Treating different diseases with the same method is a unique original thinking in Chinese medicine, which embodies the spirit of treatment based on syndrome differentiation. We briefly reviewed the origin and development of this concept. We also reviewed that thinking of combination of disease and syndrome is its premise and foundation. We put forward the conditionality of diseases in treating different diseases with the same method by cutting-in modern biological basic researches, that is to say, one kind specific diseases or disease of one specific system. We emphasized the importance of diseases conditionality in treating different diseases with the same method, which was of great significance in studies on combination of disease and syndrome, correspondence of prescription and syndrome, and modern biological basic researches of treating different diseases with the same method.

Objective To observe the expression of SGK in decidua in patients with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion(URSA) and to investigate its role in the course of apoptosis.Methods The expression of SGK was detected by immunohistochemistry in decidua of URSA(abortion group,n =50) and normal first trimester pregnant women(control group,n =30).The apoptotic index was detected by TUNEL.Results Compared with the control group,the positive expression of SGK decreased significantly in the abortion group,and the difference was statistically significant(x2 =6.78,P ＜ 0.05).The average apoptotic index of the abortion group was (8.19 ± 3.58) ％,which was significantly higher than (2.87 ±1.07)％ of the control group(t =7.94,P＜0.05).Conclusion Intensive apoptosis,the decreasing positive expression rate of SGK in decidua cells may play critical roles in URSA.

Objective To examine the relationship between the A118G polymorphism of mu-opioid receptor(OPRM1) gene and analgesic effects of oxycodone hydrochloride in patients with severe cancer pain. Methods Fifty-nine patients with severe cancer-induced pain were divided into 3 groups by genotype(AA group,AG group and GG group,23,28,8 patients, respectively). They were orally treated with oxycodone hydrochloride sustained-release tablets,and the treatment dosage and adverse reactions(including nausea,vomiting,dizziness,constipation,etc.)were compared between groups. Results The variation of allele frequencies(118G)was 37.3%.The dosage of oxycodone hydrochloride sustained-release tablets used in AA, AG and GG groups was(27.0±14.3),(36.4±22.5)and(55.0±35.1)mg,respectively,and the differences were statistically significant between groups( P = 0. 01). On the part of adverse reactions,the incidence of nausea and vomiting,dizziness, constipation was 28.8%,22.0%,and 52.5%,in AA,AG and GG groups,respectively,and there was no significant difference between groups(P>0.05). Conclusion The analgesic effect of oxycodone hydrochloride is affected by opioid receptor gene polymorphism.Patients with G allelic variation(AG or GG genotype)require larger doses of oxycodone hydrochloride than those with AA genotype.However,adverse reactions are not associated with polymorphism.

To explore the effective components represented by fingerprint contributed to allelopathic effect of different Salvia miltiorrhiza aqueous concentration on seeds and seedlings of radish, grey relational analysis was used to establish the chromatography-efficacy relation. The results show that 15 peaks devote high allelopathic contribution to radish seeds and seedlings. The study will provide a new concept for allelochemicals screening and study.
