Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(01):-
Glycyrrhetic acid is a hydrolytic product of .glycyrrhizin which comes from Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. This study showed that its sodium salt, sodium glycyrrhetinate ( SGA, 28mg/kg ip ) inhibited egg white or yeast-induced edema of rat hind paws; Meanwhile, SGA decreased prostaglandin E2 in inflammatory fluid. Malonyldialdehyde in mouse swelling paws stimulated by egg white was decreased by SGA and increased by arachidonic acid. The inhibitory action of SGA on production of malonyldialdehyde c.ould be entirely abolished by arachidonic acid, suggesting that phospholipase A2 bo inhibited by SGA. Also, SGA antagonized the contracting effect of inflammatory mediators such as histamine ( IC50 = 12 ,7mg/ L), 5 -hydroxytrypataminG (IC50=16.1 mg/L ) and SRS-A ( IC5O = 17.0mg/L)on isolated guinea-pig ileum. Because SGA inhibited cro-ton oil-induced ear-swelling of adrenalectomized mice, its anti-inflammatory action has no relationship with hypophysial-adrenocortial axis.

An analysis of the existing incentives mechanism of performance appraisal for community health service centers, and insight into the challenges for linking the post performance appraisal in community health service centers with incentive measures. It is pointed out the administrators should take a variety of measures including material incentive, target incentive, knowledge incentive, and emotional incentive among others. In addition, such measures should be used sophistically, flexibly and reasonably, while timing of incentives should meet the human resource needs of the institution, notably a combination of positive incentive with negative ones,, mostly the former incentive.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2009;25(2):110-113
A brief description of performance appraisal as used in the healthcare sector, and an analysis of problems existing in performance appraisal for posts in community heahhcare organizations in the country. The paper proposes a job-analysis based performance appraisal for such posts, featuring the appraisal model of "performance + skills + attitude+ work intensity". On the basis of work analysis, a job description should be worked out for such healthcare workers as doctors, nurses and prevention workers in community healthcare organizations, aided by a targeted job-based performance appraisal system. These efforts can effectively enhance the job performance in such organizations, catering to the healthcare needs of community residents.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015;(10):493-498
Objective:To explore the expression of aquaporin1 (AQP1) in human glioma tissues and its relationship with the clini-copathological parameters and prognosis of this tumor. This study also observed the function of AQP1 in the proliferation and invasion of LN229 glioblastoma cells. Methods:The expression of AQP1 in 135 cases of glioma was detected by immunohistochemical meth-od, and the correlation between AQP1 and pathological features of glioma was analyzed. The relationship of AQP1 with survival was al-so investigated using 103 specimens with complete clinical data. AQP1 was successfully transfected into LN229 cells with lentiviral vector, and the expression of AQP1 protein was tested by Western blot. Cell proliferation was detected by using methyl thiazolyl tetrazo-lium assay, whereas cell invasion was determined by Transwell assay. Results:The expression of AQP1 was positively correlated with pathological grading. High AQP1 expression was associated with poor prognosis (P<0.05). Moreover, the overexpression of AQP1 can significantly increase the proliferation and invasion of LN229 cells (P<0.05). Conclusion:AQP1 is closely associated with the progres-sion of glioma. Upregulation of the AQP1 expression promoted the proliferation and metastasis of glioma cells. These findings indicat-ed that AQP1 can function as a therapeutic target for glioma in future research.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2014;(5):341-344
Aquaporin 1 (AQP1) is a specific protein that transports water molecules through the cell membrane. AQP1 mainly ex-presses in the choroid plexus epithelial cells of the central nervous system and participates in the formation of cerebrospinal fluid. In gli-omas, AQP1 expresses in neoplastic astrocytes and vascular endothelial cells. AQP1 expression is increased in parallel with histological grade in gliomas. AQP1 expression in gliosarcoma cell line is induced by dexamethasone, platelet-derived growth factor, sodium chlo-ride, hypoxia, D-glucose, and fructose. AQP1 mRNA expression is upregulated with increasing dosage. Through the expression of AQP1 in gliomas and the existing research on its function, we suggest that AQP1 may participate in tumor angiogenesis and tumor-relat-ed edema. AQP1 is closely associated with glioma cell migration. The function of AQP1 and its mechanism has been elucidated. Thus, this protein can be used as a new therapeutic target to inhibit the metastasis and recurrence of gliomas.

Objective To study the effect of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) on expressions of K8 and K18 in duct epithelial cells of salivary gland. Methods The expressions of immediate early antigen of HCMV, K8 and K18 were detected by immunohistochemistry staining in tissues embedded in paraffin of parotid cytomegalic inclusion disease(PCID). Results Cytomegly bearing inclusion appeared in duct epithelium of PCID. DDG9/CCH2 antigen of HCMV was expressed in cytomegly bearing inclusion. K8 was negative in these cytomegly while K18 was intensively positive. Conclusion It is suggested that breaking down of K8 be induced in parotid duct epithelial cells infected by HCMV and that up-regulation of K18 may be a reactive change. Keratin network in simple epithelium functions to impart mechanical integrity to cells.

Objective To detect the protective mechanism of trehalose in tracheal cryopreservation. Methods Inbred male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were sacrificed with intraperitoneal injection of ketamine(150mg?kg -1).The tracheas were removed and immersed immediately in the freezing medium of low potassium dextran (LPD) solution only(Group Ⅰ) ,containing with 10% dimethylsulfoxide(DMSO)(Group Ⅱ), containing with 0.15mol?L -1 trehalose (Group Ⅲ),and containing with 10% DMSO and 0.15mol?L -1 trehalose (Group Ⅳ) respectively. A sterile plastic tube containing a 1-cm-long trachea was filled with the freezing medium, sealed, and frozen to -80℃ at rate of -1℃ per minute in a programmable freezer. Then the tube was stored in liquid nitrogen(-196℃) for 20 days. Then the specimen was thawed in a 37℃ water bath and rinsed with physiologic saline solution 10 times.Histologic changes before cryopreservation and after thawing were examined in each group. After the specimens were embedded in paraffin,5-(m-thick sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin. The epithelium and cartilage was assessed. We also observed Bcl-2 and Bax gene expression by immunohistochemistry. At last, some tracheas(SD) after cryopreservation were thawed and transplanted into the abdominal cavity of Wistar rats. The transplanted tracheas were retrieved and assessed histologically. Results Microscopic findings of the tracheas in Group Ⅲ and Group Ⅳ showed their structure were intact and Bax gene expression was lower in cartilage after cryopreservation(20d) compared with other groups, especially in Group Ⅳ.The tracheas in Group Ⅲ and Group Ⅳ grew well after they were transplanted into cavity of Wistar rats heterotopically, too. There were no significant differences among 4 groups in Bcl-2 gene expression. Conclusion In tracheal cryopreservation the trehalose can protect the trachea by protecting the tracheal cartilage. It is one of the protective mechanism that the trehalose inhibit the Bax gene expression of cartilage cells. The concomitant use of trehalose and DMSO has a synergistic effect.
