Objective To compare the safety,effectiveness and predictability of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) with fem- tosecond laser (IntraLase) and mechanical microkeratome (Moria M2,head 90?m).Design Prospective clinical study.Participant 148 patients (274 eyes) with high myopia received operation of LASIK.Method The patients were assigned to receiving LASIK with corneal flap creation by Intralase femtosecond laser (134 eyes of 76 patients) or Moria 90 keratome (140 eyes of 72 patients),both groups receiving eximer laser ablation with VISX Star S4.Followed-up examinations such as visual acuity,refraction,wavefront aberra- tion,etc.were scheduled for 1 day,1 week,1 month and 3 months postoperatively.Main Outcome Measures Visual acuity,refrac- tion,wavefront aberration,Schirmer test and tear film breakup time(BUT).Results At 3 months after operation,108 eyes (80.6%) of IntraLase group had UCVA better than or equal to BSCVA preoperatively,showing no statistically significant difference to microker- atome group (116 eyes,82.9%,P=0.642).The mean residual spheroequivalent of refraction of IntraLase group was -0.49?0.70D,show- ing no statistically significant difference to microkeratome group (-0.56?0.83D,P=0.448).The mean Schirmer test of Intralase group was 9.5?4.0mm,showing no statistically significant difference to microkeratome group (9.5?7.2mm,P=0.950).The mean BUT of IntraLase group was 7.9?4.3s,showing no statistically significant difference to microkeratome group (8.08?5.48s,P=0.869).The postoperative higher-order aberrations of the IntraLase group was 0.480?0.133?m,lower than that of microkeratome group (0.578?0.169?m,P=0.034). Conclusions Thin-flap LASIK with femtosecond laser and mechanical keratome flap creation are both safe,effective for the correction of high myopia,showing good predictability and stability.Femtosecond laser has slightly better clinical outcomes than microkeratome.

This study aims to explore and analyze the condition of concurrent diseases and medicine use of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and western medicine among the patients with insomnia. One thousand and sxity seven cases of data from 20 national hospitals' hospital information system (HIS) databases were collected. The frequent concurrent diseases included hypertension (26.9%), brain blood supply insufficiency (24.93%), cerebral infarction (19.49%), blood lipoprotein disturbance (15.28%), coronary heart disease (14.15%), headache (10.68%), chronic gastritis (8.81%), type 2 diabetes mellitus (7.87%), depressive disorder (7.4%) and anxiety disorder (6.65%). The 10 most frequently-used western drugs included alprazolam (35.99%), aspirin (25.4%), olanzapine (24.18%), cinepazide (23.06%), flupentixol & melitracen (18.74%), zolpidem (18.37%), oxiracetam (15.65%), estazolam (15%), aniracetam (13.4%) and piracetam (13.31%). The 10 most frequently-used TCM included Shuxuening injection (16.4%), Shuxuetong injection (15.18%), extract of ginkgo biloba leaf (14.71%), gastrodin (12.46%), Dengzanxixin injection (11.34%), Xueshuantong (8.53%), Danhong injection (6.37%), compound liquorice tablet (5.81%), Sanqi Tongshu capsule (5.72%) and sowthistle-leaf ixeridium injection (5.34%). Among all combined uses, the most frequent western drug use was alprazolam and olanzapine, while combined use of hypnotic drug and Huoxuehuayu formula is the most frequent. This study concludes that the concurrent diseases mainly include cardio-cerebrovascular diseases, metabolic disorders and anxiety-depression disorders, with increasing tendency of diseases types by ages, especially for cardio-cerebrovascular diseases. Objective The CYP19 gene product enzyme aromatase mediates the conversion of the androgen testosterone to es -tradiol.The aim of this study is to investigate whether the CYP19A1 gene single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) is associated with the susceptibility to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and serum hormone levels. Methods We conducted a case-controlled study, which included 373 PCOS patients and 313 healthy controls.We genotyped SNP rs2899470 in the subjects using the polymerase chain re-action-restriction fragment length polymorphism ( PCR-RFLP) method and analyzed the frequencies of genotypes and alleles as well as the association of different genotypes with age , menarchal age, body mass index (BMI), and serum levels of hormones. Results The gen-otypic distributions of rs2899470 GG, TG, and TT in the PCOS women were 44.5%, 49.6%, and 5.9%, respectively, significantly dif-ferent from 39.3%, 48.6%, and 12.1%in the healthy controls (P=0.013).The frequency of the G allele was 69.3%in the former, remarkably higher than 63.6%in the latter (P=0.025).The rs2899470 genotypic frequencies were associated with the serum E 2/T lev-els in the PCOS patients. Objective To explore the treatment methods of periprosthetic femur fracture after hip arthroplasty.Methods 9 patiens with periprosthetic femur fracture after hip arthroplasty were selected.According to Vancouver classification,there were 1 case in A type,5 cases in B1 type,2 cases in B2 type,1 case in C type.One case were treated by nonoperative method and the other 8 cases were treated by operative method,including 5 cases treated by memory alloy embracing fixator and internal fixation,3 cases treated by long stem prosthetic replacement and iliac bone graft.Results 8 cases were followed up for 8 to 21 months,average 14.2 months.All fractures were united well with good alignment and internal fixation failure except one prosthesis loosing was observed.Conclusion For periprosthetic femur fracture after hip arthroplasty,Vancouver classification methods include the location and stability of the fracture,prosthesis loosening,and the femur in bone mass is importance to the clinical treatment.As to A type fracture,prosthesis is stable,and the conservative treatment can be choosed.As to B1 and B2 type fracture,the aggressive surgical treatment can be choosed based on patients' general condition.If prosthesis loosening after artificial hip arthroplasty,the patients should treated with long stem prosthetic replacement.
