China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2015;28(10):924-927
OBJECTIVETo study effects of autogenous femoral head bone grafting combined with total hip replacement for the treatment of old center dislocation of hip joint, and to evaluate the superiority of acetabular defect reconstruction with autogenous bone.
METHODSFrom March 2008 to December 2013, 16 patients (16 hips) with old center dislocation of hip joint were treated with autologous bone graft combined with total hip replacement. There were 11 males and 5 females, ranging in age from 41 to 72 years old, with an average of 56.3 years old. The duration of the disease ranged from 3.6 to 37.2 years. Twelve patients had injuries caused by traffic accidents and 4 patients were caused by falling down. The hip joint pain at the first month after operation, Harris score and hip joint movement of all patients were observed by using electronic case follow-up system.
RESULTSAll the patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 11 to 78 months, with an average of 27.3 months. The postoperative hip joint movement of (56.2±23.4)° VAS 86.3±7.2 and Harris score 32.6±12.6 were all better than preoperative (181.8±17.6)°, 11.1±2.6 and 86.3±7.2. The joint pain was reduced and the function limitation was improved after operation, and the prosthesis position was good.
CONCLUSIONWhen the autologous femoral head bone grafting combined with total hip arthroplasty is used to treat old hip central dislocation, the initial and long-term stability of acetabular bone grafting is good, and the technique can avoid allogeneic bone complications, bone source rationally and reduce the economic burden of patients.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(02):-
Objective To explore the dynamic changes of abdominal and peripheral arteries in the patients with familial hypercholesterolemia(FH). Methods The intima-media thickness(IMT), stenotic degree and hemodynamics change of arteries were measured by ultrasonography in three children in 3 FH pedigrees. Results The plaques number and IMT of carotid and femoral arteries in the patients with FH significantly increased. The IMT of vertebral artery, subclavein artery, abdominal aorta, renal artery, illac artery and popliteal artery did not obviously changed. Conclusion Noninvasive vascular ultrasound was a preferred imaging technique to follow up the vascular change in the patients with FH.

Fibrosis is a pathological process characterized by tissue scars and can occur in many organs of the human body. Organ fibrosis is manifested by increased fibrous connective tissue and reduced parenchymal cells in organ tissues, which can lead to destruction of organ structures and reduced function, which seriously endangers human health. Current strategies for treating organ fibrosis include: blocking the transforming growth factor-

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(13):-
Objective To identify the arteriosclerosis (AS)changes in peripheral artery and abdominal aorta of patients with familial hypercholesterolemia(FH) during follow-up.Methods Seventeen patients of 6 FH [5 male and 12 female with average age of (16.12?6.65) years old],along with 17 subjects of matching sexes and ages with normal blood cholesterol as healthy control group, underwent examination by color doppler ultrasound, and changes of intima-media thickness (IMT) in peripheral artery and abdominal aorta, severity of stenosis, morphology, and function were observed. Results For 17 patients of FH,the total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) in serum were higher significantly and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was lower significantly than those in healthy control group(Pa0.05).The IMT of carotid aorta, subclavicular aorta, common abdominal artery, and common femoral artery in 13 patients were showing various degrees of increase, yielding an average of 2.9 mm.As patients aged, this phenomenon was reported to be more profound in common abdominal aorta and femoral artery. Conclusions Patients of FH show AS lesion in early stage and it worsened as they aged, from carotid arteries to common abdominal aorta and femoral artery.Color doppler ultrasound can be a non-invasive examination for monitoring the progress of AS in blood vessels in patients of diagnosed FH.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and clinical feasibility of the computer-assisted full plan- ning system for tibial fracture treatment with intramedullary nailing. Methods After analyzing the functional structure and operative procedures of the system, nine plastic tibia and 12 cadaver lower limbs were used for image mosaicing based on C-arm (PHILIPS BV Libra) fluoroscopic images in the operation room to assess the correctness of the mosaicing and planning algorithms. The plastic tibial model was used for analysis of the mosaicing precision. The cadaver tibial bone was used for reduction experiment with the reduction mechanism to analyze the operation feasi- bility. Results Only 7 to 10 [fluoroscopy time:(19.75?0.61)s] valid C-ann projection images were needed to produce a long bone panorama of the lower limb. The total time for image acquisition and mosaicing was within (4.17?0.86)minutes and the mosaicing precision in the plastic tibial model was (1.26?0.76)mm.The opera- tion of the reduction mechanism was very simple and could be controlled by a surgeon automatically or free of hand. An integrated reduction strategy could be produced for rough positioning in general and elaborate operations in de- tails. Conclusion The computer-assisted full planning system can be used for anatomical analysis based on the C-arm panorama, full surgical planning, virtual simulation, selection of proper intramedullary nails and fracture reduction in treatment of long bone fractures.
