1.Studying progression in gene p73
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(01):-
p73, a first p53 relative, has recently been identified as a new structural and functional homologue of the transcription factor p53. However, it is unclear whether this protein functions as a tumor suppressor. p73L, a second human p53-related gene, which shows strong amino-acid similarity to p73. In this article, we shall discuss the cloning, location, expression and functions of these two new candidate tumor suppressor genes and look forward to the future study.

Unilateral enlargement of the vestibular aqueduct (EVA)is a relatively rare disease. Bilateral EVA was found to be more common than unilateral EVA. There are significant differences in clinical features and molecular etiology between unilateral EVA and bilateral one. This article reviewed related researches of the unilateral EVA in clinical characteristics, molecular etiology and pathogenic mechanism.

Objective To investigate the morphologic changes and hemodynamic parameters of the common carotid artery in obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)in a porcine model using ultrasound and color Doppler. Methods A total of 12 pigs were randomly divided into model group and control group(n=6 for each). All pigs were fed under the same conditions with exception of th ose in the model group which were kept in a hypobaric chamber for experiments. The parameters of systolic velocity(S)and diastolic velocity(D),resistant index(RI)and S/D in Doppler as well as maximum IMT(intima-media thickness)with two-dimensional ultrasound were obtained in the carotid artery of all animals were determined, and the latter was confirmed by animal dissection when the symptoms of OSAHS appeared in the model group. Results The diameter of the lumen of the common carotid artery in model group(3.18?0.17)was smaller than that of control group(3.47?0.15,P

Objective To investigate the relationship between the level of mindfulness and the A-type behavior characteristics of the nursing college students. Methods 172 nursing college students were investigated by the scale of TABP and FFMQ.The results were analyzed. Results In the 172 nursing college students, there were 112 nursing college students belonging to type B behavior pattern, accounted for 65.1%,and 60 nursing college students belonging to type A behavior pattern, accounted for 34.9%.The correlation between the score of TABP and the observation items and describing items were positive statistically significant, and was negatively correlated with awareness items and non-judge items statistically. Conclusions The students with different behavior characteristics were different in their mindfulness level. In order to improve nursing college students' mindfulness level and their mental health, the educators should take intervention based on their behavior characteristics timely.

Objective To observe the effects of hepatic artery reconstruction in rat with orthotopic liver transplantation(OLT)on ultrastructure changes of intrahepatic biliary epithelial cells after ischemia reperfusion iniury and postoperative biliary complications. Methods Male SD rats were divided into sham operation group (SO),OLT with hepatic artery reconstruction group(HA)and OLT without hepatic artery reconstruction group (NA).The liver tissue samples were collected at 0.5,3,6,12,24,36,48 hours after ischemia reperfusion in both HA grouD and NA group. The uhrastructure of intrahepatic biliary epithelial cells was observed by transmission electron microscope, and the morphometric analysis by the computer image analysis system. The postoperative biliary complications were also observed. Results In HA group and NA group, the injury of intrahepatic biliary epithelial cells aggravated gradually along with the reperfusion. The uhrastructure changes, such as enlarged mitochondria, blurred or disappeared cristae and decreased number of microvilli, were most significant at 24 hours and then recovered gradually. The mitochondrial average area and average perimeter were increased and the mitochondrial numerical densitv was decreased gradually along with the reperfusion. At 24,36,48 hours, the mitochondrial average area and average perimeter in NA group were significantly greater than those in HA group(t=-3.566,-7.780,-4.730,-4.610,-2.599,-5.730,P<0.05).The average numerial density of mitochondia in NA group was significantly less than that in HA group at 36,48 hours(t=-4.619,4.000,P<0.05).The incidence rate of biliary complications in HA group is significantly lower than that in NA group(x2=4.286,P<0.05).Conclusions Hepatic artery reconstruction in rat with OLT has an protective effect on the uhrastructure of intrahepatic biliary epithelial cells after ischemia reperfusion. It is beneficial to the recovery of intrahepatic bile duct epithelial cells and can reduce the incidence rate of biliary complications.

AIM: To investigate the tumorigenicity of lung cancer by learning the accumulation of p53 and the exposure of cytokeratin 18 neo-epitope(CK-18neo) related to the clinicopathological parameters in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC). METHODS: To detect the monoclonal antibodies of p53 and M30 CytoDEATH(specific antibody for CK-18neo) in 62 cases of NSCLC (included 29 cases of squamous cell carcinoma and 33 cases of adenocarcinoma) and 10 cases of control group by adopting immunohistochemistry assay (LSAB). Moreover, the immunoreactivity of p53 was quantitatively evaluated with positive unit (PU). RESULTS: (1) p53 immunoreactivity was positive in 15 of 29 squamous cell carcinoma (51.72%), 15 of 33 adenocarcinoma (45.45%), 30 of 62 NSCLC (48.39%). In 10 control cases was negative. There were significant differences between these groups (P<0.01). (2)In 62 cases of NSCLC, AI% of M30 is 1.10%, and in 29 cases of squamous cell carcinoma is 0.95%, and in 33 cases of adenocarcinoma is 1.24%. In 10 control cases, the AI% is 1.06%. There is not significant difference among these groups . (3) According to the results of Pearson's correlation analysis, we found positive linear correlation between the immunoreactivity of p53(-/+), p53(5 degrees)and p53(PU)(P<0.01). CONCLUSION: Our results suggested that the pathogenesis of NSCLC might be related to the mutation of gene p53 and cell excessive proliferation and insufficient apoptosis.

Objective To investigate the correlated factors of pulmonary metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC),so as to provide theoretical evidences for the prevention and treatment. Methods The clinical data of 862 patients with HCC who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from January 2008 to March 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 107 patients with pulmonary metastasis.Factors including serum alpha fetoprotein (AFP) level, serum gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) level, hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, presence and treatment of intrahepatic tumor were analyzed to screen out relevant factors of pulmonary infection of HCC.Univariate and multivariate COX regression model analysis were performed for data analysis. Results The results of univariate analysis showed that high level of AFP (≥400 μg/L),ultra-high level of GGT (≥ 150 U/L),presence of HBV infection, the number of intrahepatic tumors ≥2,no radical resection (or radiofrequency ablation) for intrahepatic tumors, combining with tumor thrombi in the vessels, lymph node metastasis were risk factors of pulmonary metastasis of HCC (RR =1.986,3.653,0.365,3.675,0.252,0.379,0.352,P < 0.05).The results of multivariate analysis showed that high level of AFP (≥400 μg/L),HBV infection, the number of intrahepatic tumors ≥2,no radical resection (or radiofrequency ablation) for intrahepatic tumors, combining with tumor thrombi in the vessels were risk factors of pulmonary metastasis of HCC (RR =2.391,3.462,3.425,3.396,2.418,0.638,P < 0.05).Conclusions AFP ≥400 μg/L,HBV infection, the number of intrahepatic tumors ≥ 2,no radical resection (or radiofrequency ablation),tumor thrombi in the vessels and lymph node metastasis are risk factors of pulmonary metastasis of HCC.Anti-hepatitis virus treatment and early treatment are helpful for the prevention and treatment.
