International Eye Science 2015;(1):172-173
?AlM: To investigate the clinical characteristics and influencing factors of chronic renal failure ( CRF) patients with dry eye, and to provide clinical reference.?METHODS:Sixty-one cases (122 eyes) of patients with CRF ( CRF group ) and 61 cases ( 122 eyes ) of healthy persons ( control group) were carried out on Schirmer ▏test ( S▏t ) , break-up time of tear film ( BUT ) , corneal fluorescein staining ( FL) , test results of two groups were compared and related factors of dry eye in CRF patients were analyzed.?RESULTS: The results of S▏t and BUT in CRF group were lower than that in the control group (P<0. 05). The proportion of tear secretion reduce in CRF group ( S▏t<10mm/5min) was 49. 2% ( 60/122 ), which was higher than that in the control group ( 10. 0%, 12/122 ), the difference was statistically significant ( X2 = 45. 39, P <0. 05). The percentage of instability of tear film in CRF group (BUT≤10s) was 75. 4% (92/122), which was significantly higher than that in the control group (27. 0%, 33/122) (X2=57. 1, P<0. 05). The positive rate of corneal FL was 37. 7% (46/122), which was higher than that of the control group (10. 7%, 13/122), there was a statistically significant difference (X2= 24. 34, P<0. 05).?CONCLUSlON:CRF patients with a decrease in tear film stability and tear secretion are susceptible population to dry eye, clinically should be paid attention to the treatment.

This paper is in order to study the anti-feeding and growth inhibition activity of toatal ginsenoside of ginseng stems and leaves against 4th-instar Mythimna separata larvae. Simulating natural growing condition indoors, on the base, To study the anti-feeding and growth inhibition activity of toatal ginsenoside against 4th-instar M. separata larvae by leaf disc test. The toatal ginsenoside appeared to be of significant antifeeding activity against 4th-instar M. separata larvae. The 4th-instar M. separata larvae fed on the leaves of Sorghum bicolor treated with 20, 10, 5 g · L(-1) toatal ginsenoside. At 8 h, non-selective anti-feeding rate were 88.67%, 64.40% and 47.36%, and selective anti-feeding rate were 62.49% , 44.29% and 34.19%; Compared with the photographic, The toatal ginsenoside conld make the development period had prolonged 13h in treated group. The toatal ginsenoside had significant inhibition effect on feeding and growth and development against 4th-instar M. separata larvae, and inhibition effect increases as the increase of concentration ginsenoside.

Objective To discuss the methods and clinical effects of phased treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) combined with severe hip flexion contracture. Methods The study enrolled 8 cases (12 hips) of AS combined with severe hip flexion contracture hospitalized from September 2011 to November 2012.Phased treatments included lateral hip arthrolysis, articular capsulectomy, stripping of the reflected head of rectus femoris, femoral neck osteotomy, traction and stage Ⅱ biotype total hip arthroplasty (THA).Preoperative and postoperative Harris score, hip range of motion, and complication of femoral nerve injury were detected. Results Period of follow-up was 6-12 months (mean 10 months). One case developed heterotopic ossification, which affected postoperative hip activity and received resection one year later. One case sustained fissure fracture of calcar femorale during implantation of the prosthetic femoral stem, but no special handling was provided.Of all cases, active flexion and extension of the hip were both 0° before operation, but increased to (96.25 ± 4.33) ° and (24.17 ± 4.69)° respectively after operation ; mean Harris score was improved from (26.67 ± 2.39) points preoperatively to (90.92 ± 5.66) points postoperatively (P < 0.01).Besides,no femoral nerve injury was observed. Conclusion Phased treatment of AS combined with severe hip flexion contracture restores hip function and minimizes femoral nerve injury following THA.
