Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) is an inportant regulatory factor in adapting to hypoxia in the hypoxic environment for cells.The changes of the numbers of HIF-1 in cells may regulate hypoxia-responsive gene transcription.HIF-1 may inhibit neuronal apoptosis and thus play a ncuroptotective role,and may also show a neurotoxic effect by inducing neuronal apoptosis.

Objective To compare the effectiveness of the three operation mode in treatment of ovarian cyst. Methods According to the digital table,138 patients with ovarian cyst were divided into three groups,the group A (n=46 cases)were operated through open operation,group B (n =46 cases)were operated through transvaginal operation,group C(n=46 cases)were operated through laparoscopic operation.The three groups were observed the situation of operation (operation time,bleeding volume,the first exhaust time,hospitalizationtime ),complications (infection,hemorrhage,perimenopausal changes ),postoperative follow -up for 1 years.The recurrence rate was observed.Results Group A of 46 patients were successfully completed surgery,B,C groups of 1 patients was con-versed to laparotomy due to severe adhesion.B,C groups in the operation time,amount of bleeding during the opera-tion,the time of hospitalization were significantly less than that of group A (t=4.306,5.172,3.012,3.926,3.776, 2.168,P<0.05,P<0.01).B group was significantly less than those of A,C group in the first exhaust time (t=3.014,2.446,all P<0.05).In the operation time of group B was obviously less than that of group C (t=2.748,P<0.05).A,B,C three groups of postoperative complication rates were 39.1%,11.1%,15.6% respectively;the incidence of complications of B,C groups was lower than that in A group (χ2 =9.82,8.64,all P<0.01 ).After 1years follow-up,the recurrence rate in group B was significantly higher than that of A and C groups (χ2 =6.72, 6.72,all P<0.01).Conclusion Treatment of ovarian cyst vaginal surgery and laparoscopic surgery wound is small, but the person that weigh should be performed open adhesion treatment,individualized treatment.

Objective To discuss CT appearances and diagnosistic value of invasive thymoma.Methods CT findings in 13 cases of invasive thymoma proved by surgery and pathology were retrospectively analysed. Results In 13 cases, invasive thymomas all showed as solf tissue masses in anterier mediastinum on CT, of them, 10 cases were of heterogeneous density and irregular invasion to adjacent organs which the main CT findings were pleural implants in 3, cardiovascular involvement in 9 and abdominal invasion in 1 were found in 11 cases. Conclusion Conventional CT scan plays an important role in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of invasive thymoma.

Objective To investigate the relationship between blood biochemical indicators levels (glycosylated hemoglobin and serum bilirubin) and atherosclerosis in elderly type 2 diabetic.Methods Totally 100 type 2 diabetic patients aged 62-85 years were divided into type 2 diabetes mellitus with carotid atherosclerosis group (T2DM-AS group,n=55) and type 2 diabetes mellitus group (T2DM group,n=45).Blood biochemical indicators levels (glycosylated hemoglobin and serum bilirubin) were determined and compared between the patients and the healthy controls (n=60)Results Serum levels of total cholesterol,triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein and Lp(a) were elevated in T2DM-AS group as compared with T2DM group [(5.86 ± 0.28) mmol/L vs.(4.63 ±0.32) mmol/L,(2.02±0.43) mmol/L) vs.(1.56±0.39) mmol/L,(3.74±0.76) mmol/L vs.(3.03±0.81) mmol/Land (297.3±102.2) mmol/Lvs.(203.5±110.4) mmol/L,t=20.91,5.54,4.51 and 4.40,all P＜0.05].Glycosylated hemoglobin level was higher in T2DM-AS and T2DM groups than in control group [(9.58 ± 0.47) mmol/L,(7.21 ± 0.66) mmol/L vs.(5.31 ± 0.54)mmol/L,both P＜0.05].There was a significant difference in glycosylated hemoglobin level between T2DM-AS group and T2DM group [(9.58 ± 0.47) mmol/L vs.(7.21 ± 0.66) mmol/L,t=20.9,P＜0.05].Serum bilirubin level was lower in T2DM AS group than in T2DM and control groups [(8.02±1.23)μmol/L vs.(13.72±1.64)μmol/L,(19.66±1.41)μmol/L; t=19.8,47.0,both P ＜0.05].Conclusions Glycosylated hemoglobin and serum bilirubin may promote atherosclerosis in elderly type 2 diabetic.The control of glycosylated hemoglobin and blood lipids levels may help to reduce atherosclerosis in elderly type 2 diabetic patients,which has the important clinical significance for the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Objective To systematically study the development and morphological changes of Taenia solium cysticerci in the period from the appearance to maturation. Methods Pigs were orally infected with T.solium eggs. Autopsies were made periodically to get tissue specimens and examine the distribution of cysticerci. Cysticerci were excised, pressed between two microscopic slides for microscopical observation. Sections were also made for histological study. Results Cysticerci distributed mainly in muscles, secondly in brain, liver, lung and kidney. The size of cysticerci was highly variable at different parts or even in the same part of the same host. The early stage cysticercus was observed on the 19th day without suckers and hooklets on the scolex region, and was only found in skeletal muscles. Histological examination revealed that early development of the scolex became obvious. No cysticerci were found in other tissues. At 30 d, the cysticerci possessed hooklets and brood suckers. With a longer duration of infection, the diameter of suckers and length of hooklets both increased. Larger suckers and more folds on scolex appeared 60 d later. Morphologically, cysticerci after 60 d were similar to those found at 60 d. Degenerated cysticerci were found at every stage. Conclusion Cysticerci appear in about 19 days after the pig was infected with eggs of T.solium and the duration needed for maturation is about 60 d.

Objective To discuss the microsurgery approaches and the prevention and treatment of complication about the tumors in cerebellopontine angle.Methods The 53 cases with cerebellopontine angle brain tumor were retrospectively analyzed.Results In all 53 patients,the tumor of 23 cases were full-resected,29 cases' tumor were resected more then 3/4,only one cases' tumor was partly treated.Following operation,one case died,5 cases had hearing decreasing,3 cases had severely facial nerve weakness and non hearing,10 cases had facial nerve anaesthesia,futhermore there was one case with long-period coma because of the injury of brain stem.Conclusion The important factors that decrease the complications of cerebellopontine angle tumor surgery include surgery approachs,operating experience and mechanism of complication.

Objective To explore the effect of operative treatment of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage.Methods 386 cases with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage were retrospectively analysed,hematoma was removed through big bone flap and small skull window,or drainage and urokinase infusion with small hole puncture.Results 39 cases died(10.1%),according to ADI grade system:Ⅰ 106 cases(27.4%),Ⅱ 136 cases(35.2%),Ⅲ 50 cases(13%),Ⅳ 43 cases(11.1%),Ⅴ 12 cases(3.2%).Conclusion To increase the cure rate and life quality,and obtain a lower mortality,it is a key to do surgical operation such as microsurgery or drainage and urokinase infusion.
