AIM:To compare the influence of anterior chamber maintainer and viscoelastic agent on corneal astigmatism and endothelial cells after phacoemulsification.METHODS:Totally 70 patients(70 eyes) of cataract from April 2013 to April 2015 were randomly divided into the study group and the control group, with 35 cases in each group.The study group were treated with anterior chamber maintainer during phacoemulsification with support system approach, and the control group were treated with phacoemulsification under viscoelastic agent.RESULTS:The age (t=0.215, P=0.831), the density of corneal endothelial cells (t=-0.352, P=0.726) and corneal luminosity (t=-0.162, P=0.872) of two groups had no significant difference before surgery;there were no significant difference in preoperative visual acuity (t=0.463, P=0.599) and visual acuity (t=1.616, P=0.124) at 1mo after operation.And patients in the study group (t=-21.129, P<0.01) and the control group (t=-12.780, P<0.01) before surgery and 1mo postoperative when compared with the naked eye eyesight showed significant difference.The visual acuity after operations improved significantly.There were significant differences of corneal endothelial cells density (t=8.489, P< 0.01) and corneal astigmatism (t=-2.032, P=0.046) in the study group before surgery and 1mo after surgery;corneal endothelial cell density (t=8.999, P<0.01) and corneal astigmatism (t=-2.167, P=0.034) in the control group before surgery and 1mo after surgery also had significant differences.There was no significant difference in the rate of corneal endothelial cell loss between the two groups (t=0.410, P=0.683).CONCLUSION:Compared with viscoelastic agent, anterior chamber maintainer during phacoemulsification in patients with cataract won't increase the damage of postoperative surgically induced astigmatism and corneal endothelial cells, which mean the method of anterior chamber maintainer during phacoemulsification in the treatment of cataract is safe and effective.

Objective To Analyze the effect of community-based integrative intervention on hypertension.Methods Among six residential areas,randomly chose four as the intervention group and the another two as the control group.Then a synthetical intervention was carried out to the intervention group,but no measures to the control.Results In the intervention group,the patients' systolic and diastolic pressure were eventually lower by 5.25 mm Hg than the datum line.The final result was obviously different from the datum line(P0.05).Conclusion The community-based integrated intervention plays a great role in the control of high blood pressure.

The Baculoviridae are a large family of enveloped DNA viruses exclusively pathogenic to arthropods. Baculoviruses have been extensively used in insect cell-based recombinant protein expression system and as biological pesticides. They have been deomostrated to be safe to mammals, birds and fish. Recently, baculoviruses has been shown to transduce different mammalian cells in spite of the fact that they cannot replicate in mammalian cells (11, 73, 76). This has resulted in the development of baculoviruses as mammalian expression systems and even as vestors for gene therapy.

Mouret abscess is a rare extracranial complication of suppurative otitis media. It is generally believed to be a deep neck abscess caused by inflammation leading to the rupture of the bony tip of the mastoid tip. The location of Mouret abscess is deep. The symptoms are insidious at the onset, but may eventually spread to the surrounding tissue, and even lead to mediastinal abscess, cavernous sinus thrombosis, meningitis, dyspnea and other serious complications. At present, with the popularization of antibiotics, the occurrence rate of Mouret abscess is very low, and only sporadic cases have been reported.In this paper, a case of Mouret abscess caused by cholesteatoma was analyzed to explore Mouret abscess in terms of the route of infection, clinical manifestations, imaging features, diagnosis and treatment.

Objective To discuss the X-ray appearances of osteogenesis imperfecta.Methods The clinical and radiological manifestations of osteogenesis imperfecta in 10 child-patients were studied retrospectively.Results ①The change of osseous density:generalized osteoporosis with abnormal fragility of bone;②According to the abnormal contour of limbs bone,the patterns of lesions(10 cases) were categorized to four subtypes including long and thin type(3 cases),stumpy type(3 cases),pocketed and swelled lesions(2 cases) and blended appearances(2 cases);③Among the 10 cases,the lesions complicated by arthropathy were seen in 5 cases;④complicated by abnormal spines in 5 cases,pelvis deformity in 3 cases,chest deformity in 4 cases.Conclusion Radiological manifestations have certain clinical value in the diagnosis and typing of osteogenesis imperfecta.

Objective To study the effect of exogenous non secreted human urokinase type plasminogen activator(uPA) gene on the production of collagen in activated hepatic stellate cells(HSC) after delivery by replication deficient recombinant adenovirus vector. Methods Non secreted human uPA was inserted into the replication deficient recombinant adenoviruses AduPA in bacteria. After infected by AduPA, the expression of uPA in HSC cell line HSC T6 was detected by Northern blot and immunocytochemical staining, and the level of matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP 2) in the supernatant of cultured HSC T6 cells was measured by ELISA. In addition, immunocytofluorescent staining was carried out to evaluate the effect of AduPA on the production of collagen Ⅰ and Ⅲ in HSC after exogenous uPA gene delivery. Results 5?10 11 efu/ml titer of AduPA was obtained in the HSC infected with the recombinated virus. Northern blot and immunocytochemical staining showed that the expression of uPA in HSC increased significantly on the third day after infection with the AduPA. BACKGROUND: There has been increasing attention in the study of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (ALS)and bone metabolism, which is accompanied by osteopenia and osteoporosis. Interleukin(IL) -6, a cytokine that strongly promotes bone resorption, participates in the regulation of bone metablism.OBJECTIVE: To explore the relationship between changes of bone mineral density(BMD) and serum IL-6 content in AIS.DESIGN: A controlled non-randomized concurrent study involving patients with AIS and and healthy volunteers.SETTING: The clinic and wards of the department of spinal surgery of a university-affiliated hospital.PARTICIPANTS: Thirty-six patients with AIS(6 males and 30 females aged 12 to 18 years) were treated in the Department of Spinal Surgery, Drum Tower Hospital, Medical College of Nanjing University from July to October 2003, who had a Cobb angle ranging from 34° - 109° and curvature of the thoracic spine. Thirty-six healthy adolescent volunteers(7 males and 29 females within the range of 13 - 18 years old) served as the control group.METHODS: The BMD was measured at L2- L4 and the proximal femur;(including the femoral neck, greater trochanter and Ward' s triangle) by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and serum IL-6 determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① BMD of the lumbar spine and femur ② Comparison of serum IL-6 content of all the subjects.RESULTS: The BMD of AIS patients at L2- L4, femoral neck, greater trochanter and Ward' s triangle was 0.79±0. 12, 0.78±0. 12, 0.65± 0. 10, and 0. 69 ± 0. 13 g/cm2, respectively, all significantly lower than the corresponding measurements of the control group(1.09 ± 0. 11, 0.95 ± 0. 11,0. 78 ± 0. 10, and 0. 88 ± 0. 11 g/cm2, respectively, P ＜ 0. 001), whereas the serum IL-6 content in the patients was significantly higher than that in the control subjects ( P ＜ 0. 005). The changes of BMD at the lumbar spine and the three sites of femur were negatively correlated with serum IL-6 in AIS patients( P ＜ 0. 001 ), but not so in the control group( P ＞ 0.05).CONCLUSION: The BMD is decreased and serum IL-6 elevated in patients with AIS, and excessive secretion of IL-6 might be one of the important factors of osteopenia in AIS.

Objective:To evaluate effect of telephone follow-up combined with written instruction on compliance and Helicobacterpylori (H.pylori) eradication in patients with H.pylori infection.Methods:A total of 160 H.pylori positive patients were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group (n=80 in each group).Ml the patients got the guide instruction named the guidance of clinical medication for H.pylori infection patients before the treatment.The patients in the experimental group were added individualized follow-up with telephone.The compliance,eradication ofH.pylori,adverse events,and satisfaction were compared between the 2 groups.Results:The eradication rate of H.pylori in the perprotocol analysis for the experimental group and control group were 64.4％ (47/73) and 56.5％(35/62),respectively (P=0.380),while in the intention-to-treat analysis,the rates were 58.8％ (47/80) and 43.8％ (35/80,P=0.082),respectively.The compliance rate in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group (91.3％ vs 77.5％,P＜0.05).There was significant difference in patients' satisfaction in good ones (75.3％ vs 51.6％) and poor ones (5.5％ vs 21.0％) between the 2 groups (P＜0.05).There were 11 patients in the experimental group and 36 patients in the control group,who appeared adverse reactions such as nausea,bad breath,abdominal distention,poor appetite,and defecation habit change during the process of eradicating H.pylori,but the occurrence rate in the experimental group was obviously lower than that in the control group (15.1％ vs 58.1％,P＜0.05).Conclusion:The telephone follow-up cannot increase the H.pylori eradication rate,but it can improve compliance and satisfaction for the patients and relieve adverse effects.
