Treating different diseases with the same method is a unique original thinking in Chinese medicine, which embodies the spirit of treatment based on syndrome differentiation. We briefly reviewed the origin and development of this concept. We also reviewed that thinking of combination of disease and syndrome is its premise and foundation. We put forward the conditionality of diseases in treating different diseases with the same method by cutting-in modern biological basic researches, that is to say, one kind specific diseases or disease of one specific system. We emphasized the importance of diseases conditionality in treating different diseases with the same method, which was of great significance in studies on combination of disease and syndrome, correspondence of prescription and syndrome, and modern biological basic researches of treating different diseases with the same method.

OBJECTIVETo develop an HILIC method for determination of dencichine in Sanqi tablet and evaluate the quality of Sanqi tablet of different hatches from various manufactures in the market.
METHODThe chromatographic separation was conducted on a Thermo HILIC column (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm) kept at 25 degrees C with acetonitrile and 0.1% H3PO4 (60:40) as the mobile phase. The flow rate was set at 1 mL x min(-1) and the detection wavelength was set at 213 nm.
RESULTThe contents of dencichine in Sanqi tablet ranged from 1.60 to 4.31 mg x g(-1).
CONCLUSIONThe well established method was successfully applied to determine dencichine in Sanqi tablet. The results demonstrated that this method was simple, accurate and could be applied for quality control of Sanqi as well as its associated preparations.

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2018;38(6):840-844
MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are a class of highly conserved,endogenous,small,non-coding RNAs that reg-ulate RNAi and are key regulators of tumorigenesis and development.miR-338 is abnormally expressed in most tumors. Aberrant expression of miR-338 can affect the proliferation, invasion, metastasis, angiogenesis and other physiological activities of tumor cells and play a vital role in the regulation on one or more target-genes.

Objective To explore the risk factors in elderly type 2 diabetes mellitus with cerebral infarction. Methods Retrospective investigarion was performed on 148 elderly hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes. The patients were classified based on the presence or absence of cerebral infarction and compared with 60 controls.Logis- tic regression analysis was used to reveal the risk factors for cerebral infarction. Results The levels of systolic blood pressure(SBP),body mass index (BMI),fasting blood glucose (FBG),total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG) and plasma fibrinogen(Fg) were higher in the patients with cerebral infarction[141.15?17.46)mmHg,(23.81?3.53)kg/m~2,(8.82?2.81)mmol/L,(5.69?1.15)mmol/L,(2.08?0.75)mmol/L and (4.08?0.65)g/L] than those without cerebral infarction[(129.78?14.65) mmHg,(22.18?3.22)kg/m~2,(7.06?1.72 )mmol/L,(5.09?1.12)mmol/L,(1.62?0.43)mmol/L and (3.48?0.58)g/L].The logistic analysis showed COUR,SBP,FBG, TC,TG and Fg were the independent risk factors for cerebral infarction. Conclusion Early intervention of the inde- pendent risk factors including SBP,FBG,TC,TG and Fg in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes was important for reduction and postponement of cerebral infarction.

Objective To compare the effect of hollow screw and double suture anchors for the treatment of the intercondylar eminence fractures of tibia. Methods The data of 68 patients with intercondylar eminence fractures of tibia from January 2006 to January 2012 were retrospectively reviewed.33 patients of them received treatment of hollow screw,35 patients received double suture anchors. All patients had X-ray films before operation. After follow-up of 3,6,12 and 36 months, they all were examined by X-ray eminence in an appropriate position.Union time was from 6 to 12 weeks and evaluated by Lysholm system. Results After a follow-up for 24 to 43 months and the average period was 36 months.A total of 68 patients turned up.The outcome of treatment was evaluated on the basis of X-ray and clinical findings in hollow screw group and double suture anchors group.Union and average time was 8 weeks.During the follow-up time, clinical evaluation included the range of motion and knee joint stability was examined and no knee joint instability and abnormal activity were found.During the 3 months and 6 months, there were significant differences between hollow screw group and double suture anchors group (P > 0.05).But during the follow-up from 12 to 24 months, there were significant differences between hollow screw group and double suture anchors group (P>0.05) according to Lysholm system, clinical evaluation including range of motion and knee pain was examined and knee pain and abnormal activity were found in this two groups. Conclusion Clinical characteristics of patients and individual requirement should be considered comprehensively before an individual treatment choice is made for the treatment of the intercondylar eminence fractures of tibia.

Objective To explore the efficacy of endoscopic sphincterotomy with small incision combined with balloon dilatation (sEST+EPBD)in the treatment of patients with choledocholithiasis and juxtapapillary duodenal diverticula (JPDD).Methods From January 2011 to January 2015 ,149 patients with choledocholithiasis and JPDD who underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP)were enrolled.Among them,60 patients were in sEST+EPBD group and 89 were in endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST)group.Success rate of ERCP and first-time stone removal, changes of total bilirubin (TBil)and direct bilirubin (DBil)levels,as well as the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups were compared.Chi-square test or t-test was performed for statistical analysis. Results The ERCP success rate sEST+EPBD group was 100.0% (60/60),and the first-time success rate of stone removal was 91 .7%(55/60);correspondingly,ERCP success rate of EST group was 98.9%(88/89),and the success rate of first-time stone removal was 77.5 %(69/89).There was no statistically significant difference in success rate of ERCP between the two groups (χ2 =0.19,P =0.410).The first-time success rate of stone removal of sEST +EPBD group was higher than that of EST group, and the difference was statistically significant (χ2 =5 .53,P =0.020).After operation, the TBil level of sEST+
EPBD group was (152.62 ±109.04 )μmol/L,which was lower than that before operation ((266.02 ± 143.31)μmol/L),and the difference was statistically significant (t =4.88,P <0.01 ).After operation, the DBil level of sEST +EPBD group was (87.13 ±65 .90)μmol/L,which was lower than that before operation ((175 .70 ± 100.53 )μmol/L),and the difference was statistically significant (t = 5 .71 ,P <0.01).After operation, the TBil level of EST group was (251 .90 ±247.90)μmol/L,which was lower than that before operation ((340.20 ±176.20 )μmol/L),and the difference was statistically significant (t=2.74,P <0.05).After operation, the DBil level of EST group was (168.10±140.60)μmol/L,which was lower than that before operation ((228.40 ±139.60 )μmol/L),and the difference was statistically significant (t = 2.87,P = 0.005).The complication rate of sEST + EPBD group after operation was 8.3%(5/60),which was lower than that of EST group (20.2%,18/89 ),and the difference was statistically significant (χ2 =3.88,P =0.049 ).Conclusion sEST+EPBD could increase the first-time success rate of stone removal in patients with choledocholithiasis and JPDD,and it is a safe and effective treatment.
