Objective To detect AmpC ?-lactamases from clinical isolates of escherichia coli and klebsoella pneumoniae in our hospital.Methods Using confirmatory test recommended by the NCCLS to detect ESBLs producing escherichia coli and klebsoella pneumoniae.Adopting three dimensional extract test and three dimensional depression test to detect AmpC ?-lactamases.Results Among 236 escherichia coli strains collected,104 were ESBLs producing strains.Among 135 klebsoella pneumoniae strains collected,29 were ESBLs producing strains.Among 106 cefoxitin-resistant strains,AmpC ?-lactamases producing strains were found in 3 strains.Conclusion ESBLs are the most important resistant mechanisms of the two bacteria isolates in our hospital.The strains cefoxitin-resistant may result from the loss of the membrane porin.

The protective effect of TGPs on acute liver damage induced by carbon tetrachloride ( CCl4 ) was investigated in mice . TGPs ( 40 or 80mg/kg?d ? 3d, ip ) reduced the elevation of plasma or serume gl- utamic pyruvic transaminase ( GPT ) and plasma lactate dehydroge-nase ( LDH ) in CCl4-intoxicated mice, but if had no significant influence on the elevation of plasma glutamic oxalacetic transaminase ( GOT).TGPs (40mg/kg?d ? 3d, ip ) showed a protective effect on the histopathologic changes of liver injury induced by CCl4. The results suggest that TGPs may a protect against hepatic damage.

Medical Solace Words are a kind of working language used by medical staff who tend to offer solace and encouragement to patients on purpose of medical treatment,and it is a kind of oral language frequently applied by medical staff in the new medical mode.Medical solace aims at decreasing and eliminating patients' negative emotions and improving their mood so as to establish a harmonious relationship between doctors and patients,and make the treatment smooth as well.This article analyzes medical solace words from the perspective of linguistic pragmatics,revealing that for the concealment and complexity of the expressing context for medical words,and the unique programmatic rules of medical language,medical staff should pay much attention to the language hierarchy and grasp the explanatory principle and the guiding principle of medical solace language to achieve the targeted effects of medical solace.

A postulated suppression of T lymphocyte function by clonidine (an adrenogic receptor agonist) was explored by utilizing mitogen induced lymphocyte transformation of mouse spleen cells in vitro. Added at the onset of the culture or 24h later, clonidine (10-(?)-10-8 M ) did not suppress T lymphocyte transformation induced by ConA or PHA. It implies that there is a difference in the sensitivity for clonidine between T and B lymphocyte, as clonidine has been suggested to suppress the SRBC induced primary immune response of mouse spleen cells in a dose dependent manner.

Total glucosides of paeony root ( TGPs ) ( 5 ~40mg/kg, ip ) had a dose-related hypothermal effect in mice and rats, which was related to the environment temperature. But TGPs ( 40mg/kg, ip or iv ) showed no significant hypothermal effect in guinea-pigs or rabbits. TGPs ( 2, 4 mg/kg, icv ) had a potential hypothermal effect in rats. Chlopheniramine had antagonist effect on hypothermal effect of TGPs in mice and rats.

Growth factor starts a new epoch of the research and application of wound healing, and the effect of the combination of Chinese tradition medicine and biomedicine in wound healing is still in the discussion.OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect in promoting wound healing of rats with bletilla colloid, a Chinese herbal medicine, as a carrier of exogenous high molecular weight nerve growth factor (HMW-NGF).DESIGN: The single sample observation was adopted in the identification of activities of HMW-NGF; The randomized control experiment with animal as subjects was adopted in the observation of the effect of the HMW-NGF mixed with the bletilla colloid as a carrier in promoting wound healing.SETTING: Department of Orthopaedics, Shenzhen Buji People's Hospital,and Department of Orthopaedics, Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology.MATERIALS: Forty SD rats aged 90-120 days of either gender were employed, with the body mass of 220-280 g; The freeze dried preparation of cattle seminal fluid with HMW-NGF with 1mg each.METHODS: From September 2001 to December 2004, the experiment was carried out in the Department of Orthopaedics in Shenzhen Buji People's Hospital and Central Laboratory of Department of Orthopaedics in Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technolcolloid, HMW-NGF, HMW-NGF+ bletilla colloid were added into the serum-free medium (SFM), and the influences of them on the dorsal root lected and divided into 4 groups with 10 rats in each group. The rats of normal control group had no medicine on the wound. In the bletilla colloid group, the HMW-NGF group and the HMW-NGF+bletilla colloid group, incision size 2 cm was made at the back of each rat, and bletilla colloid,HMW-NGF, HMW-NGF+ bletilla colloid were applied respectively on the wound, once per day. The wound area was measured at day 3 and 10 after treatment, and the wound area was calculated by the image analysator. The observation of cut sheets 10 days after treatment: The granulation tissue in the HMW-NGF group and the HMW-NGF+ bletilla colloid group was compacter and had more micrangium as compared with the normal control group and the bletilla colloid group.CONCLUSION: HMW-NGF+ bletilla colloid has significant effect on promoting the healing of the wound at the earlier and later period, and the effect is better than that of bletilla colloid or HMW-NGF.

NG-nitro-D-arginine (D-NNA) produced pressor responses in rats by acting via chiral inversion intoNG-nitro-L-arginine (L-NNA), an inhibitor of nitro oxide synthase. The present investigation aimed to study the roleof the D-amino acid oxidase (DAAO) in chiral inversion of D-NNA and the relationship between DAAO activitieson various D-amino acids and their inversion rate. Benzoate (400 mg/kg) or creatinine (400 mg/kg), two inhibitorsof DAAO, blocked D-NNA-induced pressor responses in rats. Furthermore, the addition of the pure DAAOsignificantly potentiates L-NNA production rate in kidney homogenates by approximately 2-folds. The in vivo andin vitro results suggested that DAAO plays an essential role in the pressor responses elicited by D-NNA.Moreover, crude DAAO solution from the kidney showed marked selection (the maximal ratio of Kcat/Km wasnearly 15 times) on different D-amino acids that exhibited similar chiral inversion rate in vivo, suggesting that otherenzymes, such as transaminase, are also required for the entire process of D-NNA chiral inversion.

Objective　To investigate the role of splenomegaly and splenic macrophage(MΦ)in the occurrence of the hypersplenism of portal hypertension(PHT).Methods　The changes of the quantity of ACP in MΦ,the ulstrastructure of MΦ and the quantity of the blood cells phagocytized and destructed by MΦ in the spleen of PHT by the methods of immunohistochemistry and transmission electron microscope were observed and compared with the normal spleen.The correlation of spleen index,the quantity of ACP in MΦ and the peripheral blood cells counts were also studied.Results　Comparing with the normal spleen,the quantity of ACP in MΦ was increased,the surface folopodia of MΦ was increased and lengthened and the quantity of lysosome in MΦ and the quantity of erythrocytes and platelets phagocytized by MΦ were increased.Spleen index and the quantity of ACP in MΦ were negatively correlated with the peripheral blood cells counts,spleen index was positively correlated with the quantity of ACP in MΦ.Conclusion　The splenomegaly and splenic MΦ could play a vital role on the occurrence of the hypersplenism of PHT.
