Objective To study the expression and clinical significance of the SALL4 in human gastric carcinoma tissues. Methods The expression of SALL4 in 91 samples of gastric carcinoma and 37 samples of normal gastric tissues was detected by RT-PCR,Western blot and immunohistochemistry, and its relationship with the clinical data were analyzed statistically. Results The positive expression rate of SALL4 in gastric carcinoma(74.7%)was significantly higher than that(18.9%)in normal gastric mucosa tissues(P <0.05).Moreover,with the decreased with the differentiation of gastric carcinoma, the positive expression rate of SALL4 was increased. The expression of SALL4 mRNA and protein in gastric carcinoma tissues were significantly higher than that in normal gastric tissues(P <0.050).The expression levels of SALL4 were relevant to lymph node metastasis(P =0.001),infiltra-tion depth(P =0.029)and the differentiation degree of gastric carcinoma(P =0.050).Conclusion SALL4 was highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues and relevant to lymph node metastasis, infiltration depth and the differentiation degree, which may have play an important role in the development of gastric cancer.

Objective To study the expression of novel inhibitor of apoptosis protein(IAP) family member livin gene and its two isoforms(livin ? and livin ?) in brain tissue of children with gliomas. Methods Livin ? and Livin ? mRNA were detected by real time fluorescent quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) in brain tissue of 30 children with gliomas and 12 healthy children.Result The positive rate of Livin mRNA expression was 83.3%(25/30 cases)in 30 cases of children with gliomas, the positive rate of Livin mRNA was only 8.3%(1/12 case) in normal brain tissue, there was significant difference in 2 groups(P

Objective To investigate how to improve test quality by monitoring and analyzing 15 clinical laboratory quality indicators from the National Health and Family Planning Commission .Methods Data were collected from clinical laboratory department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University between January 2011 and August 2015.15 quality indicators were analyzed retrospectively , including the error rate of specimen type , the coefficient variation unqualified rate of internal quality control test, the reporting rate of critical value , et al.Results The monitoring results of quality indicators basically satisfied the quality goals , except that the median of turn around time in pre-analytical phase was not established, routine internal quality control was not conducted in some laboratory tests in analytical phase and the reporting rate and reporting timely rate of critical value should be further improved in post -analytical phase .Conclusion Medical laboratory quality system can be continuously improved by means of setting up the quality goals of 15 quality indicators referring to sub-specialty and laboratory tests , as well as automated monitoring, statistics and analysis in LIS.

Objective To study the main pharmacodynamics effect of compound lavender ointment on the scald, anti-inflammation and analgesia. Methods Sixty guinea pigs were divided into normal groups, model groups( superficialⅡ°scalding models) ,compound lavender ointment high, median, low dose groups, and jing wan hong ointment groups, then observation of the wounds and healing was made and recorded.Histopathological examination was made to examine the wounds, and ELISA to analyze serum TNF-α、IL-6、IL-8.Xylene ear swelling model and writhing test were used to observe the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of the compound lavender ointment. Results Compound lavender ointment can relieve the wounds swelling and exudation, which may be related to the decrease of proinflammatory cytokines(P <0.01), and promote the wound healing significantly( P <0.01) ,that the side-effects were not observed.High dose of compound lavender ointment can inhibit ear swelling and have certain analgesia with the writhing tests. Conclusion Compound lavender ointment have the promoting wound healing,anti-infectious and antalgic effects on the scald.

Objective:To collect the clinical materials of primary liver cancer patients treated by gamma knife and analyze the treatment methods as well as short-term efficacy, and to provide a reference for the clinical treatment of primary liver cancer patients. Methods:A total of 633 patients with inoperable primary liver cancer were treated by body gamma knife.According to the TNM staging method of Union for International Cancer Control(UICC), there were 351 cases with clear TNM staging.Among them, there were 251 cases (71.5%) at T3 stage and 57 cases(16.2%) at T4 stage. The prescription dose of 200-600 cGy each time to the 40%-85% dose line covering the planned target volume(PTV), this program was performed 5 times per week, and the number of treatment ranged from 2 to 13.The biochemical and imaging changes were observed 2-3 months after treatment to evaluate the short-term efficacy. Results:During the treatment, 229(36.2%)patients had adverse reactions,100 (15.8%) patients appeared the reduced white blood cells, and 137 (21.6%) patients appeared the reduced platelets. On discharge from the hospital, 601 patients were improved, 22 patients had no obvious change, 5 cases were worse, and 5 cases died. The proportion of improved patients who received the cumulative dose between 3 000 cGy to 4 000 cGy was higher than those who received the cumulative dose less than 3 000 cGy(P<0.05).After treatment, the curative effects were evaluated in 45 patients during two and three months, including PR 77.8%(35/45) and SD 22.2%(10/45), and the total effective rate was 77.8%(35/45).No statistical differences in effective rates were found between different tumor diameter, single dose, and cumulative dose groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The proportion of adverse reactions in the primary liver cancer patients treated with body gamma knife is relatively low and the short-term efficacy is ideal.Body gamma knife treatment is a safe and effective treatment method for the primary liver cancer patients.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of miRNA-101 on the expression of the enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EXH2) in human androgen-independent prostated cancer LNCaP cells.
METHODSWe divided LNCaP cells into a blank control, a negative control, and a miRNA-l01 transfection group, constructed the vector by transfecting synthetic miRNA-101 mimics into the LNCaP cells, and evaluated the efficiency of transfection by fluorescence microscopy. Then we determined the expression level of EZH2 mRNA by qRT-PCR in the three groups of cells and that of the EZH2 protein in the negative control and transfection groups by Western blot.
RESULTSGreen fluorescence signals were observed in over 70% of the LNCaP cells in the transfection group after 24 hours of transfection. At 72 hours, the expression of miRNA-101 was significantly upregulated in the transfected cells (P < 0.01), that of EZH2 mRNA was remarkably lower in the transfection group (0.01 ± 0.10) than in the blank control (0.95 ± 0.40) and negative control (0.86 ± 0.30) groups (both P < 0.01), and that of the EZH2 protein was increased in the negative control but decreased in the transfection group with the extension of culture time.
CONCLUSIONmiRNA-101, with its inhibitory effect on the expression of EZH2 in LNCaP cells, is a potential biotherapeutic for prostate cancer.
