International Eye Science 2014;(10):1879-1881
AIM: To assess the changes of macular thickness of acquire immunodeficiency syndrome ( AIDS) patients.
METHODS:The study based on the data analysis of 38 human immunodeficiency virus ( HIV ) positive patients ( 64 eyes ) . According to CD4 count and whether cytomegalovirus retinitis ( CMVR) happened, the patients were divided into 3 groups. Group A included 16 patients (32 eyes), in which CD4 count was < 50cells/μL and CMVR did not happen. Group B included 10 patients ( 20 eyes), in which CD4 count was>50cells/μL and CMVR did not happen. Group C included 12 patients (12 eyes), in which CD4 count was < 50cells/μL and CMVR just happened. Group D included 10 healthy people ( 20 eyes ) , as normal control group. By using optical coherence tomography ( OCT ) , thickness of retina along with a 1mm diameter circle centered on macular was evaluated.
RESULTS:The mean foveal thicknesses in groups A, B, C and D were 254. 03±15. 63μm, 263. 11±17. 12μm, 304. 50±50. 62μm and 257. 64±8. 54μm in order. Compared with foveal thickness in each group, there were significant differences in general (F=12. 933, P=0. 000). The mean foveal thickness in groups CMVR increased, which was of significant difference (P= 0. 000), compared with other groups.
CONCLUSION: CMVR can impair the structure and function of macular, which then seriously affects the visual function of patients. It's helpful to understand the progress and prognosis of CMVR disease by observing macular structure with OCT in early time.

OBJECTIVETo discuss the relative association of soft tissue tension and cervical physiological curvature chang in patients with scapula muscle fasciitis.
METHODSFrom February 2012 to December 2012,29 patients with scapula muscle fasciitis were investigated. There were 10 males and 19 females with an average age of 27.77 years old (ranged from 22 to 40 years old). Routine AP and lateral cervical X-rays were done in all patients. Cervical lordosis was measured according to Borden's method and the pain point tension was measured by soft tissue tension meter. Finally, perform statistic analysis to bove data.
RESULTSLateral X-rays showed 9 cases were normal cervical lordosis, 18 cases were cervical lordosis decreased, 2 cases were cervical lordosis increased. The regression equation of cerical lordosis changes D(Y) and soft tissue tension displacement D0.5 kg (X) was Y = -15.069 + 3.673X.
CONCLUSIONThere is linear relationship between soft tissue tension and cervical physiological curvature change. With the soft tissue tension increases, the cervical lordosis trend to decrease.

Microbiology 1992;0(06):-
The L-ATC hydrolase and L-SCC amidohydrolase which convert L-ATC to L-cysteine in Pseudomonas sp.TS-1138 are purified about 83.9 and 90.3 fold by salting-out method, Sephadex G-75 gel chromatography, DEAE-cellulose 52 ion exchange and Sephadex G-100 gel chromatography, etc. The purified enzyemes are both demonstrated by SDS-PAGE to be a homogeneous protein. Their molecular weight are about 37.5kD and42.8kDa respectively. The optimum reaction temperature are both 35℃, and the optimum pH are 7.0 and 8.0 respectively. The Km of the two enzymes are 0.67 mmol/L and 0.15 mmol/L, and the Vmax are 0.39?10 -3mmol/L?min and 0.42?10 -3mmol/L?min respectively.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(15):1142-1144
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the efficacy of CO2 laser treatment for patients with precancerous laryngeal lesions under phonomicrosurgery and to explore the points for attention in operation.
METHOD:
They were all treated with phonomicrosurgery techniques as mucosal epitheliumablation or mucosal stripping by using CO2 laser. Eight patients with laryngeal papilloma were excised by CO2 laser.
RESULT:
All patients were treated with CO2 laser surgery successfully. During follow-up of 6 to 39 months, all patients survived. Local recurrence or canceration were detected in 3 cases, of which 2 cases with laryngeal papilloma underwent CO2 laser treatment in one year post-operatively, while the other case with severe dysplasia underwent laryngeal vertical partial laryngectomy and post-operative radiotherapy one and half year postoperatively due to canceration. No local recurrence occurred until the last follow up. No severe complications such as dyspnea and hemorrhage occured.
CONCLUSION
CO2 laser surgery is an effective and minimally invasive treatment for precancerous laryngeal lesions. Through selecting the appropriate patient and paying attention to the operation during surgery, the adhesion of vocal cord can be reduced or even be avoided after CO2 laser surgery.

Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2010;29(1):66-69
Objective To study the epidemiological features of the endemic arsenism in Hohhot of Inner Mongolia in 2004-2006 in order to get scientific evidence for the control and prevention. Methods The historical data in Huhhot revealed that 51 arsenic villages in 3 counties(Tumotezuo,Tuoketuo and Helingeer) were investigated. When arsenic content in drinking water was 0.05-0.15 mg/L,the situation of endemic arsenism was investigated in the households having high arsenic contents of water. When arsenic content in drinking water was greater than 0.15 mg/L,the survey was conducted to investigate arsenic patients with census. Census rate was not lower than 90%. Patients of endemic amenism were diagnosed by The Standard of Diagnosis for Endemic Arsenism (WS/T 211-2001). Results A total 28 083 people were examined,3978 were determined to be patients with arsenism, including 1722 being suspicious, 1897 mild,329 secondary and 30 severe. The total incidence of arsenism was 14.17% (3978/28 083),while the incidence of suspicious, mild, secondary and severe disease was 6.13% (1722/28 083) ,6.75% (1897/28 083),1.17% (329/28 083) and 0.11% (30/28 083),respectively. Suspicious and mild patients were most frequently seen. The incidence of dyspigmentation, pigmentation, ketatoses, both dyspigmentation and pigmentation and all of skin disorders was 8.65% (2428/28 083),3.19% (895/28 083),6.48% (1821/28 083),2.13%(598/28 083) and 0.94%(265/28 083),respectively. The most seen skin disorders were dyspigmentation and ketatoses. The disease mostly occurred in those aged over 40 years, the incidence was 89.52% (3561/3978). The incidence of male [15.08%(2209/14 644)]was more than that of female[13.16%(1769/13 439)].Conclusions Current condition of arsenism in Hohhot is mild, arsenic disease surveillance should keep going. Prevention and control needs to be reinforced in the future.
