To elucidate the effects of Zearalenone(ZEA) on proliferation and cell cycle of cultured thymic epithelial cells in mice,trypan blue staining and flow cytometric analysis were performed.At the concentrations from 1 to 25 mg/L,ZEA displayed a significant inhibitory action to proliferation of thymic epithelial cells in its dose-and timedependent manner.Higher doses(10-25 rag/L)ZEA could induce a profound increase in G2/M phase with arrest of thymic epithelial cells in the G2/M phase in a dose-dependent manner.In conclusion,ZEA could be assumed that there were toxic effects on the thymie epithelial cells of mice in vitro.

AIM: To detect the protein expression of TIMP3 and RUNX3 in bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMCs) from acute leukemia (AL) patients and to investigate the relationship between the methylation status of genes and their expressional levels. METHODS: Protein expression of TIMP3 and RUNX3 in 50 samples of BMMCs and 10 samples of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from healthy volunteers was detected by Western blotting. The prognostic factors related to AL and data from methylation specific polymerase chain reaction were also analyzed. RESULTS: The expression level of RUNX3 with methylation was less than that without methylation in BMMCs from AL patients. The complete remission (CR) rate was related to RUNX3 expression and blasts in bone marrow (BM). BMMCs from patients with silencing of RUNX3 and higher blasts in BM had a lower CR rate. CONCLUSION: Absence of RUNX3 protein expression resulting from methylation of RUNX3 promoter probably plays a role in the pathogenesis of AL and is of value in prognosis. No relationship between methylation of TIMP3 promoter and the pathogenesis of AL is observed.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the correlation of polysomnography parameters and CT measurements in upper airway of mild and severe obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) patients before and after uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP). METHOD: Having PSG detection and spiral computed tomograph scan for 30 mild and severe OSAHS patients both before and after UPPP operation, compare the morphology change of upper airway on CT measurements, use pearson correlation analysis to analysis the correlation between the minimum cross-sectional area, left and right diameter, anteroposterior diameter in upper airway and apnea hypopnea index (AHI). RESULT: The difference of the minimum cross-sectional area, left and right diameter, anteroposterior diameter in upper airway before and after UPPP operation was significant. The minimum cross-sectional area, left and right diameter was negatively correlated with AHI; Left and right diameter was not correlated with AHI. CONCLUSION The minimum cross-sectional area, left and right diameter, anteroposterior diameter after operation is bigger than before operation. The minimum cross-sectional area, left and right diameter is negatively correlated with AHI.
