Esophageal cancer related gene 4 (ECRG4) serves as a tumor suppressor gene through interacting with NF-κB and p53 pathways.Multiple studies have demonstrated that the down-regulated expression of ECRG4 occurs in a variety of cancer types, indicating a potential application of ECRG4 as a molecular diagnostic marker as well as a therapeutic target

Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 1998;0(01):-
Objective To study the interphase FISH of cells from aminotic fluid in the third trimester prospectively. Methods Amniotic fluid (5ml) was obtained in 32 pregnant women in the third trimester who underwent cordocentesis for karyotyping. FISH was performed on uncultured am niocytes and the results were compared with karyotypes. Results Abnormal aneuploid were identified in 6 cases among the 32 women. The FISH results were consistent with the karyotypes. Conclusions Interphase FISH in third-trimester amniocentesis can provide an accurate clinical diagnosis on common aneupoidies.

Journal of Regional Anatomy and Operative Surgery 2015;24(6):627-629
Objective The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between acute mountain sickness ( AMS) and AMS susceptibility indices before ascent to high altitude and to evaluate their predictive value for AMS. Methods A total of 314 healthy male a-dults were voluntarily enrolled. Their 22 physiological and mental indices of AMS susceptibility were obtained before exposure high altitude. The diagnoses of AMS were based on the Lake Louise score ( LLS) ,an international standard scoring system for AMS. According to the char-acteristics of selected AMS susceptibility indices and the strong fault tolerance of neural network theory, the learning vector quantization ( LVQ) neural network method was adopted to build the prediction model of susceptibility to AMS. Results The results showed the sensitiv-ity of the LVQ model which distinguishes subjects with no-AMS reached 95. 00%,the average correct-prediction precision ultimately reached 72. 22%. The result of prediction is believable. Conclusion The builded LVQ model provide a scientific method for screening crowd who quickly ascend to high altitude, and also can lead to an effective preliminary screening of susceptibility to AMS.

Objective To analyze the expression of excision repair cross-complementation group 1 (ERCC1),MutS protein homolog 2 (MSH2) and poly ADP-ribose polymerase 1 (PARP1) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and their prognostic value for patients receiving platinum-based postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Methods Immunohistochemistry was applied to detect the expression of ERCC1,MSH2 and PARP1 in 111 cases of NSCLC paraffin embedded surgical specimens.Through OG-Rank survival analysis, the prognostic value of the ERCC1,MSH2,PARP1 and the related clinic pathological factors were evaluated.Cox regression analysis was used to determine whether ERCC1,MSH2 and PARP1 were independent prognostic factors or not. Results Among the 111 NSCLC patients, the positive expression rates of ERCC1,MSH2 and RARP1 were 33.3 %(37/111),36.9 %(41/111) and 55.9 %(62/111),respectively.Besides,a total of 72 patients who received platinum-based chemotherapy had complete follow-up data.ERCC1 (P< 0.001) and PARP1 (P=0.033) were found to be correlated with the survival time while there was no correlation for MSH2 (P =0.298).Patients with both ERCC1 and PARP1 negative had significant longer survival time than those with ERCC1 (P=0.042) or PARP1 (P=0.027) positive alone.Similarly, the survival time of patients with both ERCC1 and PARP1 positive was shorter than those with ERCC1 (P=0.048) or PARP1 (P=0.010) positive alone. Conclusions The NSCLC patients with ERCC1 and (or) PARP1 negative may benefit from platinumbased postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. The detection of ERCC1 and PARP1 can be used as an important method to assess the prognosis of patients with NSCLC.

Objective To observe the concentration of the inflammatory cytokines in vitreous of severe proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) after intravitreal ranibizumab injection (IVR).Methods A total of 80 PDR patients (80 eyes) were enrolled in this study. The patients were randomly divided into vitrectomy group (group A) and IVR combined with vitrectomy group (group B),40 eyes in each group. The differences of sex(x2=0.05),age (t=0.59),duration of diabetes (t=0.36),HbA1c (t=0.13) and intraocular pressure (F=0.81) between two groups were not significant (P>0.05).The eyes in group B received 0.5 mg (0.05 ml) ranibizumab injection at 7 days before operation. The vitreous samples (0.4 ml)were obtained before operation. The concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF),interleukin (IL)-6,IL-8,intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. Results The concentration of VEGF and ICAM-1 were (10.70±3.60),(224.64±90.32) pg/L in group B and (72.38±23.59),(665.61±203.34)pg/L in group A.The differences of VEGF and ICAM-1 concentration between two groups was significant (t=16.34,12.53 ; P< 0.001).The concentration of IL-6 and IL-8 were (210.64 ± 80.27),(156.00±57.74) pg/L in group B and (45.78±33.82),(41.07±13.82) pg/L in group A.The differences of IL-6 and IL-8 concentration between two groups was significant (t=11.97,12.24; P<0.001).There was no difference of CTGF concentration between two groups (t=1.39,P=0.17).The CTGF/VEGF in group B was higher than that in group A (t=14.75,P<0.001).Conclusions One week after IVR,the concentration of VEGF and ICAM-1 are decreased, while IL-6 and IL-8 increased. There is no obvious change in CTGF,but CTGF/VEGF is increased.

Objective To investigate the separation of extracellular polysaccharide from Porphyridium cruentum and its anti-HBV activity in vitro. Methods The extracellular polysaccharide(EP) of Porphyridium cruentum was extracted and isolated from the culture medium.HBeAg was assayed by ELISA and MTT methods. Results Element analysis showed that the extracellular polysaccharide contained N 0.82%,C 32.91%,H 6.19% and amino acid(2.49%).The IR and UV spectrum of EP determination showed typical absorption curve of polysaccharide, pyranglycoside linkage, sulfate ester.EP had a significant inhibition to HBeAg excretion with low toxicity on the cells and a better therapeutic index(TI).Conclusion The results suggested that EP has inhibitory effect on the hepatitis B virus in vitro.
