Objectives To investigate the process and the result of the repair of the sciatic nerve in rat by chitosan tube and polyglycolic fiber Methods The left sciatic nerves of rats were transected with 10 mm gap, then repaired with the nerve grafts in combination of NRF Walking track analysis, immunohistochemical and transmission electron microscopic examinations were carried out at different time after the operation Results Fibrous membrane and capillary could be observed on the surface of the grafts at the first week after the operation; at the 4th week, the regenerated nerve fibers grew more than half of the distances of the gap; at the 8th week, regenerated nerve fibers overcame the gap, many myelinated nerve fibers and thick myelin sheathes could be observed; at the 16th week, the grafts almost degraded and were substituted by the regenerated nerve Walking track analysis showed that sciatic nerve function recovery appeared at the 8th week, and that at the 16th week, approximately 60% of the sciatic nerve function was recovered Conclusion The nerve graft with NRF can stimulate the growth of vessels and the formation of the fibrous membrane, and is useful to the migration of Schwann cells and regeneration of axons, and degrade after the nerve regeneration

Transforming growth factor-?_1 (TGF-?_) mRNA or protein expression in renal cortex of diabetic rats was assessed by real-time quantitative RT-PCR with SYBR Green,immunohistochemistry or Western blot.After melatonin treatment,the expressions of TGF-?_1 mRNA and protein were decreased,suggesting that beneficial effect of melatonin may result from its antioxidative property and inhibiting TGF-?_1 expressions.

ObjectiveReport an operation of off-pump occlusion of trans-thoracic minimal invasive surgery (OPOTTMIS) adopted on the therapy of 92 patients suffered with simple congenital heart diseases (CHD) of atrial septal defect ( ASD),ventricular septal defect ( VSD ) and patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and summarize the experiences.Methods The clinical data of 92 CHD patients administrated with OPOTTMIS in our hospital during the time of July 2008 and July 2011 were analyzed retrospectively.Moreover,the relevant literatures were reviewed and the different kinds of treatments and their outcomes of CHD were compared.These patients were 3-56 years old and weighed 8.0-54.5 kg,with male and female 38 and 54 cases,including ASD 52 cases,VSD 26 cases and PDA 14 cases,respectively.Within the initial 3 months of postoperation,all the patients were followed up and managed to take the re-examination with electrocardiogram and echocardiogram one time for each month,and 3 months later,at least one time for every 3-6 months.Results91 cases were performed the OPTTMIS procedure successfully,1 child with sieve-like ASD transferred to open-heart surgery and 1 adult( 1.1％ ) PDA died on the second day after operation for the pulmonary hypertension crisis.4 cases appeared mild residual shunt including 2 of ASD,1 of VSD and 1 of PDA.2 cases showed Ⅱ stage atrial ventricular block ( AVB ) within ASD and VSD,respectively.Also,post-operation hemothorax happened to 1 case ASD and 1 case VSD for the active bleeding of cardiac puncture site and the exploration and hemostatic operation were performed.91 (98.9％) patients were performed the OPOTTMIS operation successfully,the total complications within 72 hours was 6.5％ (6/92),respectively.There were no heavy complications happened during peri-operation such as cardiac rupture,infective endocarditis,stroke,hemolytic and thrombus formation.90 patients outcomes of 3 months to 4 years follow-up with the ECG and UCG examination showed that there were no Ⅲ stage atrioventricular block,no obvious occluder shift and broken and no moderate cardiac valve regurgitation,no evident blood flow restriction of left ventricular outflow tract and descending aorta,only found mild residual shunt within 2 cases ( VSD and PDA each) and heart expansion compared to pre-operation within 2 PDA patients.However,all the patients'heart functions were in grade Ⅰ to grade Ⅱ according to NYHA standard.ConclusionOPOTTMIS is a safe,feasible and effective option on simple congenital heart diseases.

Objective To detect the impact of reactive oxygen species ( ROS) on mitochondrial morphology and distri-bution during mitosis.Methods A viral vector in which the fluorescence gene was specifically under the control of mito-chondrial promoter was constructed and confirmed through DNA sequencing and Western blotting.After transfecting HeLa s3 cell with packaged virus, the HeLa s3-COX4tp-EGFP cell line stably expressing the mitochondrial fluorescence signal was obtained.With immunofluorescent staining, the impact of ROS on the morphology and distribution of mitochondria dur-ing mitosis was inspected.Result The cell line constantly expressing mitochondrial fluorescence signals was successfully constructed.Meanwhile,it was found that H2 O2 treatment could significantly change the morphology and distribution of mi-tochondria during mitosis by confocal microscopy.Conclusion Our study demonstrates that ROS can affect the morphology and distribution of mitochondria during mitosis.This research help study the relationship between the mitochondrial function and the regulation of mitosis in the future.

Objective:To explore the expression level of IL-17,IL-23 in patients with allergic rhinitis (AR) and their clinical significance.Methods:A total of 25 patients with AR were treated as observe group , and 23 healthy volunteers were chosen as the control group.The levels of serum IL-17,IL-23 and specific-IgE ( s-IgE) were compared between the two groups.The relationships among serum IL-17,IL-23 and sIgE in patients with AR were discussed.Results:The levels of IL-17,IL-23 and sIgE in observe group were significantly higher than in control group.There was a positive linear correlation between the IL-17 and IL-23/the IL-23 and sIgE/the sIgE and IL-17 in observe group.Conclusion: The IL-17 , IL-23 might be the two important cytokine in the occurrence and development process of allergic rhinitis.The IL-17,IL-23 might be related to the formation of sIgE.

Objective To study the iodine nutritional status of population living in Tibetan pastoral areas,in order to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control of iodine deficiency disorders.Methods Drinking water samples were collected to test iodine content in agricultural town(Kajiaman) and pastoral area(Zuogaiduoma town) of Hezuo in Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture.Thirty of child-bearing age,pregnant and breastfeeding women were selected,respectively,and 90 male adults aged 20-50 from these families(1 from each family) and 90 children aged 8-10 (30 people in each age group) from local schools were randomly sampled at the same time,and urinary iodine (UI) was measured randomly.Edible salt and main food samples were collected to test iodine content from the 10 families of the three types of women,respectively,and they were asked to recall its family intake of food species in the past 24 h excluding spices.The water iodine was determined using arseniccerium redox method (GB/T 5750.1-2006) ; UI with ammonium persulfate digestion-arsenic cerium catalytic spectrophotometric method (WS/T 107-2006) ; salt iodine used direct determination method(GB/T 13025.7-1999); and food iodine with alkali the gray arsenic cerium contact colorimetry.All these work were done in May,2011.Results The average of water iodine was (1.63 ± 0.14)μg/L in agricultural areas and (2.08 ±1.90)μg/Lin pastoral areas of the 10 water samples tested,respectively.The median urinary iodine(MUI) among women of pregnant,lactating and child-bearing age,male adults and children was 141.99,126.65,253.33,258.07,191.0μg/L,respectively,in agricultural areas and 137.26,97.36,126.16,159.48,285.07 μg/L,respectively,in pastoral areas.The difference of MUI in lactating,male adults and children between pastoral and agricultural areas was statistically significant.The proportion of UI ＜ 50 μg/L was less than 20％,and ＜ 100 μg/L was less than 50％ among all population except lactating woman and pregnant women in pastoral areas.The iodized salt coverage rate was 100％(30/30) in agricultural areas and 90％(27/30) in pastoral areas,and the salt iodine was (32.1 ± 7.8)mg/kg in agricultural areas and (32.3 ± 6.0)mg/kg in pastoral areas,respectively.The food structure in agricultural areas was mainly potato,naked oat fruit,cabbage and so on,the average dietary iodine content was 285.7 μg/kg,and in pastoral areas was mainly chow mein,wheat flour,ghee,yogurt,barley and so on,the average dietary iodine content was 51.1 μg/kg.Conclusions There is no iodine deficiency in general in the population in Tibetan areas with low water iodine.However,iodine nutrition of pregnant women can not be guaranteed.It is recommended that classified guidance measures be taken to ensure the sustainable elimination of iodine deficiency disorders in the Tibetan minority areas.

OBJECTIVE: To study the methods and efficacy of comprehensive treatment on retractory chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS). METHOD: Thirty-two cases of patients with refractory rhinosinusitis took part in individualized comprehensive treatment program, that is, a healthy diet and moderate exercise, psychological counseling, and reasonable operation and gauze changing, and rational use of drug therapy. RESULT: All patients were followed up for 6 months or more, 26 cases (81.3%) were completely controlled of the disease, 6 cases (18.7%) were partially controlled; the total effective rate was 100%. CONCLUSION In the current situation that CRS etiology and pathogenesis studies have not yet made a breakthrough, and we have not developed a new and effective drug, comprehensive treatment focusing on internal and external factors of refractory rhinosinusitis at the same time, that is, to take a rational healthy diet, moderate exercise, psychological counseling, and reasonable operation and gauze changing, and rational use of drug therapy ect. can obtain better effect.

BackgroundThe three-dimensional configuration of the nasolacrimal canal is highly variable with age,gender,and race.But enlargement of the nasolacrimal canal has sparsely been reported in the literature.Objective Computed tomography dacryocystography was performed in patients with unilateral congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction and normal children to analyze the difference of bilateral nasolacrimal canal.MethodsThis is a retrospective study.Axial scanwith sagittalandcoronalreconstructionwas appliedin computedtomography dacryocystography.Diameters of bilateral nasolacrimal canal of 20 unilateral congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction patients and 20 normal children were measured.Written informed consent was obtained from each child ' s parents before examination.ResultsThe lacrimal sac,nasolacrimal duct and the peripheral tissue were clearly exhibited by computed tomography dacryocystography.The diameters of the origination,the middle part and the distal end of affected nasolacrimal duct were(5.5±1.4),(5.3±1.2),(5.3±1.6) mm,and normal ones were(3.9±0.8 ),(3.5± 0.8 ),( 3.9± 1.3 ) mm,respectively.These results were statistically significant ( t =5.200,6.967,2.932,P＜ 0.05 ).There was no statistically significant difference in bilateral nasolacrimal canal of normal children (t =0.346,0.281,0.312,P＞0.05 ).Conclusions Computed tomography dacryocystography can image lacrimal passage and their peripheral tissues clearly.The affected nasolacrimal canal diameters of unilateral congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction were much larger than the fellow sides.The pathogenesis of this phenomenon need much research.

Objective A prospective randomized controlled trial was carried out to explore the best time of In-domethacin suppositories administration for the prevention of post-ERCP pancreatitis in high-risk groups. Methods 81 patients were enrolled in the study finally. Patients were randomized into group A (100 mg rectal Indomethacin suppositories was administrated immediately after ERCP), group B (100 mg rectal Indomethacin suppositories was administrated half an hour after ERCP) and group C (ERCP alone group, which did not give Indomethacin supposito-ries). The level of serum amylase, urine amylase, serum CRP, serum IL-6, serum TNF-α were measured before, 3 h, 24 h and 48 h after ERCP, and the incidence of PEP and hyperamylasemia were analyzed. Results There was 1 case (4.00%) of PEP in group A, 2 cases (5.41%) of PEP in group B and 5 cases (26.31%) of PEP in group C;the incidences of PEP of group A and group B were significant lower than that in group C (P < 0.05). There was 1 case (4.00%) of hyperamylasemia in group A, 5 cases (13.51 %) of hyperamylasemia in group B and 6 cases (31.6 %) of hyperamylasemia in group C, and the incidences of hyperamylasemia of group A and group B were significant lower than that in group C ( P< 0.05). Conclusion Administration of 100 mg Indomethacin suppositories immediately or half an hour after ERCP can effectively reduce the incidence of PEP and hyperamylasemia.
