Acta Anatomica Sinica 1953;0(01):-
The arteries of the foot in one hundred Chinese adult specimens were dissected and examined. 1. The dorsalis pedis artery was absent in 4%, and it originated from an abnormal origin in 5%, its course and relationship with the tendon of the extensor hallucis longus and deep peroneal nerve were also described. 2. The anterior medial and anterior lateral malleolar arteries originated more commonly at the level of the ankle joint, and sometimes they may originate from the dorsalis pedis artery. 3. The origin and number of the medial tarsal artery were variable, but that of the lateral tarsal artery were more constant. 4. The arcuate artery was present in 35%, but only 17% was typical in form, from which the 2nd-4th dorsal metatarsal arteries were giving off. 5. The sources of the dorsal metatarsal arteries were the most variable. The first dorsal metatarsal arteries which arose from dorsal or plantar aspect were similar in percentages. The 2nd-4th dorsal metatarsal arteries often originated from the plantar aspect, but it was not uncommon that they came equally from dorsal and plantar aspects. 6. The artery of the tarsal sinus was usually present, it may be divided into two categories, namely the proximal and the distal artery, with their distinct origins and courses. 7. The arterial trunks in the sole of the foot were more constant. The posterior tibial artery usually branched into its two main branches near the lower border of the laciniate ligament. 8. The lateral plantar artery was greater than the medial in 82%. And 71% of the plantar arch was formed chiefly by the deep plantar branch of the dorsalis pedis artery. 9. The plantar metatarsal arteries originated usually from the plantar arch, sometimes the neighbouring arteries may have a common trunk. The course of the Ist-3rd plantar metatarsal arteries was constant, but that of the 4th may be variable. Finally, some questions about the arteries of the foot, present in previous literatures, were briefly discussed.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1957;0(04):-
The diameters and projection area of the articular surfaces, contributed to the formation of the sacroiliac joint, were determined on 50 sets of pelvic bones with image analysing apparatus.By drawing a line connecting the most anterior point of the prominence to the deepest point of the posterior incisure, the articular surface may be divided into a superior and an inferior portions. The inferior portion was larger than the superior portion. Each portion of the articular surface on the ilium is slightly larger than that on the sacrum. In order to explore the relationship between the form of the articular surface and its function in transmitting the gravity of the human body, the stress of the neighbouring area near the anterior margin of the articular surface was determined. Moreover, the bony architecture on the cross section passing through the articular surface was observed. It suggests that the strain in the neighbouring area was in linear equation with the gravity loaded on the spinal column. The strongest stress was determined at the anterior margin of the anterior prominence and the thickness of the cortex lying on the relevant bones appears most obvious at the same sites. These results further improve that the bony architecture was consistent with the strain in bearing the body weight. Besides, the form of the articular surface was also adapted to its function.

Objective To study the influence of Annao tablet on the expression of transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) in acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) murine and to explore the interventional mechanism of TGF-β1 on aGVHD. Methods Hematopoietic stem cells of male Balb/c mice were transplanted to female C57BL/6 mice for the development of aGVHD murine model. Recipient mice were divided into Annao group and blank group randomly and respectively administrated with Annao soup (a kind of Chinese herb) and 0.9% sodium chloride intragastrically. Clinical symptom, survival time and body weight were recorded at 14th and 30th day and some sections of liver, small bowel and skin were taken for histological changes. Serum level of TGF-β1 were measured by enzyme-labeled immunosorbent assay (ELISA), splenocyte protein of TGF-β1 by Western Blot and TGF-β1 mRNA by fluorescent quantitation polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results Serum level of TGF-β1 in both groups had no statistical difference (P = 0.305), but it rose to (148.31 ± 7.95) ng/mL at 14th day and (183.48 ± 5.91) ng/mL at 30th day in Annao group, which had significant difference when compared with that in blank group (P = 0.000). IOD/IODβ-actin value of TGF-β1 protein in Annao group was 0.33 ± 0.05 at 14th day and 0.56 ± 0.04 at 30th day, which was higher than that in blank group (P = 0.000) and the expression of TGF-β1 mRNA of splenocyte in Annao group was 1.24 ± 0.04 at 14th day and 2.14 ± 0.33 at 30th day which was much higher than that in blank group (P = 0.000). Conclusion Annao tablet helps to relieve symptoms of acute GVHD by raising serum level of TGF-β1 and intensifying expression of protein of TGF-β1 and its mRNA.

Objective To investigate the setup error for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients with poor compliance using kV cone-beam computed tomography, and to calculate the expansion margin from the clinical target volume (CTV) to planning target volume (PTV).Methods In 45 NPC patients from 2013 to 2015,the setup error,95% confidence interval (CI)-1 for random error, and PTV-1 value were calculated. Moreover,in 16 NPC patients with poor compliance based on five verifications (random error not within 95% CI-1),the setup error,95% CI-2 for random error, and PTV-2 value were calculated. For the 16 special patients,PTV-1 and PTV-1 combined with PTV-2 were used to develop the plan-1 and plan-2,respectively.The dosimetric difference between plan-1 and plan-2 was evaluated. Results Both PTV-1 and PTV-2 had the largest expansion margin in the y direction. The CTV of plan-1 could not meet the requirement of the prescription dose after the setup error was introduced.Compared with plan-1,the V95% and D95 values for the CTV of plan-2 were increased by 6.26% and 4.43%,respectively.The D01 value was significantly larger in plan-2 than in plan-1 (P=0.005),which,however,met the clinical requirement. Conclusions In patients with poor compliance, the dose to target volume can be effectively elevated and the normal tissue can be spared from damage when PTV-1 combined with PTV-2 is selected as expansion margin.

Objective To determine the prevalence and genotype profiles of urogenital Chlamydia trachomatis and their related factors in patients attending sexually transmitted diseases (STD) clinics in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Methods C. trachomatis was screened by a plasmid PCR in 598 patients attending STD clinics. Then, positive specimens underwent nested-PCR to amplify the major outer membrane protein 1 (ompl) gene. The amplicons of ompl gene were digested by restriction endonucleases Alu I plus Hinf I and Cfol . C. trachomatis was differentiated according to the restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) patterns. Results Out of the 598 samples, 83 were positive for plasmid-PCR. The prevalence of chlamydial infection was 13.9% with no significant difference between male and female patients. Nested-PCR based RFLP analysis showed that genotype E amounted to 27.7% (23/83), F 20.5% (17/83), D 13.2%(11/83), G 12.0%(10/83), K 7.2%(6/83), H 4.8%(4/83), I 3.6% (3/83), J 3.6%(3/83)and uncertain types 7.2% (6/83). Visible symptoms were observed less frequently in infections with C. trachomatis genotypes E and F compared with the other genotypes, while low abdominal pain occurred in 80% of infections with type G. Conclusions A certain proportion of out-patients attending STD clinic are infected with various types of C. trachomatis in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The polymorphism of ompl gene may serve as a useful tool in molecular epidemiological studies of C. trachomatis.

Objective:To investigate the feasibility and efficacy of transcystic injection of indocyanine green during laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) surgery in the treatment of patients with gallbladder stones combined with liver cirrhosis. Methods:The clinical data of 96 patients with cirrhosis who underwent LC for gallbladder stones with cholecystitis attacks in the Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery of the Second People′s Hospital of Changzhou City from January 2018 to May 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were diagnosed by clinical history and auxiliary examination before surgery and underwent cholecystectomy according to their groups, which were divided into fluorescence group ( n=49) and white light group ( n=47) according to whether ICG was used or not, where the fluorescence group underwent LC in fluorescence mode after direct intraoperative injection of ICG via gallbladder. The two groups were compared in terms of identification time of the three tubes, operation time, intraoperative bleeding, intraoperative injury, intraoperative open abdomen and blood transfusion, postoperative drainage time, postoperative hospitalization time, postoperative complications and changes in infection and liver function indexes before and after surgery. The measurement data obeying normal distribution were expressed as mean±standard deviation( ± s), and independent sample t-test was used for comparison between groups. The measurement data obeying the skewed distribution were expressed by M( Q1, Q3), and the Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison between groups. Count data were expressed as rates (%), and the chi-square test or Fisher′s exact probability method was used for comparison between groups. Results:The procedure was successfully performed in both groups, and the identification of triple-tube time, operative time, intraoperative bleeding, postoperative drainage time, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative ALT, postoperative GGT, and postoperative TBIL in the fluorescent group were (14.96±1.49) min, (52.14±7.36) min, 5(5, 10) mL, (1.61±0.61) d, (2.37±0.49) d, 31.5(22.0, 44.8) U/L, 38.0(21.0, 91.5) U/L, 18.0(11.5, 22.8) μmol/L, and (29.87±3.37) min, (84.36±13.25) min, 10(10, 20) mL, (2.70±0.69) d, (3.15±0.42) d, 45.0(28.0, 64.8) U/L, 73.0(32.0, 132.0) U/L, 23.0(16.1, 29.3) μmol/L in the white light group and the differences were statistically significant compared with the two groups( P<0.05). In the fluorescence group, there was no intraoperative injury and no cases of intraoperative opening, and there were 2 cases of postoperative complications, while in the white light group, there were 2 cases of intraoperative injury, 1 case of intraoperative opening, and 5 cases of postoperative complications, and there were no cases of blood transfusion in both groups. There was no statistically significant difference between the fluorescence group and the white light group when comparing the preoperative laboratory indexes of both groups ( P>0.05). When comparing the first postoperative white blood cell count, C-reactive protein, aspartate aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase indexes in the fluorescence group and the white light group, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusion:When LC is performed in patients with symptomatic gallbladder stones combined with cirrhosis, intraoperative injection of indocyanine green via the gallbladder to visualize the gallbladder and bile duct structures is simple and easy to perform, and the safe and efficient dissection of extrahepatic bile ducts and gallbladder bed speeds up the procedure while reducing postoperative trauma.
