Professor Luo Lingjie is a national famous old doctor of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). He has a set of effective thoughts and methods on health maintenance. The core of the thought is Tiao-Xin, that is to say the emotion regulation is the key to health. The idea and method include three aspects, which include emotion regulation, diet regimen and exercise regimen. The emotion regulation is divided into clean ears, optimistic mood, learn to adapt, maintain psychological balance, and comply with nature. Diet regimen is fell into pay attention to the health food, regular diet, dietotherapy as primary and followed by drug, comply with the four seasons, reasonable to choose the food. There are four principles of exercise regimen, which are the choice of sports according to individual person with the aim to relax the body, move to raise the shape which should be combined with static to repose, proceed in an orderly way and persevere it step by step. The idea and method can also be used for daily personal health and clinical nursing for health maintenance. It is important that the physical and spiritual needs be consistent with long-term practice.

BACKGROUND: Opiate drugs are widely used to control chronic cancer pain, which brings many adverse reactions. Transplantation of sodium alginate-polylysine-alginate microencapsulated bovine adrenal chromaffin cell (BCC) has reported to be used as chronic cancer pain controllers. However, the high price and poor strength of polylysine limited its clinical application. Chitosan is characterized by sufficient resource, low price and good biocompatibility, which is a substitute for polylysine.OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of xenotransplantation of sodium alginate-chitosan-alginate (ACA) microencapsulated BCC on patients with advanced cancer pain.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A retrospective case analysis. All cases were obtained from Department of Oncology, Affiliated Zhongshan Hospital of Dalian University from January 2007 to December 2008.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 10 patients with advanced cancer, including 1 female and 9 males, aged 46-78 years. According to visual algetic mimic scale (VAS), 3 patients suffered moderate pain and 7 cases suffered severe pain.METHODS: Microencapsulation method was applied to encapsulate BCC with ACA membrane and transplant the microencapsulated BCC (5-7)×10~6 into the subarachnoids pace of 10 patients.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The degree of pain release, duration of analgesic effect, as well as adverse reaction.RESULTS: All 10 patients had pain relief rapidly after transplantation in varying degrees. Complete pain relief was shown in 2 cases, medium relief in 1 case, slight relief in 4 cases. Slight irritation of cauda eguina was presented after transplantation, which could disappear within 3-5 days.CONCLUSION: Xenotransplantation of ACA microencapsulated BCC into the spinal subarachnoids pace of patients with cancer pain can produce analgesic effect promptly, significantly, and safely.

The cutaneous arteries of the forearm and their anastomoses in skin and subcutaneous tissue were invetigated on 35 upper limbs.1. The average length of the radial artery is 215.3 mm. This artery can be divided into a covered part and a exposed part. Their lengths are 117.7 mm. and 101.4 mm. respectively. The calibers of the upper end, the intermediate point, and the lower end of the radial artery are 2.7mm, 2.3 mm and 2.4 mm respectively.2. The exposed part of the radial artery sends out more cutaneous branches (9.6 branches) than the covered part (4.2 branches), While their muscular branches are nearly equal in number. The calibers of the cutaneous and muscular branches of the radial artery varies from 0.3~0.5 mm.The fine anastomoses of the cutaneous branches exist between the radial and ulnar arteries and between the radial and ulnar arteries and the dorsal interosseus artery and they form an arterial networks in the subcutaneous tissue of the whole forearm. For blood supply a skin flap may be cut from the whole forearm from the standpoint of morphology.4. The calibers of the radial and cephalic veins at the level of middle part of the forearm are 1.3 mm and 2.8 mm respectively. As the vasular pedicle both the veins should be anastomosed during transplant operation in order to increase the volume of the draining blood.5. The skin flap of forearm blongs to a type of blood supply of arterial trunk network, which have been distinguished with that of some other skin and myocutaneous flaps according to the anatomical characteristics of the radial artery.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: This study aimed to verify the reliability of the alcoholic liver disease (ALD)/nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) index (ANI) for distinguishing ALD in patients with hepatic steatosis from NAFLD, and to investigate whether ANI combined with γ-glutamyl transferase (GGT) would enhance the accuracy of diagnosis in China. METHODS: A hundred thirty-nine cases of fatty liver disease (FLD) were divided into two groups of ALD and NAFLD. The ANI was calculated with an online calculator. All indicators and ANI values were analyzed using statistical methods. RESULTS: ANI was significantly higher in patients with ALD than in those with NAFLD (7.11 ± 5.77 vs. -3.09 ± 3.89, p < 0.001). With a cut-off value of -0.22, the sensitivity, specificity, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) of diagnosed ALD cases was 87.1%, 92.5%, and 0.934 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.879 to 0.969), respectively. The corresponding values for aspartate aminotransferase (AST)/alanine transaminase (ALT), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), and GGT were 75.29%, 72.94%, and 0.826 (95% CI, 0.752 to 0.885); 94.34%, 83.02%, and 0.814 (95% CI, 0.739 to 0.875) and 80.23%, 79.25%, and 0.815 (95% CI, 0.740 to 0.876), respectively. ANI AUROC was significantly higher than the AST/ALT, MCV, or GGT AUROCs (all p < 0.001), moreover, ANI showed better diagnostic performance. The combination of ANI and GGT showed a better AUROC than ANI alone (0.976 vs. 0.934, p = 0.016). The difference in AUROCs between AST/ALT, MCV, and GGT was not statistically significant (all p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: ANI can help distinguish ALD from NAFLD with high accuracy; when ANI was combined with GGT, its effectiveness improved further.

Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 2022;43(3):166-171
Objective:To explore the role and molecular mechanism of DNAJB6 in liver regeneration during partial liver transplantation(PLT).Methods:Dark agouti(DA, donor)and Lewis(recipient)rats were prepared for liver regeneration model of PLT.Rats were divided into before perfusion, after split liver perfusion, after portal vein opening, before abdominal closure and Day 3/7 after surgery groups(n=6 each)for timepoints of PLT.C57 mice were performed for residual liver regeneration model of partial hepatectomy and divided into control, Day 1/2/3/4/5 groups(n=6 each)for timepoints of hepatectomy.Gene Expression Omnibus liver regeneration data were utilized for locating DNAJB6 in liver regeneration.DNAJB6 low-expression human hepatocytes were constructed by DNAJB6-Si transfection. The relationship between DNAJB6 and liver regeneration was examined by Western blot detection of cell proliferation markers PCNA and CCK8 cell proliferation experiments. And the possible molecular mechanism of DNAJB6 regulating liver regeneration in PLT was studied by Western blot detection of nuclear protein and protein in cell proliferation signal pathway. Results:The result of residual liver regeneration of partial hepatectomy showed that DNAJ family genes were differentially expressed on regenerated liver gene chip and DNAJB6 was lowly expressed on regenerated liver gene chip.Meanwhile, DNAJB6 was lowly expressed in regenerated liver tissues of PLT and partial liver resection. After silencing DNAJB6 by transfecting DNAJB6-Si, the cellular expression level of PCNA and proliferation rate increased. However, nuclear extraction failed to detect the nuclear/plasma changes of β-catenin and the level of Wnt4 protein had no obvious change.Although the activation levels of p38 and JNK2 downstream of Ras/MAPK showed no change, there was a higher activation level of ERK.Conclusions:In regenerating liver tissue, hepatocytes may suppress the Ras/MEK/ERK signaling pathway by lowering the expression level of DNAJB6 to promote liver regeneration.
