase inhibitor combinations, aminoglycosides and fluoroquinolones.Only imipenem was susceptible to all of these detected strains.CONCLUSIONS DHA-1 plasmid-mediated AmpC beta-lactamase is detected in K.pneumoniae strains from Tongji Hospital. The detection rate is 3.2%.The pAmpC-producing strains reveal multi-drug resistance.Only imipenem is susceptible to them.
