Korean Journal of Dermatology 1989;27(5):530-536
A clinical observation of tattoos was made during physical exarnination for conscription in Choongchengnarndo and northern area of Seoul from April to August, 1988. The result were as follows : 1. The most common educational level of tattoo pstient was in the middle school graduated group (55.9%). 2. The average age when first tattoo was made was 17.3% years. 3. Left arm was the most favorite site (44.45b). 4. Most of motivation for being tattooed was curiosity, heroism, for fun(51.2%). 5. Girl friends name, heart or heart and arrow, rose and one-mind were the most common contents of tattoos. 6. The average number of tattoo was 2.5. 7. More Tattoos were tattooed by themselves than by others (55.9%). 8. Most common tattoo material was chinese ink. 9. The complications of tattoo were found in 23 case (5.2%); hypertropic scar, keloid, post inflammatory hyper/hypo pigmentation and pyoderma. 10. The removal of tattoos were tried in 95 case (21.6%). The most frequent methods used were cigarette burning and scratching with a knife.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1987;21(2):108-110
Fetus papyraceus, also called fetus compressus, is a mummified and compressed fetus as a result of fetal death during pregnancy. It is always associated with twin pregnancy, and the other litter is usually alive to compress the dead feuts. The cause of death of the fetus is not always clear. Recently we had a case of fetus papyraceus from a 25-year-old woman, which we thought most probably caused by velamentous insertion of the umbilical cord into the dividing membrane of the placenta, resulting fetal death and subsequently becoming fetus papyraceus.

4.A Diagnostic Significance of Ultrasonography in Prostatic Disease.
Korean Journal of Urology 1985;26(6):609-614
From its size, location and structure, the prostate is one of the most suitable organs for the diagnostic application of ultrasound. Transrectal ultrasonography with transrectal linear array probe was per. formed in 19 controls and 36 patients with prostatic disease to evaluate the size and morphology of prostate. The following results were obtained: 1. The average values of maximum anteroposterior, superiorinferior and transverse diameter obtained from ultrasonograms were 2.2O+/-0.30cm, 3.38+/-0.35cm, 4.18+0.35cm in control group; 3.16+/-0.78 cm, 4.79+/-0.84 cm, 5.13+/-0.62cm in BPH; 3.40+/-0.84cm, 5.25+ 1.95cm, 5.73+/-1.16cm in prostatic cancer. 2. In a comparison of sonography and x-ray for detecting prostatic calculi, the detection rate of sonography (54.5 %) was higher than x-ray (25.5%). 3. Diagnostic accuracy of sonography was 88% in BPH and 100% in prostatic cancer. 4. Ultrasonographic findings in BPH were enlarged in size, homogeneity in echo pattern and all capsular echoes are continuous. In prostatic cancers, which have mixed echo pattern and capsule is thick with discontinuity. 5. Transrectal sonography is especially useful in estimating prostatic size and in detecting pathology such as BPH, prostatic cancer, prostatitis and abscess.

5.Age-Associated Modulation of Human Osteoskeletal Biology: A Review Article.

Korean Journal of Physical Anthropology 1994;7(2):137-155
This review-article is aimed at shedding a light upon the nature of age-associated changes in the human skeletal system. When the anatomical, physiological and biochemical consequences of bone aging are considered together with the hardening, drying and the diminished repair capabilities of the elderly, it can be seen that fractures assume greater importance as a clinical problem in the geriatric population. Older people start out with a deficit of cortical bone, making them more fracture prone and once fractures occur, the necessary treatments (immobilization, use of casts, etc.) accelerate the rate of bone loss. In addition, aged individuals stand a higher risk for complications of the hospital and enforced bed rest that may ensue. The problems resulting from bone loss in the elderly may be partially alleviated by providing adequate health service support which should include consideration of the following points : 1. Age, sex and general health status ; 2. Habits and inclinations towards physical activities ; 3. Nutritional and endocrine background ; 4. Presence of any specific bone diseases, including osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, osteomalacia and ankylosis ; 5. Psychosocial adaptability and other behavioral elements.

7.Changes on the urinary Prostaglandin E2 Values in the Upper Urinary Calculi.
Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(1):33-38
Although some recent studies showed that increased synthesis of vasodilatory prostaglandin E2 were possible factor in the maintenance of renal blood flow during the states of impaired renal perfusion. However this fact is not studied in cases of upper urinary tract calculi yet. This study is to estimate the value of urinary prostaglandin E2 in cases of upper urinary calculi. The amount of prostaglandin E2 in urinary excretion was measured by radioimmunoassay in ten cases of complete ureteral obstruction compared with normal side, in eleven cases of partial ureteral obstruction compare with normal side and in three cases of bilateral renal calculi. The results obtained were summerized as follows: 1. The values of urinary prostaglandin E2 were highly elevated in cases of bilateral renal calculi. 2. In ten cases of complete ureteral obstruction, the values of urinary prostaglandin E2 decreased in comparison with those of the normal side. 3. In eleven cases of partial obstructions of the ureter, urinary prostaglandin 2, values were elevated than those of the normal side.

Korean Journal of Urology 1985;26(5):533-536
Pertutaueous transluminal angioplasty is the treatment of choice for renovascular hypertension in cases due to the renal vascular occlusion which is not severe enough to pass dilatation catheter. The advantages of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty are the use of local anesthesia, its noninvasiveness without surgical risk, feasibility of repetition and shorter hospital days compared with surgical methods. We are presenting a case of renovascular hypertension due to atherosclerosis cured by percutaneous transluminal angioplasty with the review of literatures.
