Objective To observe the expression of SGK in decidua in patients with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion(URSA) and to investigate its role in the course of apoptosis. Methods The expression of SGK was detected by immunohistochemistry in decidua of URSA(abortion group,n =50) and normal first trimester pregnant women(control group,n =30).The apoptotic index was detected by TUNEL.Results Compared with the control group, the positive expression of SGK decreased significantly in the abortion group, and the difference was statistically significant(x2 =6.78,P < 0.05).The average apoptotic index of the abortion group was (8.19 ± 3.58) %,which was significantly higher than (2.87 ±1.07)% of the control group(t =7.94,P<0.05).Conclusion Intensive apoptosis, the decreasing positive expression rate of SGK in decidua cells may play critical roles in URSA.

Objective To investigate the regularity and significance of serum interleukin-6(IL-6) levels in the patients with sepsis. Methods Forty sepsis patients with APACHEⅡ scores over 12 and 30 normal controls were involved in the study. The IL-6 levels in serum were detected with radio-immunity analysis assay and the correlations among the IL-6 levels, the prognosis and APACHEⅡ score were investigated. Results In the patients with sepsis, the average level of IL-6 in serum was(152.02?55.77) pg/ml,which was significantly higher than that of the control group [(85.79?30.96) pg/ml](P

ObjectiveTo observe effect of head and body acupuncture and moxibustion on stroke.Methods183 stroke patients were randomly divided into 3 groups, head acupuncture and moxibustion, body acupuncture and moxibustion, and head body acupuncture and moxibustion. After two months treatment, effects of 3 groups were evaluated.ResultsThere were no differences between head group and body group, body group and head body group, but there was significantly difference between head body group and head group (P<0.05).ConclusionThe head body acupuncture and moxibustion can gain the best clinical effect on stroke patients compared with simply head or body acupuncture and moxibustion.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effectiveness of monosialo gangliosides injection (GM-1) on cerebral palsy (CP) of children. Methods 87 children with CP were randomly divided into the observation group (51 cases) and control group (36 cases), and treated with physical therapy, acupuncture, massage and hyperbaric oxygen, but monosialo gangliosides was added to the observation group only. The development quotient (DQ) of each group was calculated by Gesell development schedules before and after the therapy respectively. Therapeutic effects of two groups were compared. Results The therapeutic effect of the observation group was more satisfactory than that of control group(P<0.05). The observation group expressed higher DQ and scores of gross motor, fine motor, language and reaction than that of control group. Conclusion Monosialo ganglioside is effective on CP.

Objective: To assess low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels and use of lipid-lowering treatment among young and middle-aged ultra-high-risk patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in China. Methods: The study was based on the"Improving Care for Cardiovascular Disease in China (CCC)-ACS"project, a collaborative registry by and Chinese Society of Cardiology (CSC) and the American Heart Association. Hospitalized-patients with ACS were consecutively enrolled from 159 tertiary and 82 secondary hospitals across China, related clinical information was collected. This study included young and middle-aged hospitalized patients (18-59 years) with ACS from November 2014 to December 2019 registered in CCC-ACS project. Ultra-high-risk was defined according to Chinese expert consensus on lipid management of ultra-high-risk atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) patients of CSC. The mean LDL-C levels at admission, pre-hospital lipid-lowering therapy and proportion of patients with LDL-C target achieved were analyzed. Results: A total of 42 230 patients younger than 60 years with ACS were included in this study. The mean age was (50.4±6.9) years, and 86.8% (36 676/42 230) of the ACS patients were male. Among them, 86.9% (36 687/42 230) met the criteria of ultra-high-risk. The mean level of LDL-C at admission was (2.8±1.0)mmol/L, only 5.3 % (1 948/36 687) patients achieved the targeted goal of LDL-C<1.4 mmol/L. Among the ultra-high-risk ASCVD patients, 17.5% (6 430/36 687) received lipid-lowering drugs before hospitalization, 96.4% (6 198/6 430) of whom received statins monotherapy. Among patients receiving pre-hospital statins, only 9.9% (626/6 323) patients reached an LDL-C<1.4 mmol/L at admission. Conclusions: The majority of young and middle-aged hospitalized patients with ACS are ultra-high-risk patients for ASCVD in China. Pre-hospital lipid-lowering drugs use is lower in these ultra-high-risk ASCVD patients and most patients do not reach the new LDL-C target level at admission.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2007;27(8):724-727
OBJECTIVETo study the change in expressions of nerve growth related protein (GAP-43) and neurofilament (NF) after experimental injury of spinal cord, and the regulatory effect of Chinese medicine Suifukang (SFK) on them.
METHODSForty-eight from the 54 selected adult SD rats were established into spinal cord injury model by making hemitransection at the T12 level, and randomly divided into two groups, the SFK group feed with SKF contained liquor and the model group feeding with equal volume of saline. The another 6 rats were untreated and taken as the normal group. All rats were sacrificed in batches at different time points of day 3, 7, 15 and 30 after modeling. The spinal cord was obtained for determining the optic density (OD) of positive expression of GAP-43 and NF with immunohistochemical stain by microscopic and semi-quantitative image analysis.
RESULTS(1) OD of NF in the model group was obviously decreased on day 7, showing significant difference to that in the normal group and that in the SFK group (P < 0.05), and it maintained at low level after then, while the OD of NF in the SFK group was obviously higher than that in the model group (P < 0.05), it arrived the peak on day 15 and then dropped near the level in the normal group on day 30; (2) OD and of GAP-43 in the model group obviously decreased on day 3 (P < 0.05), showing significant difference to that in the normal group (P < 0.05), then it returned to approach to the level in the normal group on day 7. It was higher in the SFK group than in the model group on day 3, and maintained the high level to day 7, at that time, it was still higher than that in the model group and also higher than that in the normal group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSFK can promote the repair and regeneration of injured nerve fibers in spinal cord by up-regulating the expression of GAP-43 and NF.

Objective To study the effect of antiapoptosis factors PED/PEA-15 and XIAP on prostate cancer cells(PC-3)apoptosis.Methods The expressions of XIAP and PED/PEA-15 in prostate cancer cells(PC-3)were respectively assayed using the RT-PCR technique.XIAP and PED/ PEA-15 specific siRNA vectors were designed and constructed and then were transiently cotransfected into PC-3 cells under induction of liposome. The effects of siRNA vectors on PED/PEA-15 and XIAP transcription were assayed by RT-PCR technique, and the effect of XIAP and PED/PEA-15 on cancer cell apoptosis were determined by flow cytometry and microscope observation. Results PED/PEA- 15 and XIAP were both highly expressed in PC-3 cells.Enzyme digestion analysis and DNA sequencing confirmed that the PED/PEA-15 and XIAP-specific siRNA expression vectors were constructed successfully. The designed siRNA sequences of PED/PEA-15 and XIAP could specifically inhibit their transcription. The PC-3 cells which were cotransfected with PED/PEA-15 and XIAP- specific siRNA vectors were more sensitive to doxorubicin. The apoptosis rate of cotransfected cells was significantly increased. Conclusions PED/PEA-15 and XIAP might be involved in the development of prostate cancer.
