The main purpose of this study is to observe and analyze the characteristics and the clinical significance of long-term echocardiogram data in patients after mechanical aortic valve replacement operation. Fifty-five cases were recruited over 5 years after mechanical aortic valve replacement operation, with complete echocardiogram examination profiles. The 55 subjects were divided into predominate aortic stenosis group and predominate aortic regurgitation group, based on preoperative examinations. And another way of division was also carried out that according to the effective orifice area index (EOAI), the subjects were divided into three groups, i. e. , severe prosthesis-patient mismatch (PPM) group, moderate PPM group, and non PPM group. Characteristics of long-term echocardiogram data of the subjects were analyzed. Patients with aortic stenosis showed significantly decreased thickness of intraventricular septum and left ventricular posterior wall about half a year after operation (P < 0.05). Half a year after operation, patients with aortic regurgitation showed decreased left ventricular internal dimension diastole and left ventricular internal dimension systole, and increased ejection fraction (P < 0.05). Differences in mean aortic valve pressure gradient, forward blood flow across the aortic valves, and ejection fraction were not significant among those with severe PPM, moderate PPM, and non PPM groups (P > 0.05). Number of cases of ascending aorta dimension increased as time goes on and pathogenesis of other valve diseases. A conclusion could be drawn that the heart function of patients with aortic valve disease could be improved after mechanical aortic valve replacement operation, but pathologies in other valves and ascending aorta might be increased, and therefore periodical postoperative echocardiogram evaluation with long-term pharmaceutical therapy could be necessary.

Objective To investigate the epidemiology of BDV infection in Yili horses and Yili donkeys and to analyze phylogenetic source of BDV in Yili area, Xinjiang. Methods We established fluo- rescence quantitative nested RT-PCR to detect BDV p24 segment in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of 518 Yili horses and 206 Yili donkeys in Yili area, Xinjiang. Positive products were validated by detecting BDV p40 segment and plasmid to preclude the contamination, and were sequenced to analyze the homology of gene sequence, amino acid sequence and phylogenetic tree. Results The positive rates of BDV infection in PBMCs of 518 Yili horses and 206 Yili donkeys were 0.97% and 1.94%, respectively. The results of BDV p40 segment verification were positive in all of the samples of BDV p24 positive. All the samples tested were not contaminated by plasmid. There was a homology of the gene sequence of positive PCR samples with strain He/80. And the gene sequence revealed more than 93% identical to H1766 and strain V. Conclusion Our study suggested BDV natural infection in Yili horses and Yili donkeys. The en- demic BDV had a high degree of identity to strain He/80.

Objective:
To investigate the clinical effect of restoration of posterior teeth with machinable CAD/CAM resin hybrid ceramic (VITA Enamic) onlays after root canal treatment.
Methods :
136 posterior teeth restored after root canal treatment in our hospital were selected as the research subjects. The posterior teeth were restored chairside with CAD / CAM ceramic onlays to recover occlusion relation and protect residual dental tissues. With 68 teeth in each group, one group was restored with a machinable CAD / CAM resin hybrid ceramic (VITA Enamic) while the control group received zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate ceramic (VITA Suprinity). Before bonding, all the onlays were examined for good adjacency, fitness and occlusion, and then the adhesive surface was etched with hydrofluoric acids. After isolating the rubber dams in the mouths, the onlays were bonded with dual-cure resin cements. The patients were followed up for 24 months to compare the degree of prosthesis integrity, marginal fitness, gingival health, dental integrity, color matching and secondary caries.
Results :
After restoration, all the onlays were in harmony with the surrounding teeth with good aesthetic effect and suitable marginal fit. Two years later, there were no significant differences in the marginal fitness, gingival health, dental integrity or secondary cavities between the two groups (P > 0.05). In terms of restoration integrity, the VITA Enamic onlays (100%) were intact and displayed good retention. The group that received VITA Suprinity had 6 onlay (9.23%) fractures and a success rate of 90.77%; however, the residual dental tissues did not break. The difference of prosthesis integrity between the two groups was statistically significant (χ2= 4.45, P < 0.05).
Conclusion
Chairside CAD/CAM resin hybrid ceramic (VITA Enamic) onlays can quickly restore posterior teeth after root canal therapy and better protect the residual dental tissue.

Objective To explore the value of CT radiomics model in predicting three-year survival time in patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods Eighty one patients pathologically or clinically confirmed HCC and B stageof Barcelona clinical liver cancer before transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) in Zhejiang Cancer Hospitalwere retrospectively enrolled from January 2010 to June 2014.A primary cohort consisted of 64 patients and an independent validation cohort consisted of 17 patients. The patients were divided into survival group of 39 cases and death groupof 42 cases duringthree-year follow-up. All the patients underwentnon-enhanced and contrast-enhanced CTimages scan before TACE. Three hundered and seventy six quantization radiomics features were extracted from the arterial phase and portal phase CTimages of target lesion. LASSO regression model was used for data dimension reduction. Logistic regression was used to develop the prediction model. The predictive ability of the model was validated using the area under the curve (AUC) of receiver operating characteristic(ROC) analysis. Results The radiomics features selected from the arterial and portal phase were 8 and 5, respectively. The arterial prediction model showed AUC=0.833, sensitivity=83.9%(26/31), specificity=81.8%(27/33), accuracy=82.8%(53/64)in primary datasetand AUC=0.861, sensitivity=75.0%(6/8), specificity=100.0%(9/9), accuracy=88.2%(15/17)in independent validation dataset. The portal prediction model showed AUC=0.858, sensitivity=83.3%(25/30), specificity=85.3%(29/34), accuracy=84.4%(54/64)in primary dataset and AUC=0.750, sensitivity=75.0%(6/8), specificity=100.0%(9/9), accuracy=88.2(15/17)in independent validation dataset. Conclusion This study shows CT radiomics model can be conveniently used to facilitate the preoperative individualized prediction of three-year survival time in patients with HCC.

OBJECTIVETo reconstruct the centric relation of upper and lower edentulous dental models with two methods, to compare the reconstruction accuracy of the vertical and horizontal distance, and to provide some references to computer aided design and computer aided manufacture for complete denture.
METHODSDental models and rims made from five edentulous patients in clinical were obtained. Each model was stocked with 10 identical size positioning cylinders (20 cylinders on each pair models) on 5 side-surfaces of basement. Twelve center point pairs were paired between upper and lower models from 20 cylinder bottoms. The vertical and horizontal distances of 12 center point pairs were regarded as the evaluation items. Firstly, upper and lower models and rims were scanned separately. Then, models and rims (fixed in centric relation respectively with positioning articulator and rubber banding) were scanned. In software, all the data were registered to reconstruct centric relation based on common region. Digital models were measured with software tools, and real models were measured with a contact measurement arm. The differences of the homologous items between two methods were analyzed with paired-t test.
RESULTSThe vertical distance errors for dental articulator positioning method was (0.356 ± 0.200) mm and that of the rubber band method was (0.382 ± 0.299) mm, and paired-t test between the two methods showed no significant differences (P > 0.05). The horizontal errors were (0.010 ± 0.411) mm and (0.104 ± 0.476) mm, and paired-t test showed significant differences (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSComparing with rubber band method, dental articulator positioning can significantly increases three-dimensional reconstruction accuracy of edentulous jaw gypsum models' horizontal relation.

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the genetic causes of hearing loss with enlarged vestibular aqueduct (EVA) in two children from unrelated two Chinese families. METHODS: Sanger sequencing of all coding exons in SLC26A4 (encoding Pendrin protein) was performed on the two patients, their sibling and parents respectively. To predict and visualize the potential functional outcome of the novel variant, model building, structure analysis, and in silico analysis were further conducted. RESULTS: The results showed that the proband from family I harbored a compound heterozygote of SLC26A4 c.1174A>T (p.N392Y) mutation and c.1181delTCT (p.F394del) variant in exon 10, potentially altering Pendrin protein structure. In family II, the proband was identified in compound heterozygosity with a known mutation of c.919-2A>G in the splice site of intron 7 and a novel mutation of c.1023insC in exon 9, which results in a frameshift and translational termination, consequently leading to truncated Pendrin protein. Sequence homology analysis indicated that all the mutations localized at high conservation sites, which emphasized the significance of these mutations on Pendrin spatial organization and function. CONCLUSION: In summary, this study revealed two compound heterozygous mutations (c.1174A>T/c.1181delTCT; c.919- 2A>G/c.1023insC) in Pendrin protein, which might account for the deafness of the two probands clinically diagnosed with EVA. Thus this study contributes to improve understanding of the causes of hearing loss associated with EVA and develop a more scientific screening strategy for deafness.
