Objective To summarize the clinical experience of three different treatments for gallbladder and common bile duct stones. Methods The clinical data of 180 cases of gallbladder stones combined with bile duct stones undergoing surgery from May 2010 to May 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. They were divided into three groups,A group of 60 patients underwent a period of endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST),under the second phase of laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC);Group B 60 patients underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) + laparoscopic common bile duct exploration surgery (LCBDE) + T tube drainage;Group C 60 patients underwent conventional open cholecystectomy (OC) + bile duct exploration (OCBDE) + T tube drainage. Results A group of 53 cases completed surgery successfully,5 cases of remaining 7 patients failured in the first phase surgery,2 cases of the 5 patients did LC + LCBDE,3 of the 5 patients underwent conventional surgery. Two patients underwent the conventional surgery in the second phase surgery.B group of 57 cases completed surgery successfully, three cases convert to open surgery. All of the group C completed the surgery successfully.Group A complication was the most in the three groups (P<0.05);group B had the shortest time of hospitalization (P<0.05),the complication rate was lower than that in group A (P<0.05),the complication had no significant difference between A and B.(P and group B > 0.05),group B had shortest operation time (P<0.05);no statistically significant differences were found among three groups in fasting time. Conclusion Three treatment methods have advantages as well as disadvantages,a reasonable treatment should be selected according to the specific circumstances.

Objective To explore the role of glutamate in inducing cortical neuron damage in newborn rats. Methods The model of damage induced by glutamate was established on cultured cortical neurons in newborn rats with primary cultivation technique. To evaluate the severity of neuron injury, the changes of morphology were observed by inverted microscopy, the cell viability and rate of LDH releasing from neuron were detected by MTT assay and biochemical method, respectively;the rate of neuronal apoptosis was measured by flow cytometer system. Results Under the inverted microscopy, neurons showed obvious toxic damage in glutamate treatment group. Compared with controls, the cell viability significantly decreased (t=4.58 P

Objective To investigate the effect of ERK1/2 phosphorylation on the proliferation of human aorta vascular smooth muscle cells (HAVSMCs) stimulated by advanced glycation end products (AGEs) Methods CCK8 was used to test the effect of AGEs with different concentration on the proliferation of HAVSMCs, and the effect of PD98059, a specific inhibitor of ERK1/2, on HAVSMCs proliferation stimulated by AGEs was also detected. Flow Cytometer (FCM) was used to detect the cell cycle transformation induced by AGEs. Western Blot was used to detect the expression of relative proteins. Results 10 mg/L AGEs observably facilitated the proliferation and the DNA synthesis of HAVSMCs and PD98059 (40 umol/L) markedly inhibited the proliferation and cell cycle evolution of HAVSMCs induced by AGEs. Furthermore, ERK1/2 phosphorylation, and PCNA were regulated by AGEs and thus it showed time and dose dependent. Conclusion AGEs participates in the proliferation of HAVSMCs by activating ERK1/2 signal path.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Yangyin Huoxue decoction(the function of decoction is to tonify Qi,nourish Yin and enhance blood circulation)on salivary gland response attribute to radiotherapy. Methods This study, carried between January 2005 and December 2005,focused on the effect of Chinese herbs on salivary gland response attribute to radiotherapy. In the treatment group,30 cases took Chinese herbs during the duration of radiotherapy, while in the control group 30 cases were given routine therapy. Results Both groups had finished the radiotherapy, however,in the control group, there were 5 cas- es with a break for 1~2 weeks. For the comparison of the salivary gland change in acute stage, there was no variance(x~2=2.387,P=0.122);the latency for the salivary gland change in treatment group was longer than that in control group(x~2=13.106,P=0.000).For the comparison of Karnofsky after radiotherapy, the KS was superior in the treatment group than that in control group(x~2=12.685,P=0.013);For the comparison of objective effect after radiotherapy, the remission rate in treatment group was 90 %,and it was 86.7 % in control group(x~2=0.638,P=0.727).Conclusion The decoction can remit the salivary gland response caused by radiotherapy in clinic, prolong the latency for acute radioactive response;release the pain of the pa- tients, increase the achievement ratio for radiotherapy, and improve the patients'living condition. To combine with radiotherapy,Chinese herbs is a good supplemental therapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Objective To investigate the expressions of Galectin-3 (Gal-3), Bcl-2 and Bax in human pituitary adenomas, and to explore the interrelation among them. Methods RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry were applied to detect the mRNA and protein expressions of Gal-3, Bcl-2 and Bax in surgically excised human pituitary adenoma tissues, including invasive and non-invasive pituitary adenomas, and the correlation analysis was performed. Results The Gal-3 and Bcl-2 expressions in the invasive pituitary group were significantly higher than those in the non-invasive group, and the expression of Bax had no significant difference between the two groups. Pearson's correlation analyses showed that the Gal-3 expression was positively correlated with Bcl-2, but was not correlated with Bax, which was inversely correlated with expression of Bcl-2. Conclusion Gal-3 may function through a cell death inhibition pathway involving Bcl-2 to enhance cell proliferation, which result in the invasive growth of pituitary adenoma. These results indicate that Gal-3 has an important role in pituitary tumor cell proliferation and may serves as a possible therapeutic target in treatment of pituitary tumors.

0.05).Three coronary artery aneurysm in the distal RCA was missed by 2DE.MSCT could not detect slight or moderate mitral regurgitation in 2 patients and artery wall thickening in 5 patients. Conclusion MSCT would be an effective complementary or alternative method for CDEC to evaluate coronary artery lesions non-invasively in pediatric patients with Kawasaki disease.
