PEG-modified magnetic Fe3O4 (Fe3O4-PEG) nanoparticles were sythesized using a solvothermal reaction and characterized with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). The photothermal effect and photothermal destruction of cancer cells were evaluated. Then the doxorubicin loaded Fe3O4-PEG (DOX-Fe3O4-PEG) nanoparticles were prepared. The cytotoxicity and combined chemotherapy/photothermal therapy (PTT) effect were investigated. Uniform PEG coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles with particle size of 155 nm were obtained in the experiment. The loading and release of doxorubicin on Fe3O4-PEG were pH-dependent. The drug loading capacity in water was 21%. The results of MTT indicated a good biocompatiblity of Fe3O4-PEG nanoparticles and high cytotoxicity of DOX-Fe3O4-PEG. In combined therapy experiment, photothermal therapy demonstrated unambiguously enhanced chemotherapy efficacy. In conclusion, the obtained Fe3O4-PEG nanoparticles which exhibit good photothermal effect and drug loading capacity can be used for chemotherapy and photothermal therapy. The synergetic anti-tumor activity indicates the potential for the combined application of chemotherapy and photothermal therapy in cancer treatment.

Objective To investigate the application valve of bFGF to improve the viability of trans-plantation flap in Wistar rat. Methods Forty-eight Wistar rats were randomly divided into two groups based on the age: group A,B(1.5 month old, every group was 12 rats) and group C,D (3 month old, every group was 12 rats). After an ischemic model completed, recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor (rb-bFGF) was given to groups A and C in ischemie zone by vascularization flap injection and the equality of normal saline to groups B and D. 14 days postoperatively, the muscular tissue was sent for histology, the blood vessel density was calculated by image analysis, and positive VEGF was detected by immunohistochem-istry. Results The member of capillaries and positive VEGF were more in group A than that in B, and also were morein group C than D(P < 0.05), but there were not statistic difference between group A and C (P > 0.05). Conclusion Recombinant bovine bFGF can stimulate angiogenesis and improve the ischemie vascu-larization flap of rat, which is not associated with their age.

Journal of China Medical University 2015;44(8):679-681
Objective To explore the relationship between 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3(1,25-VD3)and alveolar fluid clearance(AFC)in mice in vivo, and investigate its effects in the process of lung fluid clearance. Methods KM male mice were treated with active vitamin D analogue parical-citol(daily i.p. injection)for 2 weeks, and then the in vivo AFC of these mice was measured by bovine serum albumin protein assays. western blot was applied to determine epithelial sodium channel protein levels in lungs of these mice. Results In vivo total AFC was 31.9%±3.8%in vitamin D-treated mice, and significantly lower in the vehicle-treated controls(19.7%±1.9%,P<0.05). Amiloride-sensitive AFC was increased approximate-ly 50%by vitamin D. western blot showed that the expression ofα-epithelial sodium channel was significantly elevated in paricalcitol-treated mouse lungs. Conclusion These observations suggest that vitamin D augments AFC in mice, which may be related to the augment of epithelial sodium channel protein expression. The clinical application of vitamin D therapy may ameliorate pulmonary edema of patients.

Objective To observe the changes of CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells in the spleen of mice infected with T.gondii. Methods Twenty-eight female C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four groups. Three groups of mice were inoculated intraperitoneally with 104 tachyzoites in 200 ?l sterile PBS. At 2, 4 and 6 days post-infection, the spleens were removed. The expression level of Foxp3 mRNA in splenic CD4+ T cells was quantitated by real-time PCR. The percentage of CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells in CD4+ T cells was determined by flow cytometry, and the absolute numbers of splenic CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells and CD4+ T cells were assessed. The fourth group was injected intraperitoneally with 200 ?l sterile PBS as control. Results The relative mRNA level of Foxp3 in splenic CD4+ T cells at day 4 (1.89?0.23) and day 6 (1.79?0.24) post-infection was significantly higher than control (1.00?0.12)(P

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the correlation betwen varying degrees of non-acute tinnitus and anxiety and depression.
METHOD:
Seventy-seven outpatients with non-acute tinnitus as their in chief complaint were submitted to Tinnitus Handicap Inventory(THI), Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS).
RESULT:
THI and its three subscales were found to have significant correlations with SAS and SDS. The group (THI ≥ 38) had more anxiety and depression than the mild (THI < 38). Significant correlations were also observed between THI, SAS and SDS in the group with THI ≥ 38, in contrast with the group of THI < 38.
CONCLUSION
Patients with THI ≥ 38 suffered from severe anxiety and depression than the mild. Doctors should pay more attention to these patients, especially their psychological disorders.

Objective To explore the effect of culture supernatant of Toxoplasma gondii on CD4+CD25+ T cells in mice in vitro. MethodsCD4+CD25+ T cells were separated from spleens of C57BL/6 mice and incubated in the culture superntant of Toxoplasma gondii. The apoptosis percentage of the CD4+CD25+ T cells were detected by FACScan, and the suppression of the CD4+CD25+ T regulatory cells were examined by 3H-TdR incorporation. ResultsCompared with the CD4+CD25+ T cells incubated with RPMI-1640, (36.90?0.36)% CD4+CD25+ T cells took apoptosis after incubated with the culture supernatant of Toxoplasma gondii for 10 hours, and the Annexin-v positive rate increased by (13.60?2.15)%. Compared with RPMI-1640, the culture supernatant of Toxoplasma gondii incubating the CD4+CD25+ T regulatory cells for 5,10 hours reduced their suppressive potential on the proliferation of the CD4+CD25- T cells significantly. ConclusionsSome composition of the culture supernatant of Toxoplasma gondii might cause apoptosis of CD4+CD25+ T cells and as a result, could reduce their suppression on CD4+CD25- T cells.

Objective:To investigate the image characteristics of woven coronary artery (WCA)on intravascular ultrasound(IVUS) and optical coherence tomography(OCT).Methods:Thirty-seven patients suspected of WCA on coronary angiography were enrolled from Teaching Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medcine, Zhengzhou Cardiovascular Disease Hospital and Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University from January 2013 to July 2020. The intraluminal imaging features of WCA were analyzed using IVUS and OCT.Results:Of the 37 patients admitted at the cardiology service, 9 patients had WCA. All the patients underwent coronary angiography, IVUS and OCT, of which 6 lesions were located on the right coronary artery, 2 lesions were located on the left anterior descending artery and 1 patient had WCA on the circumflex artery. The mean length of WCA lesions was 2.2 cm(ranged from 1.2 cm to 4.5 cm). The angiographic appearance of WCA was numerous small tortious channels origined form the main lumen. The channels appeared to be " doughnut" like pattern and they merged to normal artery again after the anomalous segment. Flow limitation was rare unless there was coronary atherosclerosis. OCT and IVUS showed multiple spiral channels in the anomalous segment, which were independent of each other and each channels had a relatively complete three-layers vascular structure. Conclusions:With typical image characteristics, IVUS and OCT are able to screen out WCA and guide the treatment decision making.
