3.The Expression Rate and Pattern of HBcAg and HBsAg in the Hepatocytes According to the Histologic Activity of Cirrhosis.
Korean Journal of Pathology 1995;29(5):669-677
Since the discovery of hepatitis B virus as one of the causes of hepatitis, liver and hepatocellular carcinoma, many hepatitis B viral markers that appear in infected individuals have been discovered and many efforts to understand the relationship between the emergence of viral markers and the progression of hepatitis have been performed. Gudat (1975) compared the expression of HBcAg and HBsAg in various conditions and stages of hepatitis but the pattern of expression of viral markers and its significance have not been understood. Recently it was found by mierocytotoxicity assay that HBcAg might be the target of T lymphocytes. This study attempted to identify any correlation of the tissue expression rate and pattern of HBcAg and HBsAg with the histologic activity of 46 cases of liver cirrhosis using immunohistochemical staining. The expression rate and pattern of HBcAg and HBsAg in relation to the nodular size and positivity of serum HBeAg were also compared. The results were as follows; 1) The expression rate of HBcAg in the liver was 41.3% (19/46). and that of HBsAg was 67.4% (31/46). 2) The histologic activity of liver cirrhosis appeared to be correlated with the expression of HBcAg, especially cytoplasmic HBcAg. 3) The positivity of serum HBeAg was significantly higher in active liver cirrhosis. 4) There was no relationship between the tissue expression of HBsAg and the histologic activity of liver cirrhosis. relationship existed between the nodular size and expression rate and pattern of HBcAg and HBsAg. This study suggests that the tissue HBcAg, especially the cytoplasmic HBcAg is the most likely factor determining the histologic activity of liver cirrhosis, and that the cytoplasmic HBcAg may be the ultimate cause and target of most host immune response.

4.The Effect of NutriPlus Program among 1-5 Year Children in Daejeon Area - The Improvement in Nutritional Status of Children and Nutrition Knowledge and Attitude of Parents -.
Korean Journal of Community Nutrition 2013;18(1):1-10
This study investigated the effect of nutritional improvement of 1-5 year children participated in NutriPlus program. The program was carried out at Public health Center, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon from March 2009 to April 2011. The subjects were selected among applicants for low-income family financing of the government and included 90 children and their parents. they were divided into 2 groups (less than 6 months and more than 6 months of participation in the study). We analyzed the effects of NutriPlus program and nutrition education in both study groups. The results of this study were summarized as follows: The number of children with less than 10th percentile in height and weight and weight for height was decreased. The anemia prevalence rate was reduced from 64.4% to 8.9%. NAR value of subjects increased for energy, protein, calcium, iron, vitamin A, riboflavin, niacin and vitamin C. The education program improved knowledge and attitude of the parents. In nutrition knowledge according to the income level, there were greater changes in the group of less than 100% compared to the subsistence. In nutrition attitude according to the education level, there were greater changes in the group of middle school graduates than in high school graduates or college graduates. There were no difference between less than 6 months group and more than 6 months group in improvement of hemoglobin level, anthropometric data and nutrients intakes. Based on these results, we conclude that providing supplementary food to children and nutrition education brought positive effects on growth of the children.

5.A Case of Woringer-Kolopp Disease.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1985;23(3):415-418
Woringer-Kolopp disease, so called pagetoid reticulosis, is most likely represent a chronic localized from of reticulosis. A 24-year old male patient visited with asymptomatic slowly enlarging, scaly single patch on his left thigh for 10 years duration. Histopathologic studies were taken with H-E stain, D-PAS, transmission electronmicroscopy and monoclonal antibody(OK6) tissue stain. Infiltration of atypical cells showed in the lower portion of epidermis like pagetoid patterned, none in dermis. It seems to be that the cell in this case probably originated from the stimuIated T-lymphocyte.

6.Treatment of Witiligo with Oral Methoxsalen and UVA.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1985;23(5):643-649
Among ]20 vitiligo patients who visited our clinic during the period of January 1984 to February 1985, 39 patients were treated with oral methoxsalen (8-MOP) and UVA for more than 6 months, The following conclusions were obtained by analysis of the clinical histories and efficacy of PUVA treatment: 1. The mean age of 39 patients was 31 and that of onset was 21. An average of 1() years elapsed from the onset of the disease prior to visiting our clinic. The initial involvement was observed, in decreasing order of frequency, on the trunk, face and/or neck and extremities. 3, The repigmentation started most frequently from the trunk followed by the extremities, face and/or neck after treatment of 2 months and 14 irradiations on the average. 4, There was a direct relationship between the frequency and duration of treatment and its effectiveness. 5. The trunk showed the best response to the treatment, followed by the extremities; face and/or neck. The most resistant sites were the the hand and/or foot. 6. No specific relationship was found between the patient's age, duration of illness and responsiveness to the treatment. 7. The side effects were minimal and transient.

Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(5):747-751
Urachal carcinoma is an uncommon neoplasm associated with a poor prognosis. We have encountered two another cases of urachal adenocarcinoma recently 5 years after our first report. The common sign of urachal cancer was painless hematuria. We diagnosed the specific site of origin preoperatively by means of computerized tomography. One patient was performed partial cystectomy and another was total cystectomy with double barrel ureterocutaneostomy. A brief review of the literature of urachal adenocarcinoma was also made.

Ninety black C 57 BL mice were divided into control and photochemotherapy groups. Control group was subdivided into a UVA 1rradiation only subgroup and a khellin only administration subgroup, while the phototherapy group was subdivided into one TMP and two khellin administration subgroups with dosages of 1.5mg/kg, 5mg/kg and 20mg/kg, respectivly. UVA was administered three thimes a week in a dose of 4J/cm for 4 weeks. Skin biopsies were taken at 0, l, 2, 3 and 4 weeks and the split DOPA stain was employed to observe pigment production. The number, size and circumference of the melanocytes were assessed. In summary, our results inclicate that khellin, which is slightly less effective than TMP at the same effective dose, is quite effective for pigment production and the degree of the production is dose related.

10.A Case of The Krukenberg Tumor.
Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine 1989;6(2):271-277
There have been reported cases that the Krukenberg Tumor had been primary ovarian carcinoma. But the Krukenberg Tumor is generally known as one special type of metastatic ovarian carcinoma, which histologically consists of nest of mucin filled signet-ring cells in a cellular, nonneoplastic stroma. The most common gastrointestinal tract origin for Krukenberg tumor is the stomach, and the next frequent is the large intestine. Generally the Krukenberg tumor is difficult to diagnose and treat until somewhat enlarging its size. We experienced a case of the Krukenberg tumor on the remained ovary after the previous unilateral adnexectomy, which was metastasized from adenocarcinoma of stomach. We present this case with a brief review of literature.
