Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1986;0(02):-
Objective To explore the clinical features and prognosis of arrhythmia in newborn infants. Methods Eighty children with arrhythmia were diagnosed by physical examination and electrocardiogram monitoring in author's hospital from Jan.2004 to Dec.2006.Their clinical features and 24-hour dynamic electrocardiogram were analyzed at the acute stage and followed up.Results Out of 80 cases of arrhythimics,52 cases were boys and 28 cases were girls, with an average age of 4 days on diagnosis of arrhythmias.Forty-five neonates presented with supraventricular arrhythmia, accounting for 56.3%.Their clinical presentations were atypical, and the hypoxia, infection, electrolyte disturbances and metabolic disorders were the main causes of the arrhythmias. After supportive and anti-arrhythmia treatment,18 cases of arrhythmias disappeared of 25 children with premature atrial beats;10 cases of 21 children with premature ventricular beats were cured,2 cases of 4 children with ventricular tachycardia,1 case died;2 cases of 3 children with supraventricular tachycardia didn't occure;3 cases of 5 with atrio-ventricular block were cured. The prognosis was better in supraventricular arrhythmias than that in ventricular and other arrhythmias at discharge. At the follow-up of(1.2?0.7)years,there were no differences in rates of recovery between supraventricular arrhythmias and ventricular arrhythmias. Conclusions Supraventricular arrhythmia was the most common type of arrhythmias in neonates. Most of the arrhythmia in neonates might be functional and could recover without treatment.Supraventricular arrhythmia usually had better prognosis in acute period.Only a few neonates with severe arrhythmia need anti-arrhythmias treatment.

OBJECTIVE Toobservetheeffectoftemozolomide(TMZ)incombinationwithtetran-drine(TET)on cell viability, colony formation, migration and cell apoptosis of human glioblastoma U87 cells.METHODS TheviabilityofU87cellstreatedwithTET(8-64μmol·L-1),TMZ(50-400 μmol·L-1 )and TMZ combined with TET (3.2,6.4 μmol·L-1 )was detected by cytotoxicity assays with Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8),the colony formation was detected by Giemsa staining, cell migration ability was detected by Transwell migration assay, cell apoptosis was assayed by flow cytometry using Annexin Ⅴ /PI double staining, and the expression of apoptosis-related proteins expression was detec-tedbyWesternblotting.RESULTS ThedataofCCK-8showedthatTET(r=0.903,P<0.05)orTMZ (r=0.995,P<0.05)could inhibit U87 cell viability alone in a concentration-dependent manner. The cell viability inhibition rate of U87 cells by TMZ co mbined with TET was higher than by TMZ or TET alone. Data showed that the effect of TMZ combined with TET was additive.TMZ 100 μmol·L-1 inhibited U87 cell colony formation and migration ablility compared with normal control. The inhibition rate of U87 cells by TMZ 100 μmol·L-1 combined with TET (3.2 and 6.4 μmol·L-1 )was more significant than by TMZ alone (P<0.05).Compared with TMZ alone,TMZ combined with TET (3.2 and 6.4 μmol·L-1 )signifi-cantly down-regulated the expression of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-XL,but significantly up-regulated the expression of cleaved caspase 3 protein and cleaved poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase.CONCLUSION TET combined with TMZ can inhibit U87 cell viability, colony formation and migration by activating caspase-dependent apoptotic pathway, resulting in apoptosis.

BACKGROUND:In vitro experiments have demonstrated that the biodegradable mesh-like microporous baloon made of macromolecular materials has obvious advantage of anti-leakage, which is capable of maintaining calcium homeostasis, has no inhibitory effects on cel growth and on microscopic interdigitation formation between new bone and bone cement. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the therapeutic effects of biodegradable mesh-like microporous baloon with calcium bone cement on vertebral fractures based on animal experiments. METHODS:The fracture model was established in 48 New Zealand rabbits, in which a bone dril was introduced after successful puncture at sites near left low extremity of the femur. These rabbit models were randomized into two groups: experimental group with calcium phosphate bone cement and biodegradable mesh-like microporous baloon and control group only with calcium phosphate bone cement. Clinical parameters such as blood cel count, biochemistry, and CT/X ray were examined at 1, 3 and 6 months after implantation of the baloon and bone cement. After that, the specimens were fixed for pathological analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The operation was performed under general anesthesia with no eventful infusion of bone cement. The expansion of baloon was satisfactory without definite extravasation of bone cement in the experimental group. In the control group, cement diffusion was found with pulmonary embolism occurring in three New Zealand rabbits. No statistical significance for blood cel counts and biochemistry was found between pre- and postoperation or between two groups. The materials in the two groups had favorable biocompatibility with injured bones without obvious immunological response. In the experimental group, the baloon wal was thinned and partial bone tissues grew into the cement at 1 month; at 3 months, a large amount of bone tissues grew into the cement and cement volume diminished; at 6 months, the baloon disappeared and only a smal amount of cement left in the bone tissues. In the control group, it was difficult to determine when the cement degraded. The biodegradable mesh-like microporous baloon combined with calcium bone cement is superior to bone cement alone in the management of vertebral fractures.

Objective To evaluate the curative effect of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) with Tconsling suspension surgery. Methods From May 2010 to September 2011,we treated 9 cases SUI with T-consling suspension surgery. The average age was 51 years (range 45 -63 years). They all suffered from stress incontinence 1 -5 years. Urodynamic test were performed preoperatively and stress urinary incontinence was confirmed.Abdominal leak point pressures is between 75 - 103 cm H2O (average 87 cm H2O),and no obvious cystocele vaginalis and others pelvic organ prolapsed disease were detected.Operation was done by transvaginal front wall incision to place T-consling suspension tape beneath the middle urethra. Results Operation time were between 15 to 25 mins, with 17 minutes on average.EBL was 5 - 30 ml.Urinary catheters were drawn 3 -4 d postoperatively. In 9 cases,8 were cured, one improved. The improved case had leakage when abdominal pressure increases, but became less significant, and the other cases had no leakage when abdominal pressure increases. The short-term cure rate was 89%. Conclusions The Tconsling suspension is safe, effective and easy to perform for the treatment of SUI,however, longer follow-up and more cases are necessary to confirm the long-term effects of this procedure.
