OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of supplementing qi and activating blood circulation method (YQHX) on platelet aggregation rate (PAgR), platelet adhesion rate (PAdR) and thromboxane B2(TXB2) level in patients with stable angina pectoris and intolerable to aspirin.
METHODSSeventy-six out-patients with stable angina (qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrom) pectoris intolerable to aspirin were randomized into two groups, 40 in the treated group and 36 in the control group. Both received conventional Western medicinal treatment with YQHX to the treated group additionally, for 1 month. PAgR, PAdR, TXB2 level, platelet count, hemoglobin concentration and fecal occult blood were measured before and 1 month after treatment, and the cardiac events as well as diges tive symptoms occurred in the observation period were recorded.
RESULTSPAgR, PAdR and TXB2 level lowered in the treated group after 1-month treatment showed a significant difference to those of baseline, and also to those in the control group (all P <0.01). But no significant difference was found between pre-treatment and post-treatment, also between the two groups in platelet count, hemoglobin concentration, fecal figure and incidence of adverse cardiac events, as well as digestive symptoms (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONYQHX can effectively inhibit the platelet function in patients with stable angina pectoris without aggravation of digestive symptoms. Cardiac event reducing effect of YQHX was not seen in this study, it is necessary for large sampled study for confirmation.

Objective In our previous study,we established DNA microarray technology for identification of medical viruses on genus levels and arboviruses on species levels. In this study,we employed these microarrays to determine the pathogen of newly isolated unknown virus in July,2006 from pig brain in Shanxi province. Methods The pathogen isolated from pig brains were inoculated in BHK21 cells. After CPE were observed, the supernatants were collected and RNA was extracted. After reverse transcription and random PCR amplification, the labeled nucleic acids were hybridized with DNA microarrays. Results The hybridization results with medical viruses DNA microarray indicated that the unknown virus belonged to Flavivirus.Combined with epidemiological investigation,we presumed that it might be a kind of arbovirus. Then the labeled specimen were further hybridized with arbovirus DNA microarray and the results confirmed that it was Japanese encephalitis virus(JBV).This coincided with PCR and sequencing analysis. Conclusions The DNA microarray we established previously could be employed to identify unknown viruses. This method provides a new method for determining new viral pathogens.

Objective:
To understand the correlation between physical activity (PA) and socioeconomic status (SES) among Chinese children and adolescents, and to provide theoretical basis for physical activity promotion for Chinese children and adolescents.
Methods:
By using stratified random cluster sampling, a total of 4 269 children and adolescents aged 7 to 18 were selected from six cities in China from September to December 2018. Physical Activity Level Evaluation Questionnaire of Chinese Children and Adolescents Aged 7 to 18 was used to investigate PA and SES, and the height and weight were measured.
Methods:
In terms of different intensity of PA, the time spent on light intensity physical activity(LPA), moderate intensity physical activity(MPA), moderate to vigorous physical activity(MVPA)and total physical activity(TPA) in low SES group was 28.5(6.9,57.1) min/d, 46.2 (25.7,79.2) min/d, 61.4(34.3,101.9) min/d and 102.9(65.0,145.8)min/d respectively, which was higher than that in middle SES groups [ 21.4 (4.3,50.7), 37.1(18.6,65.7), 50.3(27.1,86.8), 85.7(49.3,127.1) min/d] and high SES groups [24.3( 5.0 ,54.3), 40.0(21.4,69.1), 54.3(32.9,91.4), 89.6(55.7,132.9) min/d]( P <0.01). In terms of different types of PA, the traffic PA [40.0(15.0,68.6) min/d] and entertainment PA[4.3(0,17.1)min/d] accounted the highest proportion in low SES group, while sports PA [36.4(20.7,60.7) min/d] accounted the highest proportion in high SES group( P <0.01).The compliance rates of MVPA in low, middle and high SES groups were 51.1%, 42.5% and 45.2%, respectively, and the differences were statistically significant ( χ 2= 22.02 , P <0.05). After controlling for confounding factors, the detection rate of MVPA in the low SES group was 1.24 times higher than that in the high SES group ( P <0.01).
Conclusion
The MVPA and TPA time of children and adolescents with middle SES group were the lowest. Physical activities spent on traffic and entertainment account highest in low SES group, while physical activities spent on sports account highest in high SES group.

OBJECTIVE: This study was conducted to assess the feasibility of performing 100-kVp electrocardiogram (ECG)-gated coronary CT angiography, as compared to 120-kVp ECG-gated coronary CT angiography. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We retrospectively evaluated one hundred eighty five gender- and body mass index-matched 16-slice coronary CT sets of data, which were obtained using either 100 kVp and 620 effective mAs or 120 kVp and 500 effective mAs. The density measurements (image noise, vessel density, signal-to-noise ratio [SNR] and contrast-to-noise ratio [CNR]) and the estimated radiation dose were calculated. As a preference test, two image readers were independently asked to choose one image from each pair of images. The results of both protocols were compared using the paired t-test or the Wilcoxon signed rank test. RESULTS: The 100-kVp images showed significantly more noise and a significantly higher vessel density than did the 120-kVp images. There were no significant differences in the SNR and CNR. The estimated reduction of the radiation dose for the 100-kVp protocol was 24%; 7.8 +/- 0.4 mSV for 100-kVp and 10.1 +/- 1.0 mSV for 120-kVp (p < 0.001). The readers preferred the 100-kVp images for reading (reader 1, p = 0.01; reader 2, p = 0.06), with their preferences being stronger when the subject's body mass index was less than 25. CONCLUSION: Reducing the tube kilovoltage from 120 to 100 kVp allows a significant reduction of the radiation dose without a significant change in the SNR and the CNR.

Aim To investigate the effect of taurine-magnesium coordination compound (TMCC) on elec-trocardiogram of isolated guinea pig hearts, hoping to describe a primary research on its characteristic of anti-short QT syndrome. Methods The isolated guinea pig heart was retrograde perfused using Langendorff tech-nique. In order to determine the effects of TMCC on QT interval, transmural dispersion of repolarization, effective refractory period, instability of RR interval and instability of QT interval in the presence of potassi-um channel opener pinacidil, the electrocardiogram of isolated guinea pig hearts was recorded using Biopac physiological recorder. Results The shortened QT in-terval and the effective refractory period induced by pinacidil could be prolonged by TMCC; the increased transmural dispersion of repolarization induced by pinacidil could be decreased by TMCC; the increased instability of RR and QT interval induced by pinacidil could be decreased by TMCC. Conclusion TMCC has the effects of anti-SQT2 by prolonging the QT inter-val and the effective refractory period, reducing the transmural dispersion of repolarization and instability.

INTRODUCTION:
Surgical resection of the primary and metastatic tumour is increasingly recommended in suitable patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC). While the role of metastasectomy is well studied and established in colorectal liver metastasis, evidence remains limited in pulmonary metastases. This systematic review was conducted to examine the current evidence on the role of lung metastasectomy (LUM) in CRC.
METHODS:
Three databases were systematically searched, to identify studies that compared survival outcomes of LUM, and factors that affected decision for LUM.
RESULTS:
From a total of 5,477 records, 6 studies were eventually identified. Two papers reported findings from one randomised controlled trial and 4 were retrospective reviews. There was no clear survival benefit in patients who underwent LUM compared to those who did not. When compared against patients who underwent liver metastasectomy, there was also no clear survival benefit. Patients who underwent LUM were also more likely to have a single pulmonary tumour, and metachronous disease.
CONCLUSION
The evidence suggests a role for LUM, but is limited by inherent selection bias in retrospective reviews, and the single randomised clinical trial performed was not completed. More prospective studies are required to understand the true effect of LUM on outcomes in metastatic CRC.
