Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
According to the requirements of ptobiotics, we have separated 13 strains of Lactobacillus from the content in gut of lactating piglet. Among them 3strains are L. acidophilus, one is L. casei, one is L. atenaforme and 8 strains are L. fermentum. They can resist 1.0% bile salt and the acidity of pH3.0, can inhibit pathogenic Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. They are safe and non-toxic to mice.

Limb-shaking transient ischemic attack (TIA), a rare manifestation, is commonly caused by severe
stenosis or occlusion of an extracranial internal carotid artery. Such patients are usually treated with
surgical revascularization or anti-platelet therapy. We present a 56-year-old woman with 6 months’
episodic attacks starting with mouth skewed to the right and a sensation of ‘weakness’ involving
predominantly her left arm, and at times, also involved the left leg. This was immediately followed by
rhythmic jerky movements of the left arm and at times, also involved the left leg. Magnetic resonance
angiography revealed severe stenosis of M1 segment of the right middle cerebral artery. The patient’s
symptoms were signifi cantly improved by treatment with anti-platelet drugs and nimodipine.

Objective To investigate the effects of siRNA targeting decoy receptor 3 on the cell proliferation of ovarian carcinoma cell CAOV3. Methods We constructed siRNA targeting decoy receptor 3,which was transfected into ovarian carcinoma cells CAOV3 , and observed the effects of DcR3 siRNA on the cell proliferation of CAOV3 cell by MTT experiment. The experiment contained 3 groups, including the normal control group (CAOV3 cell was not transfected), the negative control group (CAOV3 cell was transfected with blank vector) and the experimental group (CAOV3 cell was transfected with DcR3 siRNA). The expression levels of DcR3 mRNA were detected by Real-time PCR. Results DcR3 siRNA recognized and degraded DcR3 mRNA in CAOV3 cells of the experimental group. DcR3 mRNA of the experimental group was significantly decreased. The proliferation of CAOV3 cell was significantly decreased by DcR3 siRNA comparing with the normal control group and negative control group (P < 0.01). Conclusion DcR3 siRNA can inhibit the proliferation of ovarian cancer cell line CAOV3 by recognized and degraded DcR3 mRNA.

Objective To explore the risk factors for asthma in children. Methods A 1:1 matched and hospital-based case-control study was conducted to analyses risk factors for asthma in 300 pairs of children by logistic regression analysis. Results The result of univariate Logistic regression analysis showed that there were 17 related factors for children asthma, including disease history of parents in respiratory system, family income, atopie character, history of acute respiratory infections, eating habit, the amount of sea foods intakes, foam plastics, family decoration, the way of exhaust fume in kitchen, the exhaust effectiveness, raising pet in house, family history of asthma, family history of allergic rhinitis, family history of food allergy, dust allergy of parents, systemic therapy after the first attack. With multivariate Logistic regression analysis,7 factors were entered the model,6 risk factors including father's history of respiratory diseases(OR 3.771,95%CI 1.533~9.278),low family income(OR 1.503, 95%CI 1.258~1.795),atopy(OR 3.788,95%CI 2.368~6.058),meat-eating habit(OR 2.042,95%CI 1.481~2.815),asthma history of family members(OR 1.710,95%CI 0.988~2.958),the family history of allergic rhinitis(OR 1.991,95%CI 1.234~3.211), and 1 protective factor of raising pet in house(OR 0.443,95%CI 0.265~0.739).The coefficients of these factors in multivariate logistic regression model were 1.327、0.407、1.322、0.714、0.536、0.689、and-0.814 respectively. Conclusion Children asthma was a multi-factorial complex disease, and the interaction of environmental and genetic risk factors played an important role in the onset of this disease.

Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(07):-
Objective To investigate the safety and efficacy of transurethral plasmakinetic vaporization of prostate(PKVP)in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods Totally 180 BPH patients were treated with PKVP from January 2003 to December 2006.Results The weight of the resected prostatic tissue was)52.4? 26.8)g,operating period was)61.2?32.8)minutes,and the amount of bleeding was)70.1?46.3)ml.No transurethral resection syndrome(TURS)and obturator nerve reflex was observed. The patients were followed up for 1~25 months postoperatively, and the maximum urine flow(Qmax)was increased from)6.2?4.1)ml/s preopera- tively to)21.2?4.6)ml/s postoperatively;the international prostate symptom score(IPSS)was decreased from (25.6?4.8)points to)6.8?2.6)points;the residual urine volume was reduced from)67.8?27.3)ml to)17.5 ?7.3)ml;the quality of life(QOL)score was decreased from)5.1?1.5)to)1.8?0.5),and there were signifi- cant differences before and after operation(P

Objective To investigate whether the effect of rabeprazole in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease is related to CYP2C19 gene polymorphisms. Methods 278 patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease confirmed by endoscopy and proton-pump inhibitor testing were enrolled in this study, including non erosive reflux disease (NERD) in 122 cases, the reflux esophagitis (RE) in 98 cases and Barrett esophagus in 58 cases. They were treated with rabeprazole for 8 weeks.GerdQ scores before and after the treatment were completed, endoscopy was performed again in patients with RE after treatment. The blood CYP2C19 genotyping was detected by matrix assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrum(MALDI-TOF-MS).Results According to the genotype of CYP2C19,they were divided into extensive metabolizers, intermediate metabolizers and poor metabolizers, accounted for 39.57%,42.45% and 17.98%,respectively.There was no significant difference in GerdQ scores of three groups before treatment, and also had no significant difference after 8 weeks treatment, but in each subgroup GerdQ scores after treatment was decreased significantly than before treatment. The total effective rate of 98 patients with RE by endoscopy was 86.73%,but there was no significant difference in total effective rate of the three groups after treatment. Conclusion Rabeprazole is effective in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Moreover, rabeprazole is less affected by CYP2C19 genotype and therefore its curative effect is more stable.
