We analyzed the pathogenic characteristics of Salmonella strains isolated from diarrhea patients in Wuxi City,Jiangsu Province,China and compared the differences among pulse field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) patterns of main serotype strains,so as to provid scientific basis for disease control.After biochemical identification of the Salmonella strains isolated from infectious diarrhea patients in Wuxi in 2015,drug susceptibility test,serotyping and PFGE were applied to analyze these strains.Results showed that a total of 32 Salmonella strains were detected from 756 diarrhea specimens with a positive rate of 4.23 ％.The infection occurred more frequently between May and October and adults aged more than 60 years old affected mostly.There was no significant difference between genders in infected population.The drug susceptibility test indicated that the antibiotic resistance rate of these Salmonella strains to ampicillin (56.25 ％) was the highest,and to ciprofloxacin(6.25 ％)and Ceftazidime (6.25％) were the lowest.The 32 Salmonella strains belonged to 11 serotypes,and S.enteritidis(31.25％)and S.typhimurium(21.88％) were the predominant serotypes.PFGE showed that the pattern similarity of all S.enteritidis was more than 85 ％;PFGE patterns of S.typhimurium were different.In conclusion,the infection of Salmonella from diarrhea patients in Wuxi City had obvious season and age specific distribution,and the most prevalent serotype of Salmonella was the S.enteritidis.It is necessary to strengthen the surveillance of Salmonella concurrently in food and environment.

AlM: To compare the two methods for the measurement of glaucoma patients' intraocular pressure ( lOP) between Goldmann applanation tonometer ( GAT) and non-contact tonometer ( NCT) and find the laws of the two methods.?METHODS: The lOP of 108 glaucoma patients ( 206 eyes) were measured by GAT and NCT respectively.?RESULTS: ln 108 glaucoma patients, the average lOP of 206 eyes was 29. 77 ± 10. 27mmHg by GAT and 24. 59 ± 8. 58mmHg by NCT. There was significant difference between GAT and NCT (P<0. 01). The higher of lOP, the difference between GAT and NCT was greater.?CONCLUSlON: The measurement results with NCT were lower than that of GAT. The higher of lOP, the difference between GAT and NCT was greater. lt's better to measure lOP by GAT for the glaucoma patients, in order to avoid the misdiagnosis and mistreatment of glaucoma.

AlM:To evaluate the clinic efficacy of protein-free calf blood extract ophthalmic gel on healing children dry eye.METHODS: One hundred patients ( 50 patients each group) with children dry eye were divided into two groups randomly: control group was dropped 1g/L sodium hyaluronate eye drop four times per day and experimental group was dropped protein-free calf blood extract ophthalmic gel four times per day. Both groups received the depathogeny treatment at the same time. Symptom scores, Schirmer l test values, tear break-up time ( BUT ) , cornea fluorescein staining scores were recorded on the prior treatment and 30d post-treatment, then they were analyzed.
RESULTS:There were statistically significant difference (P<0. 05) for the comparison in the symptom scores, Schirmer l test values, BUT, cornea fluorescein staining scores of prior treatment and post-treatment in each groups. And there were statistically significant difference (P<0. 05) in the same items of post-treatment between the two groups.
CONCLUSlON: There is a clearly beneficial effect of protein-free calf blood extract ophthalmic gel on healing children dry eye.

Objective To investigate the expression of transforming growth factor?1(TGF-?1)in human colorectal carcinoma and its value for predicting the prognosis.Methods The expression of TGF-?1 and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)was measured in specimens of 52 coloreetal cancers by immunohistoehemistry.The features of clinical pathology were analyzed and the follow-up of all patients were conducted.The correlation between the expression of TGF-?1 and the survival time was studied with Log-rank test.Results Of 52 patients,no expression of TGF-?1 and VEGF was observed in 11 and 14 patients,and the expression was noticed in 41 and 38 patients,respectively.There was a signifi- cant positive correlation between expression of TGF-?1 and expression of VEGF(x~2＝0.633,P＜0.01). Furthermore,the expression of TGF-?1 was significantly correlated with Dukes staging(x~2＝19.866,P＜0.01)and metastasis of lymph nodes(x~2＝13.152,P＜0.01).The 3-year overall survival rates(OSR)in all patients was 49.1% and the 3-year OSR of patients with and without expression of TGF-?1 were 20.5% and 69.2% respectively(x~2＝11.64,P＝0.0006).Conclusion The expression of TGF-?1 could be served as an important predicator for prognosis of coloreetal carcinoma.

AIM:To observe the structural basis of ocular motility abnormalities in patients with congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscles type Ⅰ ( CFEOM Ⅰ) due to missense mutations in the developmental kinesin KIF21A using high - resolution magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI) .
METHODS: Totally 11 affected individuals reported KIF21A mutations were correlated with MRI studies demonstrating extraocular muscles ( EOMs ) size, location, contractility, and innervation. EOMs and the motor nerve in the orbits were imaged with T1 weighted in a triplanar scan using a dual-phased coils with 2. 0mm thick. Motor nerves were imaged at the brainstem using head coils and 3D-FIESTA with 0. 6-mm thick.
RESULTS: Patients with CFEOM Ⅰ exhibited different degrees of hypoplasia of oculomotor nerve, the abducens nerve and the trochlear nerve were also affected, of which 8 cases of orbital section could see the signal of abnormal nerve dominated by oculomotor nerve to lateral rectus. The both sides of six EOMS in all patients exhibited variable atrophy and abnormal bright internal signal on T1 imaging, particularly severe for the superior rectus and levator muscles.
CONCLUSION: High - resolution MRI can directly demonstrate pathology of motor nerves,affected EOMs, and ‘Pulley' hypoplasia caused by CFEOM Ⅰ due to mutations in KIF21A,and these findings suggest that the neuronal hypoplasia is the etiological factor of CFEOM.

Proteins extracted from two varieties of Chinese roses leaves were separated by two- dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2-DE) with immobilized pH gradient (IPG). Many difference proteins were isolated with molecular weights ranging 10-30 kDa and pI5-6. Three proteins of high levels observed in a gel were excised and identified using peptide mass fingerprinting and MS-MS. A summary of the identified proteins and their putative functions are presented. They are identified as eIF-5A、LEA protein and Hsp17. 5. Functions of these proteins in plant tolerance to high temperature were discussed.

Objective To clarify whether the +869T/C polymorphism in the transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) gene is associated with TGF-β1 expression,and involved in the severity of Graves disease(GD) and Hashimoto's thyroiditis(HT).Methods The TGF-β1+869T/C polymorphism was genotyped by using PCR-sequence specific primers(PCR-SSP) in genomic DNA samples in blood from 158 patients with HT who developed hypothyroidism before they were 45 years old (severe HT) and 125 untreated,euthyroid patients with HT who were older than 45(mild HT).Using the same method,129 euthyroid patients with GD who had been under treatment and were still positive for anti-thyrotropin receptor antibodies (intractable GD) and 130 euthyroid patients with GD in remission and 144 healthy controls were examined.Results It had no difference between GD,HT groups and control group (x2 =1.488,0.439; 0.626,0.005; all P ＞ 0.05 ).The frequency of the TT genotype and the T allele were higher in group with severe HT[34.81％(55/158),58.86％( 186/316)] than in those with mild HT[ 17.60％ (22/125),43.60％ (109/250); x2 =14.040,13.026,all P ＜ 0.05].In contrast,the frequency of the CC genotype was higher in group with intractable GD[ (21.03％(31/129),51.16％(132/258)] than in group with GD in remission[ 13.85％ (18/130),40.38％( 105/260); x2 =12.225,6.061,all P ＜ 0.05 ].TGF-β1 +869 T/C genotype had the correlation with severe groups of HT and GD.C allele would increase in severity of GD(OR =1.546,95％ CI =0.192 - 2.190),and T allele would increase in severity of HT(OR =1.851,95％ CI =1.323 - 2.589).Conclusion The +869T/C polymorphism in the TGF-β1 gene is associated with the severity and intractability of autoimmune thyroid disease.

OBJECTIVEDetection HBV DNA among HBsAg negative children who have been vaccined at birth, in order to improve the evaluation of the indicator for HBV DNA infection.

METHODSSelection HBsAg negative children who have been vaccined at birth and then detection HBV DNA from sera using QIAamp Viral DNA Mini Kit, HBV DNA s region was obtained by nested PCR and sequencing.

RESULTS12 of the 140 children were HBV DNA detected were positive and the infectious rate was 8.6% . No mutant of the 12 HBV DNA in "a" determinant.

CONCLUSIONTo evaluate the effection of the prevention of HBV mother-to-child transmission, the standard method should be established. The detection of HBV DNA should be included in the future.
