Objective To evaluate the imaging technique of magnetic resonance tomographic angiography (MRTA) in the investigation of etiology of hemifacial spasm (HFS). Methods Multiplane MRTA imaging of facial nerve of both sides was performed in all 121 HFS patients. Among them, 23 HFS patients received MVD subsequently. Results Among the 121 HFS patients, 119 patients had one side hemifacial spasm and 2 patients had double side hemifacial spasm, among them, neurovascular compression was found in the root entry zone (REZ) of facial nerve in 116 cases by MRTA,and the sensitivity was 94 3%;among the 119 cases which had no HFS,no neurovascular compression was found in the REZ of facial nerve in 112 cases by MRTA,and the specificity was 94 1%. Among 23 patients who received one side MVD, 21 patients had results that agreed with the multiplanar MRTA views. Conclusion Multiplanar MRTA was considered to be a very useful imaging technique for the study of etiology of HFS, and it also seemed to be a very important preoperative examination for MVD.

20%),but turning negative with 3 of them after 3 weeks. All the transplanted kidneys revealed different degrees of atrophy but 4 of them obtained chances of successful retransplantation 3-6 months after the procedure,3 of them with follow up of 1-3 years were being well. Conclusions Renal arterial embolization is a safe, efficient measure for treating post-transplanted renal failure with obvious decrease of correlative clinical symptoms and providing conditions for renal retransplantation.

The article of interventional therapy of hepatocellular carcinoma were reviewed including the method, basic research and the questions remained to be solved. All interventional therapies consisted of transcatheter arterial chemoembolism, transcatheter arterial heat infusion, transcatheter arterial heat embolism,Chinese medicinal herb, percutaneous ethanol injection, radiofrequencey ablation, percutaneous microwave coagulation and cryosurgery had their insufficiencies. The combined therapy, such as double chemoembolism,TACE combined with ablation,TACE combined with gene therapy could further promote the therapeutic effect. The research of the biological behavior of the residue after TACE was just at the beginning with problems still to be acknowledged. With the emerging of anti-oncogene therapy(P 53)and oncolytic virus therapy represented the gene therapy, together with anti-angiogenesis therapy, now the interventional therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma steps in a new stage. The treatment of during and perioperative periods possesses a great correlative influence with the therapeutic effect and complications and should be further standardized.

Objective To study the construction of tissue engineering fat filler and the survival of fat particles. Methods Stromal vascular fraction (SVF) was derived from inguinal subcutaneous fat of rabbits, mixed with autologus mature fat particles and with or without neuropeptide Y to construct PLGA composite tissue. The complex was subcutaneously transplantef into back sites of the rabbits.Based on the different combination five groups were divided:Group A:PLGA + mature fat particles without NPY;Group B:PLGA + mature fat particles + NPY;Group C:PLGA + complex of SVF with mature fat particles without NPY;Group D:PLGA + complex of SVF with mature fat particles + NPY;Group E:Complex of SVF with mature fat particles + small ball with NPY.Diffenrence of virous constructive ways and fat particle survival was evaluated by general observation, histological staining, fluorescence tracing at two weeks, one month and three month after operation. Results Group D was superior to groups A,B,C and E in survival volume, graft texture and vascularization at one mouth and three mouths. The fat average srvival rate was 57.5±2.5%.Fat cell grew well, and precursor cells proliferated and differentiated actively. Conclusions High quality tissue engineering materials are successfully established with SVF-mature fat particle complex,PLGA and NPY,which could obviously improve fat particle transplantation.

Objective: To prepare ibuprofen sustained-release dropping pills, to evaluate the accumulative release percentage in vitro and to study the drug state in the base. Methods: With the drug content, mass ratio of water-soluble base to insoluble base and mass ratio of stearic acid to glyceryl monostearate as the investigation factors, and the comprehensive score of 2-hour and 10-hour cumulative dissolution rate as the evaluation index, a Box-Behnken response-surface method was used to screen the optimal formula of ibuprofen sustained-release dropping pills. The drug state in the matrix was examined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).Results: The optimal formula of ibuprofen sustained-release dropping pills was as follows: the drug content of 10%, water-soluble and insoluble matrix ratio of 4∶1, and stearic acid and glyceryl monostearate ratio of 3∶1.The maximum cumulative dissolution rate of ibuprofen sustained-release dropping pills was 78.85%.The DSC analysis showed that the drug crystallization peak disappeared in the sustained-release dropping pills, and formed a solid dispersion. Conclusion: The preparation has good sustained-release effect, and the preparation process is simple.

Objective To assess the value and safety of SonoVue in ultrasonic diagnosis of abdominal diseases. Methods A total of 204 patients (149 male, 55 female) with abdominal examination of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) with SonoVue from August 2007 to February 2009 were reviewed. Results Definitive diagnosis were obtained 215 times in 204 patients (233 times) with abdominal CEUS. The diagnostic accuracy of CEUS was 92.27%, significant higher than that of conventional ultrasonography (62.23%). Anaphylactic shock happened 1 time (0.43%) in 1 patient. Conclusion CEUS with SonoVue can provide a high diagnostic accuracy with relatively safety of the possibility of serious adverse event.

AIM: To investigate the effects of simvastatin on myocardial fibrosis and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) in renovascular hypertensive rats. METHODS: The experimental rats were randomly divided into three groups, such as sham operation group rats, hyperpiesia rats and hyperpiesia rats treated with simvastatin (5 mg㎏kg -1 ?d -1 ). Systolic blood pressure (SBP) was measured and collagen concentration (Coll) was also detected in terms of hydroxyproline concentration. VanGieson and immunohistochemistry staining combined with computed morphometry were used to evaluate the total collagen volume fraction (CVF) and CTGF expression in left ventricular tissue. RESULTS: Compared with sham operation group rats, the SBP,CVF, Coll and CTGF expression increased markedly in hyperpiesia rats (P

Chinese Journal of Neuroanatomy 2000;16(3):247-250
To investigate effects of cultured astrocytes from Sprague Dawley rat cerebral cortex on the development of PC12 cellsderived from rat pheochromocytoma, PC12 cells were cocultured with astrocyte according to different astrocytes/neurons ratio(50:1~1:1) , or with serum-free conditioned medium of astrocytes(ACM). The vitality of PC12 cells was measured by sensi-tive MTT method and their morphologic features were observed by Olympus light microscope. The results showed: (1) WhenPC12 cells were cultured with ACM, compared with the control group, the vitality of PC12 cells was increased significantly (0.255+0. 012 vs 0. 510±0. 036, P<0. 001) and the morphological changes were not obvious in the experimental group. (2) WhenPC12 cells were cocultured with astrocyte in the ratio of 30: 1~1: 1, not only was the vitality of PC12 cells enhanced, but alsothe neurite-outgrowth of PC12 was observed. (3) When PC12 cells were cocuhured with astrocyte in proportion of 50: 10~40 : 1, the vitality of PC12 cells was also enhanced, but the neurite-outgrowth of PC12 was not found. This study suggested en-hancement of PC12 cell-vitality was mediated by soluble factors produced by astrocytes, while activity of the neurite-promotingwas associated with cell-cell contact and with the ratio of two cells.
