PURPOSE: to determine the effects of hand acupuncture on IBS-affected college women's bowel symptoms and psychologic health by applying the therapy to them. METHOD: The researcher sampled the nursing student attending a college of nursing science in Seoul and checked if they were affected by IBS in reference to the Rome II Criteria. Students were classified into a experimental group(21 subjects) and a control group(19 subjects). Hand acupuncture was applied to the experimental group 8 rounds for 4 weeks; each round lasted 30 minutes. Data were collected for 8 weeks from October 11 to December 1, 2004. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 program. RESULT: After the therapy, frequency(p=.005), distress(p=.001) and disability (p=.000) associated IBS bowel symptom and anxiety were significantly lowered in the experimental group(p=.026). CONCLUSIONS: It was confirmed through this study that the hand acupuncture would be effective in relieving IBS bowel symptoms and anxiety.

Objective:To understand the basic situation of pharmacy staff in the hospitals in Beijing Xicheng district. Methods:Totally 12 hospitals in Xicheng district were investigated by a questionnaire( including the age,educational degree and professional title of phama-cists) , and the obtained information was classified, gathered and counted, and the evaluation and recommendation were also performed after the combination with regulations and actual work. Results:There were 385 persons working in the pharmacies of the 12 hospitals, which accounted for 7. 56 % of the total health professionals. Among them, 67. 02% were under the age of 40, 83. 11%were undergraduates or specialists, 84. 93% had primary or intermediate titles, 3. 38% had finished standardized training, and 4. 68%were clinical pharmacists. Conclusion:The composition of pharmacy staff can not match the national requirements. It is necessary to optimize the structure of pharmacy staff, improve the level of education, and strengthen the standardized training and clinical pharma-cist training in order to promote the career competence of pharmacists.

Objective To interpret the clinicopathological features and the key factors for diagnosis of polyomavirus-associated nephropathy (PVAN).Methods Clinicopathological data of 13casesof polyomavirus-associatednephropathyduring2008-2011inour hospitalwere retrospectively analyzed.Three cases received repeat biopsy.The clinicopathological features were analyzed according to thelight microscopicsceneandSV40-Timmunochemicalexpression.Results Recipients had a peak incidence of PVAN in 12 to 18 months period after renal transplantation,accompanied by elevated serum creatinine.Due to the progression of the disease,3patterns of histological findings could be identified.The early lesion was confined to the collected ducts,with slightly inflammatory infiltration in medullary interstitium,viral inclusions were not necessarily seen.The only findings could be enlarged nuclear and irregular arrangement of the tubular epithelial cells.At the developing stage,prominent tubulointerstitial nephritis was detected,and the involved tubules extended to other segments of renal tubule,even the parietal epithelial cells of Bowman's capsule could be compromised.The epithelial cells shed off,leading the tubular basement membrane exposed.Typical intra-nuclear inclusions as well as variable nuclear changes were found.At the end stage,the allograft showed notable chronic tubulointersititial change,with diffuse tubular atrophy and interstitial fibrosis.Although in this period,typical viral inclusions were rare, stillIHCshowedpositiveexpression of SV40-T. After immunosuppressantreductionor exchange,2 cases developed renal failure,4 cases showed sustained increment in serum creatinine,while 7 cases had a stabilized serum creatinine level.Conclusions Polyomavirus-associated nephropathy can display uneven pathological changes,as well as the morphology of the infected epithelial cells.Segments of the involved tubule are associated with the course of disease.Reduction of immunosuppressant at the early stage has a favorable effect.A prompt renal biopsy should be done in renal transplant recipient if who shows increased serum creatinine,and a routine polyomavirus immunohistochemical staining should be applied as well.

BACKGROUND: It is still controversial that interspinous dynamic stabilization system Wallis and Coflex which one can provide better clinical effects for lumbar degenerative disease.OBJECTIVE: To systematically assess the clinical effectiveness and safety of Wallis and Coflex for lumbar degenerative disease.METHODS: According to the computer-based online search of PubMed, Embase, Medline, Cochrane Library, CBM,CNKI, Wanfang Database, and VIP, articles published before August 1st, 2016 were searched. Articles about Wallis comparing with Coflex for lumbar degenerative disease were included; the quality score of methodology was assessed by MINORS. Research data abstracted and synthesized by Review Manager 5.3 were used for meta-analysis.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Six studies were included, and all studies were designed for non-randomized controlled trial. (2) There were no significant statistical differences in Japanese Orthopedic Association, Oswestry disability index, visual analogue scale score, Prolo functional score, segmental lordosis angle, and segment movement degree. Incidence of adverse events was significantlue scale less in the Wallis group than in the Conflex group (P < 0.05).(3) There was no significant difference in clinical efficacy between Wallis and Coflex in the early and mid-term follow-up.We can conclude that Wallis may provide better clinical safety than Coflex.

Objective To explore the effects of different extracts of modified Siwu Siteng Decoction (TFT-Ⅰ, TFT-Ⅱ) on rat models with hyperuricemia. Methods Rat model with hyperuricemia was induced by hypoxanthine and oxonic acid potassium salt. Seventy rats were randomly divided into 7 groups:normal group, model group, allopurinol group, TFT-Ⅰ high and low dose groups, TFT-Ⅱhigh and low dose groups. Each dose group was given lavage with related medicine, and blank group and model group were given lavage with distilled water for one week, respectively. Uric acid in serum (SUA) was measured through fully automatic biochemical analyzer, and xanthine oxidase (XOD) activity in serum and liver tissue was measured through colorimetric method. Results Compared with model group, TFT-Ⅰ and TFT-Ⅱ high dose groups significantly reduced the level of SUA, serum and liver XOD activity (P<0.05), with significant statistical difference between the two groups (P<0.05). TFT-Ⅰ and TFT-Ⅱ low dose groups had no significant effects on SUA, and XOD activity in serum and liver (P>0.05). Conclusion Alcohol soluble ingredients of astragalus membranaceus and Siwu decoction in modified Siwu Siteng Decoction can effectively reduce the level of blood uric acid.

Objective To evaluate the clinic effect of local resection plus axialla lympha nodes dissection on treating early stage breast cancer. Methods 112 cases of early stage breast cancer in PLA309 Hospital were divided into 2 groups: local resection plus axially dissection group (46 cases) and Halsted's operation group (66 cases). The survival rate,local recurrence rate,metastasis rate, and casmetic effect of breast were followed up for long time. Results In treatment group, the 3,5,8 years survival rates were 97.8%, 80.5%, 76.1% respectively. In control group 3,5,8 years survival rates were 97.0%, 87.9% and 71.2% respectively. The rate of local recurrence was 4.3% in treatment group and 4.6% in control group.The metastasis rate in treatment group was 19.6%, in control group was 16.7%. 93.2% of patients in treatment group kept good breast figure. Conclusions Local resection plus axially dissection, with the same effect as Halsted procedure, is an ideal method in treating early stage breast cancer.

ObjectiveTo investigate the relation of learning and memory with the expression of postsynaptic density 95 (PSD-95) in traumatic brain injury (TBI) rats in Morris water maze.Methods Forty adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to the TBI group and control group.The TBI group was produced using the impact acceleration injury model.Morris water maze memory paradigm was used to assess the learning and memory function in both groups one week after injury.Protein electro-phoresis was used to observe the expression of PSD-95 1,3,7 d after TBI.ResultsCompared with the control group,the TBI group showed a longer latency in the Morris water maze after one week,significantly longer than the latency in the first three days after TBI.The quantification of PSD-95 in the hippocampus was gradually reduced at one week after TBI ( P ＜ 0.01 ).ConclusionTBI may decrease expression of PSD-95 in the hippocampus of the rats,as may be one of the mechanisms for impairments of learning and memory of rats.

Objective To investigate the pathological and clinical effects of preoperative intra arterial infusion chemotherapy for patients with advanced breast cancer.Methods The clinical data of 52 patients with advanced breast cancer were analyzed retrospectively.Twenty two patients were treated with preoperative intra arterial infusion chemotherapy (treatment group),and 30 were treated without preoperative intra arterial infusion chemotherapy (control group).Results In the treatment group,the tumour size reduced and symptoms relieved after intra arterial infusion chemotherapy in 86.4% of the patients.Pathological examination of the specimens showed that raryopyknosis,raryorrhexis,cytoplasm coagulation and necrosis in cancer cells around the vascular vessels were found in all patients.Interstitial edema,inflammatory cells infiltration ,fibroelastosis around the cancer cells,proliferous intima thrombus and inflammation of vessels were also found.But in the control group,the histological chang of cancer cell was not found yet.All patients were followed up for 2 to 7 years.Local recurrence rate in the treatment group was 13.6%, while that of the control group was 33.3% (P

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the value of infusion chemotherapy by pump implantation via hepatic artery or portal vein or both (double-pump chemotherapy, DPC) for hepatic metastasis from colorectal cancer.

METHODSThirty patients with hepatic metastasis from colorectal cancer were divided into three groups: 1. Group I-DPC (12 patients). 2. Group II-hepatic artery implantation chemotherapy (10 patients) and 3. Group III-portal vein implantation chemotherapy (8 patients).

RESULTSResponse rate was 66.7% in group I, 60% in group II and 37.5% in group III. The 0.5-, 1-, 2-year survival rates were 100.0%, 75.0%, 41.7% in group I, 90.0%, 60.0%, 30.0% in group II and 87.5%, 50.0%, 25.0% in group III.

CONCLUSIONDouble pump implantation chemotherapy is effective in treating hepatic metastasis from colorectal cancer. It is better than hepatic artery or portal vein pump-implantation chemotherapy alone.
